ewwww-fish flavored water!!!!

Crissy-ahhh-to have a dryer like that....

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

OOOOOOHHHHH Joyce!!! I love your pond and that swing is awesome. I love stuff like that. Your pond is my mom's dream. She wants a waterfall so bad. Well I found a fake one that I am going to try to connect the ponds with. I am going to need Doug's help with this one though so if we accomplish it I will post pix.

I can see why Jaye enjoyed having her morning coffee in your garden. BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Thank you, Cindy...it's truly a special place to me....

Glenview, IL

Good Morning,

Oh yes, a special place indeed...I am enjoying my morning coffee, absorbing the peacefulness.
Here is another view...

Hey Cindy, I'll send you the patterns pieces! I am glad you liked it that much, now you didn't say if it fit Doug too, I was going to make him one but not sure of the size...

Betty, Lovely gardens you have too, I always enjoy seeing yours.

Yeah, Ric-so glad you were called back to work.
Hey, say Hi to Robin for me.

And Sunshine, Hi to Bertie...

Lets see...finished my July blocks, very exciting to be moving on to the next...
Also, power washed the deck again, now to get it stained-waterproofed. Next big thing on agenda is making my stepping stones.
I have got to do them soon before the Burdock starts blooming, plus I kind of wanted to make smaller stones using the Vine leaves.

Crissy...Sending you Giant Armwraps! (((((((((((((((((((((Crissy))))))))))))))))))))))

LOL, Linda Kay, I only iron the new material. I worked at a Dry Cleaners many moons ago, I pressed clothes...Learned some tricks, but
yikes, I won't iron unless I absolutely have to....Wow, I like that you press on your table top! I do that at the Cottage when i bring machine.
I have been thinking to make a small table top ironing board, Really don't need to drag out the big board, b u t, it does make a nice layout holder!

ahhh, don't know about anyone else, but I have so enjoyed the weather in the last couple of days....Nice and cool mornings, breezy sun shiny afternoons and comfortable evenings. Ohwah, we even enjoyed a fire last night! Then at last it rained all night into this early AM.
Think I'll pull some weeds, if rain stays away DH and I 'll stain the deck.

Well You all Enjoy the day, I got to scoot, or nothing will get done.

Bill!! You Big Doll, Thank You, Thank you for finding my ring...Told our Sunshine to give ya an RC and big kiss too.

Well, actually it should fit properly now, I lost like 10 lbs since the gathering, LOL, finally braved up getting on scale.
Now just maintaining, I think...Julia was happy to here the ring has been found, oh she says hi too.

Wait, one more question, Joyce and Betty, What did you use to make your bowls??

Thanks for posting that pic, Lil Injun...I always love looking at that pond! ^_^

Sue, I don't have an email for Joan, but in case you don't have her phone number, it's 513-868-3512.

Glad the jam is doing good, sorry the Garage Sale is doing bad... :o(

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sounds as though you've all got something going on..just got back from Kempenfest on the Bay, yikes, expecting 250,000 today..I got there early/early before they officially opened, bought my treasures and just got home...

Sue I took the easy way out, stopped at the country market and wouldn't you know, someone is selling every type of jam imaginable..bought some various jars of jam, can always stop another day for more..sure beats making it...is homemade you know!

Think I best go do groceries before I get comfy, because the minute I do, that's the end of me for today...been running every weekend for almost 3 months...just slated next weekend as 'stay home with feet up' kind of weekend...

Enjoy your day..

Betty wish we had them type of jams here at our farmers markets. no one does decent jam around here IMHO.
i have to make another black raspberry jam this time with more sugar . I just don't think its Fair ready ? soooo
thanks Cookie , i will call her.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Well, pfh! I'm glad y'all are getting all of that nice rain and 80* temps, I am j e a l o u s!!

