Crissy, that is what scared me so much, the noise. I have been in two others, and things just moved....didn't feel like an explosion under my feet like this one did.

I hope Betty is OK, we are now under Tornado and severe storm warnings til late tonight.

That means it's going to be past when I land tomorrow, good. I hope you don't have any problems, or the airport doesn't get hit! Betty will be fine.

I've been in hundreds of earthquakes and each one is different. Some roll, some shake, some quiver, some make a little noise, some make no noise, I remember in 5th grade (this was the second scariest earthquake I've ever been in) we had a rolling one that was a 5. something and it sounded like pipes were breaking under the earth, then everyone was motion sick. The Loma Prieta quake in 1989 was the scariest.

Stacey - Seems like one of Nicholas Evans books struck me the same way... (too slow)... I did real The Loop and absolutely loved it. I also read SmokeJumpers and I think I liked it...but it may have been the slow developing one...

I heard someone at lunch (overheard) talking about that accident...it was a wonder that everyone was okay. (lightning).

Crissy & Deb - I watched that video... that is strange. I have no memories of being in any quakes (although we lived in CA for 7 years). LOL...my first thought was "why is this guy video-ing himself lifting weights !?!?!... :)

I'm worried about everyone... I'll pop back in a bit to check...

I agree with Barb. Praying all your travels are safe to and from Cookies place. Betty, hope your not having problems getting everything in your car! Remember we always come back with more than we left with! Get some boxes and mail it back if you have too!

I don't know about 18+... but I can speak for my Boy 1 through 18... and SO FAR (knock on wood) he has been my easiest in so many ways. (AND loves his Mama...although he gets so mad at me sometimes... we always get over it )

We're back..was a long ride home yesterday, when we arrived in my region it was torrential rain, but it did stop long enough for Crissy and I to see the beaches in Wasaga Beach, it's like being in Ft. Lauderdale..

Not the best weather today, trying to decide if we shall go to a few of local attractions and save Toronto for tomorrow...both have been under the weather...Wednesday night I came down with a head cold and spent 3 days with sinus headache and neuralgic head pain, sneezing etc. - now Crissy is down with same..hard to be upbeat when you are fighting a fever!

We did get to do Niagara Falls - Maid of the Mist, Crissy got fantastic photo's so she'll share when she gets home..had a great time at the get-together...was wonderful to meet and gab with old friend and meeting new ones..Stacey got some adorable baby things!!!!

Barb, you were right, came back with almost as much as I left with..got my R/W/B and also From my neck of the woods...Jaye had my name, she must know I've little in my refrigerator, lol, and had a box of homemade goodies...then Janice had my quilt blocks from everyone, work to do now putting it together...then treats from the ladies..felt awfully special....no trouble at the border going either way.

saw some gardens that put mine to shame lol..but not for long, got some ideas..managed to pick up some metal art, large basket and then the cutest squirrel..so lots of work ahead of me this upcoming weekend..

Wednesday was quite a day, the earthquake and then Midland had a tornado come through..destroyed over 30 homes in the park where my MIL and BIL live, all on the next road but has frightened my MIL to no end, would imagine she'll move...Greg's building had roof damage, bun factory demolished, Ideal Supply demolished and several companies and a car dealership ..no fatalities and that's what is important..Crissy and I drove through so I could show her where I shop and we took a look at the damage..

We're both slow moving today..want to go back and read the post but for now it's breakfast time, laundry and then out we go.

We will be waiting for pictures Betty. Crissy, so sorry your not feeling good!

You all were talking about trying to grow a lawn in Texas. It seems like St. Augustine grass would grow there. It can really take the heat (will not grow here in the mtns of NC). I remember it growing in Florida when I was a kid and in Savannah, Ga. Very trouble free.
What did I learn today? I couldn't pull out my hide-a-bed sofain the living room, but I got it open enough to pull through the mattress and vaccum it and behind and below it somewhat. Now I can't get the dratted thing back in. So....if a hide-a-bed doesn't want to come out all the way, then just close until you get help. I can't wait for my spousal unit to get home and see it. It's halfway, with the seat cushion thrown about and the mattress sticking out over the top of the sofa. It looks like it exploded.

Morning, we're both struggling with this cold, seems to be no air to breath..yuk..Tubby 2012 is at my place, rest, get better so you and Shirley can join us!!!

Yesterday we did Fort Ste.Marie Among the Hurons, a replica of the original fort..then crossed over the other sideof the road and did the Martyrs Shrine..it's on a high incline and the tornado did damage to the lower level, thank goodness not to the Shrine itself...also during the day a trip to Penetanguishene Naval Establishment and eats at the town dock..guess it was about 5:30 by the time we got home...

Crissy wanted a canadian dish for supper so I cooked Chicken and Slidders ..Noah dropped in for a few minutes and Kyle stayed and chatted with Crissy, letting her know she should watch over my cooking so I wouldn't burn it..lol..in Midland as well we dropped in to Tim Hortons where Greg was ordering lunch so although a brief meeting she did get to meet him as well..

We managed to stay up until 11..wanted to watch the end of a movie...oh/oh both fell asleep before the ending..

Our plans for today is having lunch at 360 totating floor of CN Tower, me who is afraid of heights... was telling Jeff when we dropped in that they want $34.95 to go up into the tower for viewing, he said why not book lunch it might be a few dollars and you can experience both for the cost of the lunch .. booked it for 1:00pm...can't understand why the minimum lunch is $35.00 and includes the ride up in glass elevator and seeing the upper observation deck and 5 cents cheaper if you just view...soooo we'll see if Jeff's right??? will be an experience..

Then we'll take in Casa Loma, by then it will be late afternoon, my plans are to either go to Jeff's for the night or my mom's and leave from there to bring Crissy to the airport on Wednesday morning..save 100 miles...we'll play that by ear...

Just had a bath so best I go do my hair as the painting girls will be arriving just after 8am and I want to visit a bit with them...

Will get back to gabbing with you all shortly..

We arrived home at about 10:00 P.M. last night...Smooth travels all the way.

Tubby, Yep, The Gathering will be at the Cottage in Montello Wi. Near Madison. Oh now I am even more excited if You and Shirley are able to come...Liz and I are planning I think for the 1st week in August. The exact weekend for gathering will get chosen soon.

Betty and Crissy, so bummed you both are not feeling well. I hope you feel good enough to still see all you want.
