2010 Reunion at Cookies, the memories #3
Well, we'll take what we can get! :o)
The first day went much better than I thought it would.
The issue I had before was not enough work and it got VERY boring late in the day.
(Plus I was just burned out.)
Well the guy I'm replacing wasn't doing squat.
So I spent the whole day playing catch up.
I was work friends w/ many of the people there so that part was really nice.
Most didn't know I was coming back and it was fun to see the looks on their faces.
Two went up to Jon (our neighbor and the Plant Manager) and said I'd done work that hadn't been touched in a year.
We just got back from celebrating his 50th Birthday and other than the compliments he said nothing about work. So......
Bit Tough getting up this morning....
Tougher working in Climate Control and coming home to real weather! LOL!
Back from camping weekend - came back in time to unpack then make dinner, and now it's soon to sleep - back to work tomorrow!
We camped at Sleepy Hollow campground in Pincher Creek, Alberta - loved it!!
Exciting things happening here...Ric, you'll be into a routine so quickly that you'll forget you were ever off...
Susan, glad you enjoyed your weekend holiday..
Only good thing about this morning is with yesterday being a holiday there are only 3 1/2 more days of work then weekend again..promised myself that this weekend will be a stay at home weekend so I can re-generate..
Light rain during the night, overcast, sure hope it clears as we'll have northern lights tonight and what a view they are, won't see if it's overcast though so start blowing those clouds away.
Cookie-I tried the grits since they are supposed to eat them, drink some water and explode, but for some reason those pesky little critters didn't' want them:(
Tante-I think that is waht I use too and it seems to work. When we moved here and I was planting beds I would find HUGE nests with the egg things and everything-grossed me right out!! YUCK!! Good luck!!
HAPPY BDAY SUE!!!!! Why didn't u tell us???
Happy Birthday SUE...sure hope you get spoilt...save some cake for us...
That silly girl isn't having cake, and she got on the scales this morning!!!!!
Thought I raised her better than that!
One of the ladies that came (from our exercise class) last week for lunch and the garden tours brought Bertie and I packages of crappy that they caught in Florida this past winter as a thank you. Bertie said she's probably going to fix hers tonight, but Bill told me to freeze ours, cause he isn't going to be here for dinner. I was really looking forward to that, too.... :o(
There was a great big storm heading our way....don't you know it...it went North and Sue is probably getting pounded. She doesn't need any more rain! We need it badly! :o( Phooey.
Happy Birthday, Sue!
Hi everyone!!
I'm here, moving into my new private office, cleaning it took all day Monday, then I had to actually move my stuff from my old desk to in here yesterday, now I'm ready to work and I'm loving this, this is way way cool, but I'm used to mental labor, not physical labor, so today I am absolutely worn out. I didn't come on last weekend cause Dave was excessively cranky so I decided to spend time with him instead of with the computer.
I'll bbl
Oh Crissy...so glad to see you back. We were wondering if you got buried or something!
Buried in work, this office hadn't been cleaned at all in 10 years, and apparently she didn't use the paper towels sitting right beside her when she made a mess. I turned the keyboard upside down and all these potato chips and other miscellaneous crap fell out of it. There was so much crap and goo stuck to the sides of the keys we ended up throwing it away. And it just goes on and on, like I said, took me all day, it was way way more than just simple dusting, we're talking scrubbing up the food that has been stuck to the desk for who knows how long.
Yikes! Well, aren't you glad it's clean for you now though...
I read on the BWL thread about your heat index...I promise to quit bellyaching right now! It is much worse than we usually have in the "North", but nothing like you're experiencing! Try not to get overheated...K?
Oh I'm staying in the AC, but it's kinda boring. At 7pm last night I went outside and helped my next door neighbor take down the Morning Glories, that was a job but they mostly grew from her side, but they were all wrapped up in my cannas.
Yea the heat has been horrible! What's hilarious about the office is now that mine's all clean and pretty, and smells good too, everyone else has been cleaning their offices! I started something! There's just no reason for this to happen:
Good for you to move into your new office, Crissy!! I can relate to the mess though...... it's what this place looked like when I came to the company- YUCK! Of course my predecessor was an unhappy person and more than a little disgruntled......
Crissy, glad your doing OK. I hear you on the spend time with hubby. He hates when he comes home from work, and I go to the computer. I try not to get on the computer, unless it is to look something up for him!
Glad you got your office all cleaned, sounds like it was quite messy?
