Hey there ladies.
Sue, I think Charleen is right. Only vampire bats will drink the blood and leave the meat alone.
Perhaps you could ask your local vet?
Cindy, have a safe trip!
It's now down to just me... Judy left this afternoon.
But before they left, Cookie brought us to a Koi farm and she's surprised with a blue butterfly Koi. That's from all of us sistahs...the ones who attended and the ones who couldn't make it.
The rest of the evening, we just kick back and chill... Chat and laugh like sistahs do. I've been missing that real life sistahood camaraderie, and this reunion is good for my spirits.
Tomorrow will be a day of rest for these old bones. So far I've been holding up with the walking, until this afternoon. My knees went jello on me.
I'll post pictures of the baby shower, etcetra.. on Thursday. Will be flying home Wednesday afternoon, so be patient please.
In the meantime, I'll try to get Henryr to post one of the group pictures here.
Tubby, you've missed a great show!! The ladies were 'flashing' at Cookie's!!
Well, maybe you can make it at the next Sistahs' Reunion and make sure to bring Shirley along!
LK, I'm glad Kel managed to get hold of you on FB :D
Well, good night ladies. Sistah Cookie's already in bed. When Judy's here, we'll chat past midnight, and now, I guess I better do the same.
Oh.. btw.. Sue (Taynors) make the best pickled beets and greens!!

Does anyone remember who volunteered to make the diaper bag?????? I have some material I think would be really cute for it...
Good morning ladies!
Thank you so much Ric (Henryr). You're truly an original, a walking plant encyclopedia. It was a pleasure meeting you and your SO, Robyn. Looking forward to seeing you both again and maybe there'll be a coleus bearing your name in the future.
FIRST PICTURE: For those wondering, the tallest lady in the group is Sue.. our new 'chicken' sistah! She should fit in this group, as we are all 'cluckers'!
The one flanked by Stacey and Cookie is Bertie. That's also her DG moniker and she hangs out on Cookie's thread and ORVG. She has a gorgeous pond too.
Notice the common t-shirts we're wearing in the second pic? Sistah Judy has gifted us each with a hand drawn tie-dye shirt. I'll take a pic of mine and will post later.
It says "Sweet Interruptions 2010" and also has her famous armwrap on everyone.
Of course, they're wearing their own reversible aprons, made by moi. How I managed to get them finished in time? Except for Cookie's and Judy's (who smokes), there are no pockets for the rest. So that saves a lot of cutting and sewing time.
Absolutely resting today, LK. Supposed to go to an antique mall, but that will have to be forfeited. Will need these legs for tomorrow!
Beautiful hummer!!
I've not seen one here, but I've been enjoying the finches feeding on Cookie's feeders.
Thanks for breakfast LK. Think I'll have a bagel too with some of Sue's delicious home made peach jelly. Low in sugar!
Sue, get down here fast!!! Think I talked Cookie's ears off last night!!
Have a beautiful day everyone!!!
Stacey, could it be Tallullah_B (SP)?
How are you and Jonathan?
Okay.. I'm off!
Tante-I have no clue-I thought Marion was keeping track at one point, but I could be mistaken...
I said I'd make the diaper bag, and now that I know it's a boy, I know just the material to use!
And if you have some to add to it, my bestest fairy, then pls send it!
And the party rolls on! We just finished grazing for lunch. Sue and her twins, Bertie, my DH, and me. Have to finish up those leftovers some time!
Jaye and I did have a wonderful chat last night as I finally finished th main part of Jonathan's blanket. Only the trim left to go!
Are you sewing one, knitting, crocheting?
Crocheting...on the border now! I'll take a picture when I'm finished, before I mail it to Jonathan. ^_^

Well, I think I have enough blankets;) Between Joyce, LK, my mom, MIL and myself (plus Barb I think) that gives me like 9;) He sure won't ever get cold;)LOL
You will be surprised, how fast he can get them dirty!
