Money Matters - Part 3
Any lawyers out there???? I have a question.
it will cost you!!
Yeah, that's why I don't want to call mine...LOL
I dated a lawyer once.
We have a customer going thru bankruptcy proceedings and when monies are released we will see 1.5%-3% of what they owe us. We are given the option on voting if they should accept this plan. Should we vote no or yes?
I vote you go and remove whatever you did!
That what I said!!!!
Vote yes!
( I always vote yes for things, unless it's something I don't like in which case I vote no.)
Thanks for your help(insert sarcasm font here)
lol!!
1 to 3% seems very low. they must have been in really bad shape when you did the work. did you do a credit check at the time?

They were a contract customer with no prior problems, but never did a credit check. I thought the % was kinda low too. They do have 2 other classes that they are paying out at 100%.
It's an ad for an optometrist, Sherrie.
Yes, I thought 10% was closer to normal.
Ok so a "no" vote then???
Only in DC and on Wall St can a loss of 54,000 jobs and an increase in the unemployment rate to 9.6% be considered good news. Ugh.
Importance of education - more than ever!
Current official unemployment rate is 9.6%. Breakdown vs education:
AND EDUCATION LEVEL
14 percent: Adults with no diploma
10.3 percent: Adults with a diploma
8.3 percent: Adults with some college education
4.5 percent: Adults with college degree
___
- Yes it is important. - But you can't always take it to the bank, they don't want to pay top dollar for any worker nowadays, reduced benefits and shorter work weeks. To add salt to the wound, if they do hire, the employee will be doing the work of 3 people w/o overtime... (that's the scenario I'm getting from some of my well educated friends who have been laid off.)
- Plumbers and Car Mechanics - they always have extra large shrimp on the barbecue. (lol!)
True, unless you're lucky enough to be a public employee, in which case you do the work of 1/10 of a person!
Yes, I've noticed that too, (that's if they show up for work at all), outrageous what they get away with! - And they get good pensions too with full benefits! Ugh...!
Did you see that small city in CA where all the bureaucrats were making six figures?!! The city manager was making over $800K!!! Nice work if you can get it.
Yeah, that's big time corruption, they 'own' that town.
Oh ya saw that. There is an open air mall about 3 mins from me and lots of the stores have help wanted signs in the windows.
That's a good sign.
The 'good news' on the financial news this AM was that the number of first-time claims for unemployment was much lower than expected. The market has jumped on the news. What they did not report was that data from nine states, including CA, was not included!
A convenient omission.
Instead, they 'estimated.'
Sorta like 'mind over matter', (lol).
All the college kids went back to school that's why it was lower
Guess we'll be working till we're dead
guess we will.
for those of you who visit cubits - there is an excellect article on the front page on what the new tax laws and healthcare is going to cost us - OUCH!!!
No need for me to read that. Already knew it. The $600 1099 thing is beyond outrageous.
i just hope they can be reversed as quickly as they have been enacted!
