۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞193

Hi Twyla, Donna!!

LK, nothing mysterious about Chinese stir frying!! As long as you have Kikkoman's soy sauce, you're on your way to claiming having Chinese genes!!

Cookie.. no fault of yours dearie. Just sitting too long in a cramped seat on the plane!

Ric, I do have the red TV. It's planted wayyyyyyyy across the house and along one side of a fence. I'd love to acquire the apricot one.

This is Ric and Robyn. I so enjoy chatting with Robyn.. but I haven't forgiven her for not leaving some corn behind!!
Ric... I'm into hedychiums.

Edit to correct Ric's SO's name.
Forgive my CRS moments.

Psst-tante-over here (that's Robin, not Joyce)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thank you Stacey...Lolol..

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Well...hmmm...could swear that's Robyn and not me! Think you've got Joyce on the brain!!! LOL

Tink....I wish you had said something....I've been trying to give that stuff away all year! Not all of course, but it's trying to get in the path, and I need to contain it a bit. It is a cool plant, and I just love the leaves, they're so "toothy".

Had to laugh about Chris playing with the toys....bet you didn't know that I dug them out of your bag after you had them all put up for going home and played with them....wish I'd gotten some for me, now! ^_^

Funny about that TV in the driveway. Never saw it before and earlier this year I saw ditch lilies in there that I've never seen before either! They've either been hiding, or were gifts from a mysterious stranger!

Well if this message suddenly stops it is because my keyboard is flooded with tears!!! Have read all the notes and looked at the pictures and so sad I had to miss all of the fun and meeting the new Sistahs. Unfortunately, life does call and interruptions happen.

My sister is doing okay--still advised to be extremely careful with her lifting for a while. She called this morning to say how lonely her and Mom were and wanted to know when I was coming back down. No clue at this time but I do know it won't be as long between visits in the future. Mom had really lost ground with her mobility and that is of great concern now.

Thanks for everyone's kind words and prayers. Next time my sister has to fill the cow feeder I think she will move the sleeping kitties from her "Gator" and drive the food out to the pasture.

Cookie, noticed in one of the post about meeting in Gatlinburg. How about Pidgeon Forge? Kim and I have rented cabins there and it was very reasonable--not to mention wonderful views, and huge. We even had a hot tub which we really enjoyed. We could check for the off season and get an even better rate. I hate I missed seeing your beautiful gardens.

Everyone know, I really, really missed hugging all and sharing in the wonderful fun of Tink's baby shower.

Need to run as I have yet to unload the car--to tired last night. Traffic was horrible yesterday and I can only imagine what it will be like today.

BTW, yes, Tink I was "sorta" keeping track and I do remember Susan (Canada) commenting about a diaper bag but was under the impression it was more of what I refer to as a diaper stacker. Could be wrong. I will send out the goodies I just couldn't resist on Tuesday.

Love you all.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

((((Marion)))), you were with us in thoughts, that's for sure. Glad you're home safe and sound.

Sure, Pigeon Forge is fine. If enough of us can go, it won't be bad at all. I'd love to plan for October when the leaves are in color. Course, Tink wouldn't be able to go then but maybe we could struggle along without her just once!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

It was only 450.00 which included a $50.00 cleaning fee when Kim and I went but then we had just a cabin that sleep 6. 2 bedroom, 2 Baths, full kitchen; the beds were huge queens and there was a sleeper sofa downstairs. Hummm, might need to check into that.

Thanks for the thoughts. Yes home and exhausted but the good news, we had rain the entire time and it is raining now. My garden is looking great.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Auntie M-I searched and searched and finally found it in the other building. It was Barb-we got it all straightened out;) Glad you are home safe and sound even if you are a bit tired.

Joyce-with that area being in a warmer climate and everything, their leaves won't go til probably very late Oct, early Nov, you think?? Just makes sense to me....

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Yes, Tink, about the end of October. We used to go every year to see the leaves, and they decorate really cute for Fall, too. So while you're pushing.... ;o) we'll be having fun....oops...didn't mean to say that! (yes, I did, the devil made me do it).

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Good Tink. Yes, I am tired but would and most likely will do it again for my Mom. Thank goodness she is a feisty lady and hasn't given up but I (Kim too) can see she is losing ground almost daily with her mobility. She is so thin and just doesn't have the strength to pull herself up from a sitting position.

