What's for dinner? #7 BBQ Season

Sounds Asian

Thomaston, CT

It's my own recipe, Sherrie. Tonight, BBQ steak, salad, potatoes layered with onions, parm cheese, a lttle evoo, & baked.

Robin, have you ever used the sushi ginger? The only reason I eat sushi is for the ginger!

Thomaston, CT

No, Deb....I don't eat fish....only tuna in a can...& I kill it with mayo...but I love ginger...I always keep it in the freezer...if I get sick, I hack off a piece, pour boiling water over it in a mug, add a tsp of honey, & sip it by the spoonful...it really helps.

I am having chocolate covered brussel sprouts.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Really Sherry?

I bought the ginger in a jar, it's sliced really thin, and I've used it in a carrot and beet salad.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

We like ginger preserves with carrots.

Thomaston, CT

That I've never tried, but sounds yummy! Leftover steak salad with orzo & feta for tonight.

Went to a Mexican restaurant

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Our favorite local Mexican place closed up, haven't had any for a long time.

Thomaston, CT

Have not been to a Mexican restaurant in 20 years...it may be time!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Wow that's a long time.

Thomaston, CT

Yes...my DH didn't like Mexican food....guess now I'll go with the girls.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Mmm, salty margaritas, hot salty tortilla chips, hot salsa, then of course dinner.
I told DH I want to go to Mexican tonight.

Last 3 time I have got sick eating a burger. Home cooked burger. Said it 2 times ago I will never eat a burger again. And now I will never eat a buger again.

I got a burger mentalie.

Thomaston, CT

Maybe it's not the burger, but what you are eating with it.....

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Didn't make it for Mexican last night, tried to, too long a wait so we went next door. Still craving it.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Next door? Guatamala? Hee hee. I love Mexican and we have a great one here. Lots of great food in Astoria these days, Deb. Not much when I was there.

We're having ravioli.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

On the way home last night noticed a Greek restaurant here called Astoria. Will have to try it.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That's funny.

Yesterday, on his way down from Merrymeeting Bay, Garret stopped to see his brother Mike, who gave him a mess of clams he had dug, Garret made chowder, & I ate it!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I second that YUM

Took hubby and fil to German restaurant

Thomaston, CT

Oh, love German food! The chowder was good...told my son I was proud of him! Going to pot luck at church tonight....have NO idea what I'm bringing.....

Sitting here eating French Fries dipping them in catsup and vinegar

Thomaston, CT

The vinegar part is OK...don't like ketchup on my fries.

Thomaston, CT

Brought Italian pasta salad to church & the leftovers will be my dinner tonight.

Brian had his tooth pulled yesterday......liquid diet going on in this house. LOL

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ouch! Hope he feels better.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thanks, better today...he's as hungry as a bear but has to have soft foods today. Mashed potatoes , is what he wants now!

Thomaston, CT

Better than yogurt!

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

steak on the grill. Too hot to cook in the house.

Thomaston, CT

Hamburgers, green bean salad, fresh strawberries for dessert.

Chicken foil packets - on the grill.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Pizza tonight
Last night I made pasta aglio olio with chicken, broccoli and red peppers.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That sounds good, Deb.

Pasta with chicken, peas and Dijon mustard. Yum.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Something else besides mustard? I make a pasta and chicken dish in a white sauce that has the mustard and thyme in it.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Steamed green beans, cheesey mashed potatoes and grilled sword fish by request of one-missing-tooth. ^_^
