Hello and good night all. Sounds like all had a very interesting day--stampedes, rodeos, free bacon and doctor's visit. I lead such a boring life. Watched the 15 second rain shower. Oh well such is life. LOL

inlaws can't watch kids today anyhow so its a bust. i would take em with me but its not in the budget.

This is the fabric that Fairy sent me to use in making her a diaper bag. I'll be looking for co-ordintaing fabrics this week!!!! Isn't it adorable???

You know, I bought that fabric about a year ago and had no clue what I was going to do with it, but loved it so it came home with me. I think it will be really cute and will not show as much wear as others (maybe). Barb-thank you for making this. I can't wait to see the finished project. When I told my mom that someone was making me a diaper bag she said to make sure there are pockets for the bottles and rash cream and stuff like that. I told her you had it all under control so to stop worrying!!LOL I registered for those portable changing pads so that is we are in public I can put it on the changing table-you never know how clean those things are....didn't know if you needed to know that, but they are 18" wide....I am dumd enough not to know if that is the avg size for a bag or not....

Oh Sue-which movie???? I really want to see Despicable Me:)

Barb, not sure if you have a pattern for the diaper bag but those large bags I make with all the pockets inside and out and upper closing tag with be the perfect solution..if you don't have a suitable pattern let me know...

This morning when I got to work still had plenty of time and it was garbage day so decided to clean out my car...there on the back floormat was a spoon....wondered why there was a spoon in car car but then remembered Joyce, took it home to do you a dragonfly .. lol...

Oh, the difference between a stampede and a rodeo is usually with a stampede it's more of a show, like a play with a story line with live animals, and they feed you while watching the show. A rodeo is a competition and they don't feed you.

And the Stampede is 2 weeks long of partying all over the city.
There are permanent Stampede grounds just south of the city core. With such a metropolitan city, that sounds very country, but believe me, it's all inside, very, very large, and very "City" all around it.
Calgary is very much into SPORTS, and this is the largest Sport we have.

I hope to go horseback riding next week, when we're camping. There are a lot of ranches around here, and Waterton is 3 hours away - even more ranches lol
Has anyone here seen the TV show Heartland? It's filmed about 1 1/2 hours south of Calgary.

Sun is starting to show itself...looked at the weather and rain predicted for the next few days..yikes, Jeff and Julie start their 3 week Kayak trip tomorrow..they'll be popping in, checking everything twice to make sure they have everything and everything fits then off they go..

Crissy, know I've forgotten to send some people things I've said I would..should have a DG section you can make notes..lol..reminders etc. wouldn't that be an aid...

OMG Joyce...Sunday was pulling old rusty nails out of reclaimed barn boards for the plant shed I was building..went to throw them in a garbage and it hit me...that dragon type rusted wire/wrench bug that was at Jane's had rusted nails as the feet, talk about dumpster dive...got the nails, got the wire now I need to find me a man who will let me have his old wrenches..lol

Wish I had a picture of that!!!! ;o)

Guess I shouldn't have whined so much about the rain going around us. We just got 3 3/4 inches....the pond has never been higher and water is standing everywhere! Mulch is floating....sigh....

I have to give up on my garden. It just got so out of hand. The weeds, bugs. critters of all sorts . It is a lost cause :( i threw my hands up and surrendered.
i do have some garlic to harvest. I had two beds and i have one more to dig up.
tomatillos are going strong. nothing kills them LOL
i have some eggplants in some pots and they seem to be doing good.
potatoes are a hit and miss. Some critter is eating all the flowers !! uhg. i can't win. not enough liquid fence to keep them out .
Austin and Savannah are reading along as i type LOL
chickens are good.
try to go to my work out tomorrow. Sure is easy to convince yourself out of it though LOL
Savannah wants me to tell Jaye that i m wearing banana boxers. Austin says i was wearing hot dog boxers yesterday :)

So much Crissy has bloomed in the past week..my goodness even some of the lillies that were eaten by the bugs are in bloom..nice to see them...

couldn't remember all the different colors of phlox I've bought over the past few years, nice to see them bloom..have a journal that I'll walk the grounds and make note of where each is so I know what other colors I can use to compliment them...I've about 6 new ones not yet planted so will incorporate them in the new garden I've started...

Won't get much done this weekend as I'll be a traveller again..gone Sat/Sun..

Just to let you know -
I am feeling better for having complete rest...... and because the rain has stopped, it's not Quite As Humid. We also got rid of our mister/humidifier in our bedroom so I'll bet that helped, too. Thank you for all your prayers - I'm not completely better and it will take time that I have, thanks to my vacationtime.

Now, to get sloooowly back to doing things - 1st thing is to find stuff for camping next week, including our camping dishes, and heavy clothing for the nighttime.
It will be soooooo great to get out of the city. My DH suggests we take a tiny TV because we'll be gone for about a week. We'll be have a huge power plug-in because it is RV-capable in the campsite.

Next weekend of course it's the Collingwood Elvis Festival..Elvis's from all over the world competing..what a time that is even for an old gal like me...had me up dancing with them last year as you might recall..

Week after that is Barrie Kempenfest..entire weekend of vendors, entertainment on the waterfront...

I'll soon be wanting fall so I can relax!

Naw-not one for each season, but I saw a couple that I would love to get for Jonathan's room....

If I have the money next year I want to bring my dad up to that, he would have a hay day!

Oh my Betty, I didn't realize they had an Elvis festival at Collingwood. I think of the pottery from there when I see the name---love it!! That is the same place isn't it? LOL
