See that, your wish is my command...
We came from here...

OMG Crissy that's a lot of miles, you must travel more than me, you get 'roadrunner' of the year award..
Best/Worse & What did I learn today..visit with friends!
Am I first??? Wowsers!!!LOL
Your quick this morning Stacey..lol..
Gillian posted on the previous thread not realizing we had already moved over...must have cross posted...
So here's her post...
I'm excited! Keith went out on the train yesterday and by now should have purchased us a minivan. We had called the dealer and arranged everything yesterday so all Keith had to do was go pick it up and pay for it. He'll just leave it at the train station when he comes back so it will be ready and waiting when we go out this summer. He's also picking up a cat carrier while he's out so we can take our cat on the train with us when we go. It's so nice to have things coming together.
The lilacs here have just started to bloom so it smells wonderful coming up our walk. I hope our peonies open before we head out. That's awful about your lillies, Betty. I'll have to check on mine.
Gillian, you are about a month behind me..my lilacs are finished blooming, no sign of my only peony blooming, it's only 2 years old and not doing the best...yep, check on those bugs before they ruin yours...
Congratulations on the van, from what you say you can leave vehicles at the train station for long lengths of time, do you have to pay for rental space or is it a way of accomodating you?
It took my oriental wedding peony (the only one I have) 3 yrs to bloom.....
Stacey, when I was on the farm I had loads of them from the elderly couple who gardened before me..I'd run them over with lawnmower etc. and they'd become healthier..perhaps that's what I have to do with the one I have...lol..
Geeesh, I don't want to be here, nope, don't, getting antsy to start my 11 days off...
Betty I am having the same problem, have things to work on but I just can't focus! My boss Jeff just brought his wife in to say hi, I've known her for awhile now and just love her, I told them all about what I'm going to get to do and Jeff was telling me about all of the trails and all at the falls. Now I'm even more excited!
truly is a view...
You have to talke Crissy by Bridal Veil falls...the smaller one, the view there is so beautiful....and my favorite. Just peaceful
Is it at the rainbow bridge cut off Debbie? I'm knowledgeable about the Canadian side of the falls but not the USA side...
If you are at the Rainbow Bridge area....follow the signs for Goat Island. There is parking down there, unfortunately it is $10....BUT it covers anywhere you park during the day at all the Falls sites. IF you go here...you will see all the Falls...American, Horseshoe and Bridal veil...all within walking distance.
This is my favorite area to go, as there are gardens, the black squirrels which I love.....and concession stands for cold water! IF you choose to go to the caves under the falls....that is also in those areas.

Thanks Debbie, am sure we'll hit them all..lol..we'll be sure to take photo's...
Barb, one of the cards arrived for Ann, she's coming over tonight for t.v. bingo so will give it to her...must tell you exactly what your kindness has meant to her...your card sits on the table, when she starts to feel down she reads it and your words give her comfort..she said that on the weekend her daughters were up, both picked it up and read it, she said from time to time they'd pick up up again and read...touched them as well..
The name though caught them by surprised, Ann/Mike had friends with same name..girls asked how come after so many years that Barb would send her a card and it be so touching???? Ann said no, this came from one of Betty's garden angels and that it meant the world to her....
Thank you Barb from me to you for the kindness you've shown my friend...
I am "pulling a Betty" LOL I have showered and my jammies on....and just might go to bed early! I am trying to find a book, read three of them in two weeks...ordered some more...which haven't shown yet. Now I am going crazy! LOL
Debbie wish we could meet up, I've loads of books I'm trying to get rid of...if I knew we'd be seeing each other at some point I'd put them in the car...
Betty....what day are you going to Niagara Falls?
I think the train station is used to people coming up for a few weeks so they're pretty easy-going when it comes to parking. If we were leaving it there for more than a month we'd arrange to store it at one of the vehicle storage places. Since we're going out in July there's no sense storing it.
Hearing all your plans is getting me excited and I'm not even going. You'll have so much fun!
Popping in to say Hello !
Debbie - what kinds of books do you like? I wonder.... I bet there MUST be a website that is like pandora but for BOOKS.... if not...let's invent it... I mean.. you plug in the books you like...and it recommends new books for you !
Stacey a new car ! Congrats! I'm trying to remember ....why you would leave it at the train station... a vacation? I just can't remember...
Hugs Barb! Love the pretty daylilies! I need one more daylilly... mine aren't looking too good... I'm so sad for you guys who are flooding...but I sure wish we could get a decent rainshower.
Can't wait to see Crissy's pics from the trip... Niagara Falls sounds gorgeous ! Is there a list of "Wonders of America?" Would love to plan to rent an RV with DH and see Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, etc. whatever else might be ...maybe the Top 5 things to see... THAT's a trip he would agree to. (Not Disney)
Hugs,
Mary
Mary, I like books that take me away from reality. Not into Sci-Fi or murder type. I could start plotting something! LOL I like romance novels, your going to laugh...the girls call it my cowboy romance LOL Shannon brought down a new Nicholas Sparks I haven't read....and a Nora Roberts she was hoarding. My sister in law is bringing me "Firefly" and "Coming Home" this weekend.
Well, I have my GrandDog here for the week....so going to take her for a late night walk in my Eeyore Pjs...good thing it is dark out. (only back yard) but I could still scare a skunk!
I've read a few Nicholas Sparks and Nora Roberts ! It has been a while.
I LOVE that you have Eeyore PJ's!
I think it was Nicholas Evans that I preferred... may have to check on that...
I REALLY need to find a book myself.... I think it would help me relax.
I'll check back.
