Ohhhhh Allison!!!!!!! Can I tag along?????
This is enough of a notice to let hubby know he can't work that day.
Fall RU in Ma
Nice list of people planning to come so far! This will be lots of fun and a good send-off into the coming winter for us all!
Here is a link to the Food Thread with a list of the people who are planning to come (along with the "maybes and hopefuls" for now) and the food they will be bringing as soon as that is known:

It's Sat the 18th right? The food thread says the 19th.
EEK! Yes, Debi - I'll fix that right away....Thanks!! L
Whew! Done! I must have made a Freudian slip since ours was on the 19th on the same weekend last year......Such a pleasant memory of seeing everyone, so I must have just slipped back in time for a moment! LOL Thanks again, Debi!
I may be adding a guest....Pat. If she comes, she'll bring cookies.
Oooh - just found this thread. Although it's just a hop, skip and jump for me, I can only say maybe at this point. (That's the weekend before my annual financial audit begins which usually means working around the clock to get ready. Maybe this year will be different since I hired some extra help....)
Sure hope you can come, Christina! Shall I add you as a possible?
i expect you here to check out the japanese lanterns:)
Is it a dig up your own lantern party too? Yes, put me down as a maybe :)
of course Jen!!!
ok a strong maybe
oh Bill I told Randy he has to load up one of our pudding stones in the truck for you.. I just got the look... but I will work on him
allison not sure what a pudding rock is:) picture?
the ones we have look like the 3rd photo... I will look though the retaining wall photos I am sure I will find one of them in there
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puddingstone_%28rock%29
Just to let you all know that I'm lurking on this thread. I'm hoping for fabby pics.
nice allison - big purple or pink would be nice:)
I might ship a large Yankee rock.
does look like a hunk of asphalt
Probably looks like Steinbrenner, and decays quickly...
Allison, why is there puddingstone where you are? I thought it was primarily around Boston.
Geeze - nice comment, given he just died this morning.
Oh, I thought it was a typical Victorish comment; didn't pay attention to when he died or when you posted! Sorry, just thought you were being terrifically funny again....
don't know why Carrie.... but it's all over here... dig a hole and find some pretty rocks .. the guy at the end of my street has one as big as a smart car in front of his house... Bill the pink is acutally sandstone... I think.. when they dug up the yard for the retaining wall... I was walking around picking up all the smaller pretty ones... and asked the large ones to be put on the side... I will see how much convincing Randy will need to part with a couple
Huh! That's odd. I was always led to believe it was a Boston area phenomenon. I guess "they" don't know everything. And it sounds like yours is really lovely. Ours is mostly kind of a sandy gray, or a grayish sand color. (I don't have any, but it's definitely all around the area.)
allison if this will help you can have him look at this thread
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/873748/
carrie i was walking around my yard last night and my wife pointed out that it may not be as wheel chair friendly as i originally thought. there is a slope to get down into the backyard and then the yard itself does slope as i mentioned. and the front would be out of the question. she thinks it would be a problem. sorry if i had mislead you.
Bill
Sure wish we could work this in, meet some of you, and see Bill's place. We will only be home for 12 days between 2 weeks in the outer banks NC and 2 weeks in St. Augustine, Florida. That, and it's an 8 hours drive, which would be a 2 day over night minimum. Hope you have an after pic thread. Ric
I will email him the link Bill... keep your fingers crossed
We sure would love to meet you and Holly, Ric!! Do your best to come....the RUs are so much fun!
can always hitch a ride from here Ric
Count me in, Bill! I just got the word from Louise that you were going to be doing this, so I went and looked for the thread. I have to admit that I spend so much time just keeping up with the threads that I frequent, that I fail to check for new threads posted in my fave forums. I wish there was a way that we could get alerts for when new threads are posted in fave forums. That would be very helpful to someone like me.
Anyhow, count myself and my Dad in, and probably my friend Karen, too. It's almost 2 hours for me, but that's ok. If anyone from here needs a ride, I have room for one more.
No weeds? I don't know how you do it. I just cannot keep this place weed free. Do you have migrant workers who come in and pull all your weeds for you? I'll be looking over your place very, very carefully, and if I see one weed it will be photographed and posted! (Frankly, I'd be embarrassed for you to see my gardens, especially the weed jungles!) :)
Donniebrook (Louise) wrote: "Activities will include a rock wall building competition, a gallant soldier weed hide and seek, and a Japanese Maple dig up for those who wish to take one home as a souvenir. Bill has offered to make and serve an 8-course dinner on tables with linen cloths, but I thought we might all want to bring a dish for lunch instead since he's now working again. " LMAO!!!!!! Louise, you are too funny!!!!!!
Bill, I have a nice, big chunk of white quartz I can bring you.
Karen
LOL
I'll bring you a little rock to show you the ones I have in my yard, I know you'll be soooo impressed
LOL!!!!
that's great karen - louise is my ru planner and is doing a great job
LOL, Karen and Bill too!! Karen, I think when Bill said, "No weeds", he meant that he didn't want anyone to bring any weeds, not that he was guaranteeing no weeds.
Great that you guys can come!!
Signed,
The wedding planner....oops, i mean the ru planner........LOL LOL