((((((((((((((((((((((((((JUDY))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

LOL Jaye, with the oil in the Gulf I'm not going anywhere out there until that's gone. YUK! There are so many cool places Dave hasn't seen and he is so drawn to the ocean and I would love to get him to East Tennessee so he can see Pigeon Forge, Knoxville, and everything else the Smoky Mountains has to offer. I also would like to get him up to Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Utah, Virginia, I want to go to the Eastern part of the US above North Carolina, shoot, I need to watch more Travel Channel.

That garden in Singapore is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!

Ric glad you got called back, Congrats!!!!

Thanks for all of the prayers for Dave to get that job at the plastics molding company!!! Please keep em coming!!!

Sue do you have Huckleberry Jelly up there, or, shoot, there's another good one that I can't think of the name of it right now! ggrrrrr.

Betty I love how you get out and get r done! I worked around the inside of the house yesterday and didn't touch the computer once! Dave's brother was supposed to come from CA for his birthday this weekend but he's not here yet, and today's supposed to be the birthday party he wanted their family to have for him, but since he's not here I think I'm going to go do other things. I think I was going to go do other things anyway... but you know.

Friday at work was sad, my co-worker who got laid off is gone, and it made the whole office awkward for the day, but on the other side of the coin you all know what that means...

Oh and ants got in my hummingbird feeder!!!!!! I was wondering why the hummers stopped using it, I took it down this morning and the whole inside filled up with ants, so I took it in the kitchen and using hot water got the ants out (that took awhile,) then sprayed RAID on the pole and the ground around the pole, now I'm just waiting for that to dry before I rehang the feeder, in this heat it won't take long. I hope the RAID works and doesn't keep the birds from feeding on it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Not sure how the raid will affect it 'Crissy' maybe you should just bring it in and clean more often, those little critters are pesty things for sure...

LOL, Crissy tried to 'I'd like to do' but sit on the couch method and don't get much done so I start almost when sunrise pops and start my day..lots of twists and turns that aren't on the 'to do' list but that's ok..proves to be a challenge at times and have many treasured surprise visits as well...

Few more shrubs/plants and the new garden beside the back bedroom decking is done...won't prove to be too exciting this year but am sure next year I'll be ooohing and ahhhing...

Waiting for Greg and the boys, we're going to try and move that flower shed that I made which looks like an outhouse back into the bushland, I want you to only see it IF you comes across it walking the gardens...Greg thinks it just may be too heavy for the 4 of us, we'll see..only needs the tin on the roof and the flooring/shelving but that could be tomorrow's project if it's relocated..was talking to Melanie awhile ago, she's all packed for their adventure to Tobermory scuba diving where the old sunken ships are..will spend most of the week up there doing wonderful things..she said Greg wants to take the monster trike he made but it won't fit in the trunk, I said, we'll he'll just have to leave it at home, she says not in this lifetime, you know he'll find a way...he gets his stubborness from good old mom..moral of this story, when they arrive I'm sure there is a way to do it..wether I'll be able to move afterwards is another question...

So, have to wait and see if they come, if they don't arrive by 3pm it's off to Midland, need more plants/shrubs/cement and seeing as Fabricland is selling out everything, bigger discounts closer to the time of closing, I'll have a look to see if there is anything that just has to come home with me..

Seems there is always something...

This came home yesterday, can't wait for the metal to rust

I am exhausted from reading what ever one is doing!!!! Well, we finally got some rain--3 1/2 " but do believe we had to take some really bad lightening and thunder with it. The thunder was so bad the pictures on the walls were dancing around and the lake was lite up like flood lights from the lightening. Of course with 101 as the official temp yesterday, I am not surprised.

LOL and yes even though we go that rain, the next door neighbor's sprinkler system was going full steam ahead. Go figure.

no huckleberry here Crissy.
glad you got some rain abbisgranma

Raleigh, NC

can't read yet - haven't in forever it seems. Love and prayers to all my sistahs.

crawling into bed again.....400 more irises arrived for planting. all of me hurts.