Hugs,
Mary
Mary, he is wonderful! Wrote the Horse Whisperer!
Those are all types I like to read. Right now I am reading older books by Linda Lael Miller, its family history type books, that follows families through several generations and how they survive....families move and marry. Yes, the romance stuff...but also some good drama in there. The next "addition" comes out first of July....so I will have the 3 newest finished.
Yes, I have Eeyore Pjs....and I also have Snuffalufagus night shirt my DD gave me for Mothers day...I am stylin! LOL
Hello Debbie !
YES! THAT's IT ! Horse Whisperer! I fell in love with the movie...then I found the book and fell in love with it..... the book was VERY different than the movie... And there was another book he wrote that I loved... I'll have to look it up....
Love the Stylin'! I have Tweety Bird pajamas....
I am listening to DH and DSD's arguing.... DSD's are a HANDFUL... I worry about Dh's blood pressure....BUT I am not going to step in and 'fix' things because that is how I ended up so miserable.... Always doing everything for everyone and receiving no respect or appreciation...
I must stay distant. It's hard. I know Dh has his hands full.
I'm headed to Amazon to look up Nicholas Evans Books.... Back in a bit....
Hugs,
Mary
Been moving around here getting everything organized, will be leaving shortly for Barrie, bank opens early and I need to get some of those USA dollars...
Debbie I pick Crissy up at Buffalo Airport at 1:00pm tomorrow, we'll be back up in Lewiston late Sunday afternoon I would imagine...
Maybe I'll get a few books together, Nora Roberts etc. and if we do meet up I can give them to you..
Better go rush and do that...
Gab with you all when I get to work
Betty, you have a safe trip, and don't give the guys at the border too much trouble! LOL!
Give all the girls a hug from me too please?
I will Linda Kay, very disappointed that Marion and her daughter will not be able to make it...boo hoo...hey, I won't give them trouble if they don't give me trouble..car is packed to the hilt...
Did my banking, went to Canadian Tire..needed a birthday gift and a Father's Day gift for Jim my step father..goodness got the deal of the century..they had a case full of metric tools, reg. $189.99 on for $39.99 so with taxes cost me $45.00..he loves tools so he'll be more than pleased..probably duplicates but I just never know what to get him..with having a house/cottage and place in Florida I'm sure he can leave them somewhere...lol...
Calling for a major storm to roll in this afternoon, torrential rains, high winds/hail and even chance of tornado..saw on my screen the warning bleeping through, wouldn't you know I'm heading right into it after work..yikes...
Please be careful with those storms Betty. Be prepared to pull off the road if you need to!
Nice deal on the tools!
Betty-please be careful and if you need to, wait the storm out B4 you travel. On the news here there was a mom and 2 kids traveling during the last storm and a tree was struck by lightning and fell on their mini van, crushing it. They were all OK with minor scrapes, but it kind of sends the message home that driving in BAD weather is DANGEROUS!!!
Mary-Gillian is the one with the new car silly, not me;) (I wish it was me though-LOL)
I tried reading a book by Nicholas Evans once-forget the name, but not the Horse Whisperer-I couldn't get through it-it was too slow moving....Love Nicholas Sparks though. My fave is The Nights of Rodanthe which I read several years ago-still haven't seen the movie...
OHH Nights of Rodanthe...loved the book....but had forgotten most of it til I watched the movie, then cried like crazy!
Debbie, I filled a bag with books, many Nora Roberts and others much the same in hopes of seeing you and giving them to you..
Too funny, Wayne who does assessments in Toronto but is here today asked what I was doing with my holiday, told him, he couldn't believe that travelling to Cookies I'd take Pittsburg way..hey, less than 2 hrs. difference and besides want to see different country side, been awhile since I was in Pittsburg...he just shook his head and said, 'guess when you are on holidays you can do what you want right?' yes, I can!!!!
ok, the said we were in for a bad storm this afternoon/early evening, torrential rain, high winds and possibly tornado but a 5.5 earthquake less than 1 hr. ago...yikes...time to get out of town isn't it???
Counting the hours, hope I get to the city before the storm starts...
Hope all are enjoying their day..waving big time!
Gee Betty....felt it all the way over here! They say all the way to Mass. felt it. My front hall light was swaying big time.
Odd feeling isn't it, not something we are used to..
Very odd....I didn't like the sounds the house made with the creaking and cracking.
they did evacuate buildings in Toronto so they could make sure no structural damage..
Betty it looks like it's moving pretty fast, hopefully it will be past you when you get down there, then you don't have to worry about it at all.
OH YUK! I just rode the elevator up from the Lobby up to my office on the 7th floor and had to stop and pick someone up or drop someone off at every floor on the way, now I'm all motion sick.
I'm sure glad I wasn't up in that CN Tower when the earthquake hit, I would not only been puking but freaking out at the same time.
I have been in many many earthquakes and I know they freak me out first, then make me sicker than a dog.
Hiya peeps - missed you for a couple of days, and now I'm having a tough time catching up!
Have a good, safe trip, Betty!
Thought you might be off sick??? Any news on the sale your place?
Wow Betty, an earhtquake up your way is really rare! Hope no one got hurt, and not too much damage to the building?
Hey Susan, how you doing? Feeling better I hope?
More the fact that is unusual than the 'damage' ..well 15 minutes to go, countdown....Stacey is bringing her laptop so am sure we'll get to post a 'hi' to let you all know we're having fun..LindaKay will certainly give everyone a hug for you!!!
A 5.5 more than likely won't do any damage to a building, but it will knock things off of shelves, even though it was very shallow.