VERY messy is an understatement. I have never seen such a mess, especially in the workplace. No wonder her husband never came up here, she probably wouldn't let him, he would have had a stroke.
I think she was disgruntled too, not liking, and actually fighting, the changes that our programmer is putting into place, which are actually very very good changes and is going to make my job, would have made her job, so much easier, but she didn't see it that way, I think she saw something like a power trip from him that just isn't there, he's just doing what's good for the department as a whole. She wasn't friendly with anyone except for me, she wasn't unfriendly, just wouldn't talk to anyone unless talked to first. Just a very unsociable person who I think doesn't like her life, she likes the people in her life, but isn't happy with what has been dealt to her. I know for a fact she didn't like it here, every day it was something else of not wanting to be here, I got so tired of listening to that whining it was unreal.
had to take a day off - it's too hot outside - air is stifling anyway. It's dad's 90th birthday. Party for all his friends hosted by us 3 daughters with help of 3 of the grandkids. now family dinner, on my way now - waving as I leave to y'all!
Waving! Have fun!!!
Have fun, wow, 90..give him hugs for us..
Calling it a night, it's extremely hot here, think Crissy sent me her hot weather, well perhaps not, didn't reach 121 today.. close to 100 though..
My kitty Riley has been missing since the weekend, went in search but couldn't locate..not sure if it's missing or she's mad that Ned (Greg & family's labradoodle staying with me for the week) sooo she's saying to heck with you...hopefully by morning she'll be at the door..sure hope so, hate to think something has happened to Riley..
this old gal is tired..a few strawberries in the tummy and off to bed I go..
Night/Night
Betty i sure hope your kitty comes home
My parents had a cat and he disappeared for over a year and then one day he came back ? but he was different ? he bit people. They kept him ? still alive but we call him the Attack Mac Cat . He stays in another room when people come to visit.
Crissy sending you a cool weather ((())))
hugs to everyone
just busy with fair and dh coming in thursday night.
storms are coming in and its a whooper !
Be careful in those storms.
Betty, sure hope kitty comes back home. That is the one you were treating the sore spots on?
No, Riley is the tiger looking one..grandchildren got him as a kitty and then started clawing, so the boys asked if I could look after him for awhile..ok..6 years later .... looked around again this morning, no signs of him..drats and more drats!
Oh Betty, I know how you feel about your missing kitty. We have had 5 disappear from here only to learn recently there are coyotes in the area. Yes, they will get our cats.
Hoping Riley comes home soon!!!!!!!!
We have fishers (?) in our area of late, can hear them crying at night so let's hope that's not the case and he's just mad because "NED" the puppy is visiting..
Fishers--explain.
Info at:
http://www.canadiangeographic.ca/kids/animal-facts/fisher.asp
Doesn't say 'kitties' but many locals have lost their kitties to the fisher..
OOOH, that reminds of what we call a badger, nasty animals!
Oh dear....please keep them in Canada....
I'm betting that Riley is just mad. When we babysit someone's dog, Patches always disappears until the visitor goes. Especially if it's a pup....they're just too rowdy and it scares him. So he's probably hiding out somewhere...he'll be hungry when he decided he's had enough!
Funny...didn't know you had a "Riley" cat, too!
We finally got some rain last night. "1" inch...YAY! The garden is so happy this morning! I'd like to have a couple more inches..(I know never happy) but so glad we got what we did.
I'm babysitting for my lil nephew today. He just turned 1. He was a preemie and isn't walking yet, so shouldn't be too hard to keep him. So I better go and run the sweeper before he gets here. I'm sure he doesn't want a mouthful of kitty/dog hair!
It reminded me of a wolverine.
Oooh Joyce, I love kids, but not into babies, never been around them much (except for mine of course and that being said Jeff was in hospital first 6 months of his life)..just don't know what to do with them..of course if they could do crafts it would be different..lol..
My DIL's were learing in my babysitting..once, I kept Kyle overnight, he cried and cried...didn't know what to do, tried feeding him sooo many times, wouldn't drink..thank goodness parents came early morning...now WHY didn't someone tell me they had those little white circles on top of the bottle underneath the nipple, surely I'd have taken it off and he could have drank...
Also babysat, imagine, they counted the diapers and realized in a full day I'd only changed the baby a few times...
Guess the moral of this story is unless they can talk, wouldn't leave them with me...
Geez...Betty....maybe I should try those things.... ;o)
I'm still sitting here....guess I better get my duff in gear!
But I'm great with kids over 3...lol
LOL Betty, I'm great with kids over 25!