Whatever you'll be making for Stacey, knowing you Susan, it will be a beautiful one. And Stacey.. God bless her.. is very appreciative.
LK, Kel is supposed to leave you a private message on FB!! Hope he does it, if not I'll have to do it when I get home!
Yep.. last night here and I'll be flying home tomorrow afternoon.
The weather's beautiful today and am so lucky to have met Sue's beautiful twins... well behaved too!
Took pictures of them, and her daughter has the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. Like those of the Precious Moments Doll.
Bertie came over too, and we all had 'smogasbord' for lunch. Whatever's edible sitting in the fridge, they are all on the table!
Y'all need to taste the hummus Cookie made from scratch. I
Sue's pickled beets were popular too. There were cloves in the juice, and gave the pickles an 'oomph'!
Here I go raving about good Buckeye food!!
But before this, I watched Cookie and Sue 'harvesting' Japanese Beetles in the garden. Treats for Sue's chickens!!
Later in the afternoon, Cookie brought me to the Backyard Birds' store and this nice owner gifted me with a finch magnet after we told him that I've enjoyed watching the finches @ Cookie's.
Cookie wanted us to go out for dinner, but I rather stay home and rest. So, least I could do is cook for Cookie. Ehem.. yep, me cook?
Can't believe it's my last night. I'll be missing Cookie's Eden for sure.. but I'm ready to return to Kel and Lola and Rimau and our beaucoup cats!!
Good night everyone. Hugs!!
Morning everyone! Get some ilky spore for those japanese beetles. it is preicey, but it works, and it is cheapest at amazon.com.
That was so nice of the guy to give you the finch magnet.
So what did you cook?
No message from Kel.
LK-from what I am told I will be doing a load of laundry nearly every day!!LOL
Tante-you are right-I do appreciate all the time and effort it took for the handmade items. When I was a kid I hated handmade stuff, now I love it. You usually get something that is 1 of a kind and something that had love ingrained in each and every inch of it.
At least a load everyday! They can make messes coming from both ends! LOL! Chris will probably gag from it, but as a Mom it is something that must be done!
Actually Chris deals with poop and puke much better than I do;)
LOL! You will get used to it! Somehow it is different when it is your child!
Good morning ladies... Or should I say afternoon..
I have missed you all so very very much and we have had so many thing sgoing on but today I told my self I was going to check in..
First Im so sad that we missed the gathering at cookies.. sigh:( I really wanted to meet everyone and I wasnt able to get everything in order to make the trip up..
Okay just in case let me update everyone on where we have been and what crazy lives we have.. All goood news though so no sad stories I promise ( other than an update on Maxs uncle Jack)..
We got moved into a much bigger and nicer home as of May.. Whoo hoo Its ithe same town but almost outside of town with a huge 1 acre lot full of huge hickory, walnut and maple trees.. Right now the owner (my cousin) is building us a 2 car garage which we have needed for quite some time..
Max is still working at the company he was with which luckily is 3 minutes away from the new house.. He ma be getting into a machine shop very soon as the owner asked him if he would come back since he worked there years ago for 9 years in a row and heck his pictures are in the main lobby.. lol That woud mean about $4 more per hour too which is a bonus..
Im working the barbershop on Saturdays with the kids being out of school and doing landscaping when I have jobs available.. I also have a offer to get me in with a local school as a bus driver so I would work 4 hours a day and have time off when the kids are out of school... Really thinking I may take that job offer in to consideration and go talk to them.. Heck I could still work the shop on saturdays too...
Tony & tristen are doing great and loving the new house. They have tons of room to run and ride bikes all up and down the driveway... They both got the honor roll and passed their grades.. Tristen even got placed in the gifted progrm because her grades on the testing were double th enational average! Im one proud momma of my babies!
Trina and Teara have been visiting pretty regularly to.. We really enjoy getting to see them and they seem to be comming around pretty well .. We spent 6 days with them last week and I was even brave enough to take all 4 by myslef to the lake and it went very well.. Not even a argument when it was time to go home..
