2010 Reunion at Cookies, the memories #3

Betty we have Fischer cats here in NH too. They were imported to control an overwhelming porcupine population and now they are too numerous themselves. They really do look like an overgrown housecat but they are soooooo vicious.

Yes, saw that there are quite a few areas in USA that have them..not saying they got my Riley, but Melanie and Greg were over last week and both said they heard them and a few animals had gone missing..

They look like a bear and beaver mix to me. lol

Yikes, Betty - I've heard of fishers before, but didn't know they were related to the polecats - talk about nasty critters!
I hope your riley comes home soon!

Just got a call from realtor - viewing tonight at 6:30, so going to try to leave @ 3:30 to clean up the place. We didn't get totally packed away from the camping trips...... Been shopping till late every night since!
Well, we'll see what happens. I've feeling rather disheartened about the sale of our home......

my dad is the baby gampa of the world !! he is the baby whisperer. He volunteers a Standford Childrens and is a cuddler, the nurses have nicknamed him Dr. Baby Whisperer.
i don't do babies much either . mine yes. other kids . no thank you !! change your own kids diaper . i did my time !!

I guess I am the "odd ball" in the group. I do love babies, to hold, cuddle, rock, change diapers--yes you read that correctly. I was so hurt when my first GD was little that I wasn't allowed to change her diapers. Nuts I know but it was like they didn't trust me. However, I have made up for it in the past 6 years doing "potty" runs. LOL

Being raised by my grandparents and with adult children of their own, wasn't around babies but working with seniors now that's my forte and where I shine...

Cookie i have been reading up on hydrangea's and i think they need more sun than what Bertie is going to give ?
is she planting in full shade ? they need 5 hrs of sun and actually The Pee Gee can do full sun !

Viewing - salesman said it was a "positive" viewing, but that the fellow was going to "ponder" it. My feeling is: if you don't make an offer when you see it, you likely won't make one at all. Our salesman is new, and likely isn't to the point where he has taken off his rose-coloured glasses...... I'm a bit more pragmatic....................

Auntie M-I would kill for you to come up after Jonathan is born, especially since neither Chris nor I know crap about babies!!LOL The original plan was for my mom to come and stay for 2 weeks afterwards, but with her job loss that isn't going to happen...

Well, Dean (the baby) and I had a wonderful day. Started out with an hour and a half nap on the swing by the pond. That wasn't so hateful. I wasn't even holding him. He wanted to lay down on the seat beside me and he was asleep in about 5 minutes. I had my cell phone with me and called Bill and asked him to bring me a bottle of water and my book and glasses. So I read while he slept. I guess if someone was swinging me and I was sleepy, I'd sleep a long time, too!

I haven't found a really good setting on this camera, or else I just stink at taking photos...here's Dean at lunch.

However, the pictures I took of the lotus seemed to have turned out pretty good!

Tink, if I had a clue what was going to happen with my Mom, I would say I would come but things are so "iffy" right now.

3.15 am baby wakes up for feeding
3: 30 am change diaper
3:45 am baby wants more food wakie wakie time again.
4:00 am change diaper, cuz you heard a noise and you smell it cascading over the hole house the stench of baby poop.
4:15 am baby cries "just because they do that with no apparent reasoning "
5:00 am baby asleep
5:15 am baby awake again yuummy for his tummy time again.
5: 30 am change baby diapers, cuz he is crying again ???
6 : 00 am you might get about 20 min of sleep and then guess what !!! you get to do it all over again !!!
i sure hope that helps clear things up for you . *snicker *
i advise lots of Starbucks Double Shot Latte coffee drinks . Stock up on em.
with all that said ..... It will be the best time of your life . seriously . it will. :)

What a cutie, nothing like being rocked and listening to the sounds of water..I was looking at a free standing hammock the other day and thinking, wouldn't it be nice..yep, can sit about 40 without putting one chair out, a few loungers as well, doubt anyone has sat for months,
what makes me think I'd use a hammock? go figure these ideas we come up with..lol

Tink, sue is so dead on. But they will sleep most of the day, so you need to learn to nap when he does. After a couple of months it will be so important to get him, and keep him on a schedule.
Please don't sleep with him in your bed, I know it is so cute do do, but daughter in law now 11 years later is regretting it, as my Granddaughter still wants to sleep with Momma! Not to mention the dangers of rolling over on him. We hear at least once a month on th e news, that some Mom layed down with baby just for a few minutes, and she rolled over on the infant and smothered it to death. So sad!

I agree don't sleep with them. we did with our son. Thank goodness we didn't have a trauma. But ....
we taught them to sleep on their own when they were 2 .

How right you are LindaKay...not a good thing..

I was told by a doctor as well that if you have your child in a different room (monitor in yours) that you will sleep and the child will sleep much better so always did that..

I agree on the monitor other room thingy. The least little sigh when they are new makes you wide awake. They may just be turning their head! It will make it easier for both of you to sleep.

LK just called me saying the situation with Lilli Marie is getting serious.
The doctors have to sedate her as she's not processing her food and it looks like surgery is imminent. Chances of surviving the surgery is all up to our Lord now.

Please pray for this little angel. All according to His will, of course.

i m so sorry to hear of the news. so sorry. :(
God has her tightly in her arms and is gently kissing her cheeks . She is comforted by his grace and love in his arms in heaven.

Had a yard sale yesterday and made $54.00...Big woop...well I guess every little bit counts. I'm so mad though..it would have been $74.00, but I was stupid enough to accept a counterfeit $20.00....the guy hadn't even left yet by the time I realized it. It wasn't even a GOOD counterfeit! I should have suspected something when he parked far enough away in the field that I couldn't see his license plate. Plenty of places closer he could have parked...had a teenage boy with him that kept asking me questions...think he was trying to keep my mind occupied on stuff besides the bill...well, it worked...dang....

Police came when we called and took the bill. Said they'd been getting a lot of them and that's their method now. Buy something small and give a large bill...get real money in change. He bought two craft pens for a total of $1.50. :o(

Oh Cookie, so sorry you got ripped off like that! Sure hope they catch him soon!