Joyce, Jaye, my prayers have been answered! Ruth Jean is GRADUATING! August 12th - they have enough seniors that didn't quite make it that they are taking everyone that attended summer school and finished and giving a graduation ceremony to all the high schools in the system at one school - and it's the school her big sister graduated from! Since they wouldn't have had the ceremony at their school anyway, it doesn't matter where. She's FINALLY getting EXCITED.........
......AND.......!!!!!!!
>>>>> her big sister took her aside, said, "you're NOT going to make the mistake I made. You're going to college!" and she took her and signed her up for Wake Tech. Even though it's not much, it's something to get her started on the path. And Ruth is excited about that TOO.

PRAISE THE LORD! THANK YOU JESUS!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Great news Bonnie!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Bon, that is great news!
Don't over do it, take it easy on that back!

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

Good Morning!

YAWN!!!

Ric

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning, your up early!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Congratulations Bon..something to be proud of...

Well I've been up early with the rest of you...having a flower cabin (my kids say it's an outhouse..lol.. I made (now why didn't I put it together in the location I wanted??? duh..not smart..anyway, took a level to the area it will be situated, need much earth so 8 wheelbarrels later after widening the flower gardens, shucks, keep this up soon there will be no grass, I think it's pretty much ready for the move...

Thought it was time to come in for coffee and breakfast then decide what to do with the rest of my day..

Hope you all enjoy yours...make it special

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

That's what the clock said when I rolled out of bed! 6:16!

Well, he starts back to work this morning. I'm sure it will be challenging to start again after over a year off. I know it would be for me. On Saturday he was complaining about having to wear real shoes again! LOL

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Bonita!!!!! Holy Cow girl, are you tired of iris yet???

So happy on the news about Ruth Jean. So they all made it! I know what a good feeling that is. Glad she's going on to further her education. Maybe it will ground her some....(((Bonita)))

I'm getting new growth on all the iris I planted this year! YAY! Can hardly wait for next year to see them bloom.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I need more coffee--strong coffee!!!! Kim went back to work but not before waking me up---urrrrrgh! How will I ever be beautiful if I can't sleep late? LOL I am sure I will readjust again and probably get more done than I do in the summer when she is off work.

Stay cool everyone and have a great day.

Raleigh, NC

grrrrrrrr......

thanks for the hugs (Cookie) and well wishes all. We are so very proud of her getting it together so very fast. Once she had the antidepressant in her, the change in her ability to handle the stress of senior year was like night and day different.

grrrrr on the weather - it's got me behind. weeks upon weeks of too dry. Now I'm ready to plant, and it's been too wet for 2 days.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

:o( Sorry, Sistah....wish I was there to help you!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Alright Ric.. ladies.. .what's the best defense against ants?

The rains are welcomed but there are more ant mounds now! I've tried the corn meal thingy.. but impossible to eradicate all.
So I'm prepared to apply poison unless one of you can suggest an alternative!!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Jaye,

I use stuff called Home Defense. You can you is inside and outside. Works great. Gets rid of all kinds of pests.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cindy, can I get it at WM?

Sorry sistahs.. bruddahs.. kinda rude aren't I.. not greeting and jumping straight to what's bothering my mind!

Waving to all!!! Big, big smile here!!! ^_^

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cindy, I googled it. It's made by Ortho. I'll be needing at least 50 lbs of the granule kind!!! Thanks sistah!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I didn't know that corn meal got rid of ants...I heard that grits did, and my son told me that corn starch does. That's what I've been using this summer and it has worked GREAT! I had the corn starch on the shelf, not the grits. Bertie used the grits and she said it works, too.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cookie, cornmeal do work, but I had too many mounds and undoubtedly some escaped.. or had discerning taste buds!! Should have flavored them with bacon!! ROF!!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Jaye, I buy it by the gallon already mixed with a sprayed on it. Wow you need alot so you are better off buying it by the granule. Good Luck

i use DE Diatomaceous Earth food grade. safe for animals and kids. though i think they are in the same catagory LOLLL
soccer tonight
bbl

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Thank goodness we don't have the ants but if someone has a sure fire remedy for mosquitoes let me know.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)