Take good care of my nephew--remember I get to show him Disney!!!!!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

LOL, now you know when we hear she is in labor, we will all be pushing with her--that is what we do. BTW, wishing you deliver as fast as I did with mine---2 hours with Kim. Sorry, the devil made me say that.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Shame, shame:(

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Tink, you better give Chris some of our phone numbers, so when that days gets here, we will know about it. Maybe give him Jaye's number so she can let us know?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Just did labels for my hosta...didn't realize I had so many. 64 different ones. Not counting the ones that I don't know the names of and the ones that are duplicates! Still so many on my wish list, too!

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

That is a lot of labels...

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Here is a link to all the baby shower goodies:)

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh Tink, what beautiful things you have! I will chime in on boys--just wait until you hold him and from there on until he takes a wife, he will be your protector!! I wanted a boy first but had to go the second time. Take care of yourself.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Don't get too many tiny items, as they will wear them only a few time. They grow fast than you think they do!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I did register for some 3-6 mos as well, but have been told by a good friend that we need way more than what we have/registered for at first. Between the pooping and the puking, they dirty stuff up fast;)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

She's got that right!

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

LK-when she saw the first list and I only had a couple bibs and burp cloths she freaked and told me I would need around 15-20. Said she went through 6 a day for the first couple mos. Thank goodness she told me, cuz really-how am I supposed to know unless someone tells me:)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning!!
You're up early Stacey!
Think I'll look up online and see whether I could make you some bibs.
I agree... you need more than just a dozen :D

Back to Kelvin's schedule today. On the afternoon shopping list will be hunting for his work shoes. Size 13 1/2 is much easier to find than Bill's size 15!

Coffee's on.... cream cheese and bagels.

BBL.. off to the gardens.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Tante-I slept in this am;) I am doing laundry for work today. Then after work i have to go to the grocery store. It is supposed to be over 90 here the next 2 days and I don't plan on going anywhere for those.

Bibs are great-we have 7 so far, including the cute white one Mom made us that I am already afraid to ruin;)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Make sure you stock up on threft or some other baby soap for the first 6 months or so. There little skin sometimes does not like the regular soap we use all the time. There are lots to learn about little ones, but some will just be natural instict.

Morning everyone! Donna don't work too hard. Sounds like the garage is coming along good.
Jaye, how is your knee doing today. Has your body caught up with you yet from the trip?

Look what I bought yesterday. It is called Peter Pan Lily of the Nile. Agapanthus africanus peter pan.
I have a white one and two of the blue/light purple. I got them at wal mart yesterday, just as they came off the truck. Now I need to go and read about them. I may put them out in the angel trumpet garden. They are supposed to bloom from mid summer to early fall, and good for the hummers and butterflies. Do any of you have any, what can you tell me about them?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Guess I better put the picture in?
I could not pass them up, they were only 5 bucks!

LK, I do have an agapanthus of the blue variety.
Mine are grown in partial shade as full sun will be too hot for them here.
Keep them well watered for the growing season.
Need to look some for Cookie, as I've promised her for her pond.

^_^ !

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hehehehe.. thought you'd agree, Cookie!!
They are beautiful!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Check your wal mart. At 5 dollars per plant, that is not too bad. Let me know, and I can get some here if you want me to, I can mail them.
Jaye, do the spread from the roots, or produce seeds?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'll check my WM and Lowe's and if they don't have it, I'll send you some $$. Thanks LK.
Better to divide them after a couple of years... via bulbs. Heard that seeds take too long.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Happy 4th of July!!!!!!!
Stay safe. Blessings to all.
Charleen and the Longear Gang

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks Charleen, you all have a happy celebration!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

LK-they landscape almost every apt complex with them in CA that we saw and lived in. They do like shade, even in a more moderate climate that yours. They spread/multiply pretty quickly and will soon look like bushes. They didn't seem to take a lot of special care except plenty of water.....

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

Jaye i tried seeds 3 or 4 times never came up.. they are so pretty ..

Fairy, going to try get out tuesday wed for gift and then take me another day or 2 to get in mail sorry. but glad to know its boy so know that.

blessings evereyone.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Lily of the nile grows in almost full sun around here, I do not have any myself, but in lots of "the villages" landscaping...they get very good watering, automatic systems come on every third day....

I keep saying one of these days I will get some...they are around a lot of the ponds. and at a lot of restaurants, don't get any fussing over...but do get the watering....

Victoria Harbour, ON

July 4th. is finally here...

Prayers for those who are keeping us safe, may their families know how grateful we all are for their efforts...

Do enjoy your day!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thank you Betty, you have a great day also!

I put the lilies in the back yard, and it took all of 10 minutes for the hummers to find it!
