Best/Worse & What did I learn today..visit with friends

LOL Betty, I'm exhausted this evening, and can't quit coughing darn that head cold I knew it was going to cause this, so I just took some nighttime Robitussin Cough, I'll be going nighty night before too long. Lol Jeff... what a hoot he is!

Aren't these pretty as well..if I measure 3 times and cut once and don't spoil all my wood, just maybe I'd have enough to do this one...


Barb, how long will it take for you to get your hearing aid? oh my, Norm will have to watch what he says now won't he? you'll even hear a pin drop...

Off to bed I go..lot planned tomorrow..just got a call to say Rogers' Cable/Phone/internet provider will be here between hours of 8am - 11am..let's hope the service is better for my internet..not condusive these past few weeks to posting..takes forever and a day...

Best of today...everyone seemed in such a good mood and of course getting off early

Worse of today..seeing everyone who normally serves me with a smile at Fabricland look so sad..all having to look for more employment

What did I learn today...going to be in big trouble when Fabricland closes..visited 3 shops and all had very little in them...so my learn is..more trips to Joann's across the border...

Jeff, yes, he is a hoot..told me not to be surprised to find him, his girlfriend..ooops told my not a girlfriend just a friend called Julie, that they'd both have the kayak's in my pond next Wednesday afternoon trying them out...said he has to pack everything a few times to see where all goes where as he's increased his equipment this year..he's on a high, could tell by his rambling..more like his mom than he cares to admit...excitement brings on rambling..bet you did learn that about me right Crissy... you get loud, I get rambling...lol

Betty that's horrible about Fabricland but at least they know it's going to happen and weren't surprised by showing up for work one day to a closed store.

Yes it is! He's very excited, told me that he needs to go back to work before his family gets him in bigger trouble than he's already in. ROFLOL ain't that the truth!

LOL I wish! This cough will stay with me for months, the Asthma causes my Bronchial Tubes to constrict and therefore the congestion can't drain properly, causing a Chronic Cough. It could very easily turn into Bronchitis too so I have to be very careful.

One morning, the husband returns the boat to their lakeside
Cottage after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap.

Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out.
She motors out a short distance, anchors, puts her feet up,
And begins to read her book.
The peace and solitude are magnificent.

Along comes a Fish and Game Warden in his boat.
He pulls up alongside the woman and says, 'Good morning, Ma'am. What are you doing?'

'Reading a book,' she replies, (thinking, 'Isn't that obvious?')

'You're in a Restricted Fishing Area,' he informs her.

'I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing. I'm reading.'

'Yes, but I see you have all the equipment.
For all I know you could start at any moment.
I'll have to take you in and write you up.'

'If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault,' says the woman.

'But I haven't even touched you,' says the Game Warden.

'That's true, but you have all the equipment..

Game Warden shakes his head...'Have a nice day ma'am,' and off he goes......

Good morning ladies. Betty I have a fitting appointment with the Dr for the hearing aids on July 29. Hope impressions he took yesterday were accurate and I can get them then. He goes on vacation the week after that so I wouldn't be able to get in for another week after that....So Norm needs to put up with my "What???" for a while longer!!!!
How long did your rain last yesterday? It is just starting here (I get what you have about a day later!!) Today is the Hillsborough Balloon Festival so I guess there are a lot of unhappy people. Hopefully the rain won't last too long.
I'm off to apply for that Passcard this morning. I'm grateful they have the cameras for passport photos there so I don't need to go running around for them.
I don't think it takes as long to get the card as it does for a full passport.
We had Sean overnight last night as Stacy had an involved paper to write for school. He is good but sometimes doesn't understand about her need to concentrate and for quiet. So we find it is better for both of them if we take him for a night. Must go get Sean some breakfast - have a great day.

I have been MIA. Too much going on here. School is officially "over" as son got his report card and passed...did well on exams etc. OMG, he is an official Senior. Now I will deal with what Mary did with her son.....although...I am still dealing with the attitude issues.

HOT HOT HOT here all week. Up in the mid 90s. Yesterday temp dropped....and it rained for 6 hours. We so needed it. Today a high of 82 sounds pretty good.

You have all been so busy!

LOL Debbie! It took us north toward Cleveland instead of South to Interstate 70 whatever! It was kinda neat, we ended up in this little town in the hills, I could have spent some time there, I'm sure Betty could have too, but we just didn't have it. I love the Appalachian Mountains. Anyway, we go into this Walgreens and they tell Betty that the GPS's don't work in Pittsburgh and the immediate area because the mountains block the satellite signals. They should have signs posted along the freeways or something to let people know that. By that time we were so far north we were almost at I-80, so, because of my bright idea lol we took that instead of I-76 or whatever Interstate that is, we found a welcome center and stopped to buy a map. That helped a lot and I will never travel without one ever again. It seems the GPS's worked a lot better when they first came out than they do now.

LK - not my birthday - yet ! A co-worker... Yes Betty - I guess it's like 'empty nest' syndrome...only the kids are still here LOL! They just have their own thing to do...and I'm tired of waiting around for them to come home...

