Cookie gives great big 'armwraps' but I am so afraid to return in kind, as I don't want to 'crush' her.
LK, Judy will be here around 1 and Sue Taynor as well. We are still so hoping for Marion and Kathy to show up but there's always another time.
This gracious hostess must have bought a brand new matterss just for moi and the most luxurious pillows as I slept well for the first time in years!!
Breakfast was coffee and kiwi fruits with the birds giving a regal morning show. Finches feeding on thistle.. never have I seen them before.
As soon as I get off posting, I'll grab my coffee and sit by the pond.

I have a question. We burn all our extra cardboard boxes and papers, so it does not fill the landfill. Can I use those ashes in the garden, or will it hurt the soil?

Yes, LK you can. I even use the ashes from the fireplace. But you don't want to use alot in one spot.
It sure is quite without the rest of the gang :( Hope they are having a good time. Doug said he was sorry I couldn't go this year but for next year we will ride to Judy's. Do you know if Judy is going to have her's at her cabin by the lake or at their main home? Would be really cool if it was at the lake ^_^

How is your Mom doing? Any luck with Dougs SS?

Mom is doing real good. Walking with a cane. Standing in one place is hard yet. I have a stool on wheels that she can use when cooking or doing dishes. She is going to have to use it, because Doug and I will be gone camping all of next week. It seems things are moving along with SSD, they have his med records from KY just need new doc records now. He is at the doc's now, to see what more he will do for him. Doc needed his med records so that he could see what pain meds he had been taking in the past and wants him to have an MRI. Seems there is a pinched nerve somewhere that is making his arms and hands fall asleep.

Ah, so his problem is in his neck! Hope he gets SS soon, so he can get tretment for it. Surgery is n o fun, but I have known several that went through it with n o problem. They go through the front of the neck.

LK! Oh my special sistah....Judy just gave me your box. How sweet of you to send me rocks for my garden, and I will definitely put your name on them so I can think of you and smile as I look at them. It really makes me feel as if you are truly here with us!

We just finished dinner and the gabbing is going strong. What a wonderful group of women!

I'll let Judy know you were asking about next year. She said, maybe Wisc. so that's what I'm hoping for as well.

Love you guys, wish you and Cindy both could have been here with us, but you are here in our hearts and our thoughts! Sis Kathy and Marion, too.

Morning Tink, how you doing today? Still getting morning sickness?

Morning Ladies,

LK, Doug's problem isn't just his neck it's his whole back. It was broken in three places about 11 years ago. I have ran my hands up and down his back and can feel the vertbreas when they swell. It is awful!!! This really has him upset because he likes working especially concrete work. When he was here last week he did some work on the walkway thru the flower garden and it did him in big time. He is used to working 12 to 16 hours a day. I keep telling him he's not 30 anymore and can't expect to work like that forever. He likes doing wood work. So we are going to start making birdhouse and things together and maybe do some craft fairs. But first we are going to some traveling on the scooter. His dad met a lady that lives in Oregon and is moving up there with her soon. So we will be taking lots of rides to Oregon. And hopefully to Judy's for the next reunion.

Stacey, that baby blanket is going to be so cute. I have lots of patterns for making baby clothes so I will make some things for him. It has been a very long time since I've made any baby clothes.

Make sure he knows, that if he gets approved for SS, he will only be allowed to work so many hours, If he works more than allowed, they will cut him off.
It may help if he can get his Dr, to write a statement that says he is no longer allowed to work, due to his problems. Put him on restrictions of lifting, pulling... It will also help if he is on meds for depression. It will put him in a mental category, and here in Texas, it is almost a promise of approval.

Well, he came home with many many scripts yesterday for pain, one for the nerve pain, sleeping pills. The pain gets so bad at night sometimes he can't sleep. The doc has not gotten his med records from KY yet. He is going for x-rays Monday to see why his arms keep falling asleep. I really don't think he will have a problem getting approved. The pain that he is in on a daily basis is awful. He wakes up in the mornings and can hardly stand up. Sometimes he'll be just walking and his legs give out on him. And because of his back he can't get any jobs. When he does do concrete work it is for people that know about his condition and they pay him under the table. I need to write a letter for him but I am just not good at writing things like that.

Hopefully they can find the pinched nerve causing his arms to fall asleep. So sorry he is going through rthis. I know it is not fun.

He just told me that he did tell his doc that he is depressed and also that he is going crazy, lol. I asked him what did the doc say and he said the he said "Ok"

Oh yea, the pain makes him so angry.

It is bad to be in pain and not know the cause of it. My feet used to do me that way.

It seems I have lost my way again and haven't been keeping up with all the posts. I thought I had said that the angiogram on DH turned out fine, no blockage so no stent or blood thinners. He sees the heart doctor on the 30th of this month then can schedule the surgery on his shoulder. I seem to roam around to so many places and I miss out on all the news Finally got my scanner and software to work together so I could copy some mosaic patterns from a library book. Don't know why it took me so long to use it. Now to learn how to scan pictures and burn them on a CD.

Goodness Cindy, that is HOT! It is supposed to be like 98 again, but our humidity is supposed to be close to that also. So when you put 98 degrees, with 80% humidity, that makes for a hot day! We stay inside with the AC on.'
I just talked to the girls, and they are all having a great time. Cookie got lots of nice rocks for her garden, and it looks like Judy got hired to be the cook! Must be some good food there. Stacey said the breakfast omelots were very good! She also got lots of nice things for the baby showers!
Jaye is really enjoying her vacation she said!
Sure wish I could be there to give you all hugs. Hopefully next year.