Amen to that statement, LK!
Jaye fixed the most wonderful beef stirfry. I watched like a hawk. After Bill ate his, he wanted to know if I was SURE I could do it just like that??!! Time will tell, but oh my....I just kept moaning while I was eating, it was just sooooo yummy. Jaye made it look simple, too.
That was the Wild Bird's Unlimited store that we went to, and he was really nice. Jaye wanted to leave a gift for the goldfinch that had amused her so much during her stay, so she got seeds for them and some sunflower seeds as well. I was complaining to the store guy that not one woodpecker had showed up while she had been here, and we have bed bellied and downys. Well, guess what showed up today? Several times? The red bellied. Jaye got a wonderful shot of it, so maybe she'll post it when she gets home.
We were watching JayeBird and the baby koi. Jaye was trying to get a shot of JayeBird, but she's a fast little thing!
I'm getting sadder as the time gets closer for her to head back to Kel, Lola and Remau...(plus all the other fur babies) but I understand that it is time to go. She, as well as all of you are always welcome here. I'll find a pillow for you and someplace to lay your head!
My camera is out of battery, and I can't find the charger. Think DH must have hid it. You know when it gets down to the last minute and you're expecting company, you just start shoving things in drawers and closets....LOL...well, I do anyway!!
Oh Donna, we cross-posted. I'm glad things seem to be going well for you. Jaye and I were just talking about you yesterday, and she was telling me that you had moved and were working at two jobs. Really, wish you could have come, but understand that life gets in the way!
Come any time!
Okay second posting... lol Didnt want to lose all that I typed out..
Big News...
Max and I have decided for our 7th wedding anniversary in July we are starting to save to have my Tubal Litigation Reversed.. Life is going so well and things are falling into place for us that we decided that even though we both love all our children very very much tht we want to have one together. He is also the only one in the family who is allowed to name another Max (hes hoping for a boy.. lol ) since hes the 4th Max in the family and his grandpa told everyone it was him or knobody before he passed away.. So if all goes well and we can save the money up hopefully by next year (Im not getting any younger) we will be trying and if we are blessed with a boy he will be named after his great grandpa Max Edward..
OOO Cookie it looks like I cross posted with you again.. lol
It sounds like you all had a such a wonderful time and yes I will make a trip up sometime.
Love the story of the woodpecker.. Max pointed a baby one out up in our maple out front yesterday. It was so cute hoping around pecking at the little tree branches .. His red was barley ohis head and then the blue jays and her babies.. We have birds and squirrels everywhere here!
Tink congrats on your baby boy! How excited you must be.. When is your due date? I have missed way too much ..
Donna that is great news. Hope you get a good Dr, to do the surgery, because I have heard it can be difficult to reverse with all the scar tissue and stuff. Praying it will be very successfull for you guys!
So nice to see you here, don't be such a stranger!
Sigh.. I was so upset when I realized that the gathering was only 7 hours from me and I actually had the time off..I would have loved to met everyone there. Course, it wouldn't have been fair, as I didn't go to Fruity's RU either..so would have been rude to show up at a different one! LOL..
But I'm planning on attending the next ones.. come heck or high water :)
Next year it is in Wisconsin and Judy's place. Seedtosser. It is not a round up, it is a gathering of the Sistah's...
Donna-he should be here around the 23rd of Oct;) Glad to hear everything is going well for you and the fam!!
LK thank you for your positve thoughts.. We are looking at a clinic in Jackson TN to have it done there.. The doctor has great reviews with lots of sucess and they look over your previous post op notes before they even make a descision based on those notes..
Will try my best to be here more often.. Things are settling down some finally..
Heres a pic from this weekend of our brood.. lol
Look at those smiling faces! And the girls have thier toes painted up all pretty too!
Little boy saying "Let's get this over with" they are all so cute.
On that second picture, that's Julia, Judy's daughter. She's such a sweetie-pie!