Welcome to your Senior Year Deb ! Grad invites, Thank you notes, Senior nights, and the "LAST OF EVERYTHING" homecoming, prom, etc. etc. I can't believe ya'lls "summer" is just starting. We have school clothes back on sale here... it's weird not really having to deal with that for the first time... (I'll let DH deal with DSD's... )

Crissy - it never really occurred to me that mountains would keep the GPS from working so that's good to know. We don't have mountains here...but I suppose if I found myself navigating around some...I'd need a map.... for sure

Taking a break for a sandwhich..at 8am Sailor started to barb, thought Rogers was here..no, it was Bernie, doing a few steps down from back balcony..worked along with him..too funny, at one point he said 'so who is the worker and who is the helper of this project' yikes, guess he told me off in a good way..much accomplished, ran out of wood, all wood he used came from his place at no charge, I wanted to run to Midland and pick up what we were short of but he insisted that I wasn't to do so and he'd be back another day to finish up...

In another corner of the world Greg dropped by to fix the tire on my wheelbarrel..told him it was a morning must..lol..

Tubby, got all the birdhouse pieces cut...going to go outside and drum up some containers for the hypertufa then I'll put the houses together either tonight or tomorrow so that the next step will be paint all white...

Rogers has everything done, said the problem with slow reception is my computer so will have to have Jeff check it over and get rid of some of the junk..the girls a few weeks ago added programs, at that time it started to be really slow so who knows...might need to get rid of some..did degrag already so it's not that...

That's beautiful Bev...how striking...how did you make out with your entry for photographs..have they chosen yet? Your babies are doing ok then even with all this heat?

I'll have to take a photo Bev of the weeds I've pulled just this morning..omg, weeds are 5 to 7 ft. tall..makes them easier to determine they are weeds...lol..lots more to do in the back...

I'm starting to tire..pushing myself now..just came to get the brad nailer, putting some struts on an arch I made so that vines will grow on it, then while I have the nailer outside will put the 5 birdhouses together, no ambition to paint them but at least if they are together well, one step closer right...

Couch looks so inviting..only ate 1/2 of my chinese food last night, so no having to cook tonight either...makes life easy..I'm getting to be one lazy lady...

Saving my strength for tomorrow, doesn't all have to be done today, am sure it doesn't....

I don't take them to the fair until after the 19th and they will judge on the 23rd I think.

Still awhile away isn't it....did you get all you wanted to do Bev done? tremendous amount of work this gardening isn't it?
Was just thinking awhile ago while walking the gardens, before long we'll be into August and it's fall, gardens will all but be done...time is passing far too quickly!

Tubby, got 3 out of the 5 houses done, the other 2 smaller ones are cut, but you know, with no measurements I'm on the big side again, so just might go with a grouping of 3, we'll see tomorrow after I do the placement..

Not sure if Bernie can make it tomorrow to finish the deck but he did secure and make a temp. step down until he comes back and finishes...

Best of my day..all around fun day, lots of company, lots of help...can't get better than that!

Worse of my day..can't say there was anything bad...

What did I learn today..you sure can accomplish a lot if you fight being tired..lol

I don't get too much done in the shade garden. There is a snake out there and a family of groundhogs under my garden shed.

Morning, yes Thunder, was going through a magazine and saw birdhouse condo and thought I'd give it a try, not quite as elaborate as the photo but once painted I'm sure it will do for the back end of the yard..

Bev, snakes, yikes, not good..I've never seen a sname in my flower garden, with all the rocks around the pond I'm sure there may be some..when on the farm had a rock garden and from time to time snake would crawl out of the rocks, ended that roadside garden...ooh not sure what I'd do here..

Do the groundhogs makes holes all over or do they just call it home? Bernice across the road when she visited Friday told me she has a large critter (forgot what it was already) and it's eaten a good part of her garden..between critters/heat etc poor flowers don't have much of a chance sometimes..

Going to have my coffee, not sure if Bernie will come this morning, sometimes as does his oldest sister, he gets antsy so we'll see, in the meantime I'm off in search of containers to try hypertufa..

Yikes, just came in for a break, Bernie just left...oooh I'm one lucky sister...

He brought the planks to finish the deck area, now my mind is swirling as to how I can decored and make a garden..have a water fountain on front deck I never use, might be time to change it to the back...

He had things to do but wanted to finish that project..as we were walking to his truck about 10am, he saw all my wood for the shed I was making covered with a tarp? Said how about I tell you how to proceed...ok with me...lol..

After a few questions on each step, now remember I had all panels together just needed to put them all together to form the garden shed...well, he answered a few of my concerns, BAD ME, some of them I pretended I really couldn't graps, so he put the sides together with my help, then hmmmm how about the door, do you think the hinges are ok, hmmmm....so, before he left all the shed was put together except for the roof which Greg has to come and cut the tin AND I've got to order rough cut wood for floor, shelf and seating area which I'll do first thing tomorrow morning...now he asked where this project will go, hmm not sure, got to find an area that it will once it has a garden and is decorated not show up too much but just as something you come across in a little corner of my woods...Bernie just shook his head...so, the more we work the more projects need done...

It's already going on 2..best I can hope for today is do the hypertufa plant containers as a trial project..

Birdhouses I can paint in the evenings this week..don't have the main board to attach them to or the 4x4 to cement in the ground, might put it near my shed once I know where that is going..more things for TimBrr to deliver..cement/4x4's and a grinder..don't have one but need one..saw that today!

Will call Melanie (DIL) as she said she wouldn't mind the corner plant unit outside..if she says no (more likely Greg says not because he likes his yard just so) then a neighbor will want it I'm sure....must go call...

Crissy, your deck is ready, you can walk early morning through the gardens without disturbing me..lol

Once the metal roof has been attached it won't be far off the one I saw and wanted...perhaps a little bigger that's all!

with the door...have to check on bigger hinges..Bernie does think the ones I had will do but I'm not so sure..
