Gypsies bringing in the harvest

Delhi, LA

It can't be to late for pumpkins, I just planted mine. My buddy who raises them every year says plant in July for Halloween pumpkins.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

You have to get them in the ground early here Jim, the frost can hit as early as September and then bam their gone.

Venice here is a fern site with lots of pictures if you know the name of your fern, they all look pretty much alike to me but none looked anything like the thing I posted, looks more tropical to me. http://www.ct-botanical-society.org/ferns/index.html

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I am not going to worry about the names of the plants any more. Isn't that what JJ said also? I don't need to go nutty just trying to find a name. If sometime I am curious and want to know a flower's name, I will look it up then.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Thats right Venice if you like it thats what counts. If you were going to sell them or trade for something then it may be important..so the other person gets what they wanted or traded for.

Good to know Jim. Maybe there is hope yet. If the farmer don't pick the corn to early.
Planted them in a bare spot in his field. LOL

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Hot Dang! That is a fern! It's a Birds Nest Fern (Asplenium Nidus) Who would have thought??? http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4ADSA_enUS361US363&q=asplenium+fern Those people on the plant ID know their plants. :-)

I was going to guess some type of philadendrium.

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

LOL JJ!
Making use of the neighbors land? LOL
Smart thinking. With my luck, I would plant something in the BF's neighbors fields and he would spray for weeds then and kill it.
BF's place is fields on all sides. Well there is a road that goes between his house and one field. When we look out we see corn across the road and soybeans all around us there.

Nice pictures flowers. I have so many calla lilies because I do keep them over from year to year. I just dig them out of the pots every year and store the bulbs in a cool area. (the potting soil gets dumped on my BF's garden then). By spring time they are starting to sprout and waiting to get in the pots again. This year I'm thinking about storing them in the pots. Still trying to decide if i want to do that or not.

JJ, I plan on going with a company again only because I need the health insurance. If I didn't need that I would probably do it on my own. I think I have seen someone run an add like that in the paper up there.

DIL's mother leaves tomorrow. I know I have a cat that will be very happy then. She has been almost attached to my hip since the MIL has been here. LOL
Right now she is laying on my scanner to be near me and away from the MIL.
When I have cats that don't like people, that makes me wonder.

Weeelll there was this big empty spot right next to my property that the corn didn't grow in.( all the rain must have washed seed away) I waited to see if he was going to replant and after the corn was knee high I figured he wouldn't be back in the field until picking time.
So just went for it. They are seeds for GIANT pumpkins. I only started two plants and only suppose to leave one pumpkin per vine to get a big one.
Time will tell. LOL

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

What a cute picture. Is she trying to escape the MIL? LOL
I understand about the insurance, bout the time ya didn't have any something would happen that you needed it.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

That kitty is cute Kassy, she knows who loves her! JJ hope your pumkin gets big before the neighbor finds it :-) My mater tater isn't looking too good :-(

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Delhi, LA

Thank you so much for the birthday greetings.

You are right flowers, I never look older. I looked 69 when I was 40.

(Zone 5b)

hahaha funny Jim!

Delhi, LA

Unfortunately, I'm telling the truth.

I can't wait to turn 90, I'll be the best looking old codger in the nursing home. All the old ladies defibralators will go off when I roll by in my wheelchair.

LOL Jim, you really know how to have fun in the senior years!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I can see it noe. Jim rolling down the hallways and his beautiful Rose hot on his trail. LOL

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Yeah and Jo right behind her with a bedpan to konk her with LOL

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

LOL Flowers I meant Jo, I just remembered he called he his beautiful Rose once when she was in a picture with his roses.

Delhi, LA

By whatever name you call her, she is my sweetie. In September we will celebrate 49 years of marriage.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Wow congratulations.
I don't know why but Rose sticks in my head instead of Jo. I think because there are roses in all the pictures I've seen of her.
In my defense I can't remember my own name half the time. LOL

(Zone 5b)

neither can we hahahaha just kidding.
49 years that is something. 13 for me this year.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I'll be the first to admit I am terrible with names. Never forget a face, but can't put a name to it. Have talked to many a people who know me and when I walk away ask myself "who was that" LOL

Delhi, LA

You ought to be a preacher jj. I have become an expert at talking to people and never having to call them by name. It can get embarrassing. I have a trick that works for me if I have time, when I meet someone new, if I take a pen and write their name while looking at them I never forget it. Works for me.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I think it forces your brain to process the information differently if you are writing it down.

Delhi, LA

I guess so Smiley. I tried association once, the guys name was Cotton, I thought (being a red neck farm boy), cotton is white, that is my association. So, everytime I saw him I called him Mr. White. I should have associated it with back ache.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Drives my DH crazy he knows everyone so someone is always asking hme how he's doing.
I'll come home and say " someone asked about you today but danged if I know who it was". Then he tries to get me to describe them...it's hopeless. LOL

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Hummmmmmm can see how you would get white out of cotton Jim, but how the heck do you get cotton out of backache LOL Me too JJ, I just say Hey Honey, or Hey Buddy or something to that effect.

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Happy belater Birthday Jim. Sorry I wasn't one for a while. At BF's now and taking pictures again ^_^

Our Borage. I snaped this shot fast as the skeeters where about to carry me away. I'll see if I can get a better picture of it tomorrow if it's not raining again!

A new color of hollyhock ^_^
Got the seeds for this from the wife of one of my BF's friends. Need to go over there one of these days to get some pictures of hers. I think she gave me seeds from all of them, but I haven't planted them all yet.
