Went to last night cookout at VBS, probably had one of the best baked beans I've ever had
What's for dinner? #7 BBQ Season
Get the recipe, Jen!
I'll have to find out who made it
Thanks.
leftovers, too hot to cook.
I made a blueberry cobbler on the grill tonight - worked out well, and the house stayed cool.
Oh neat....recipe please?
nice!!!
Blueberry cobbler
1/2 cup sugar
1 TBSP cornstarch
1 tsp lemon juice
4 cups blueberries
mix sugar and cornstarch in a medium pan, then add lemon juice and blueberries, stir. Heat over medium until boiling, stir constantly, boil for 1 minute, Pour into 2 qrt casserole (I used one I could put on the grill)
1 cup flour
1 TBSP sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
mix together and cut in 3 TBSP shortening until crumbly
add 1/2 cup milk and stir
drop 6 spoonfuls over hot blueberries
bake at 400 for 25-30 minutes
I don't have a thermometer on my grill, just turned it to low, put this on the top shelf, and kept checking it, but it did fine.
Good morning Debilu
hey JoAnne
When do you take off for the coast?
The cobbler sounds great....I make a blueberry pudding cake that's easy, but have never done it on the grill!
I've tried quite a bit on the grill, just need to keep some stuff up away from the heat, I also made stuffed peppers last night and did those on the grill.
Thanks for reminding me about stuffed peppers....have to make some now that peppers actually grew for me this summer.
I need to start trying more non traditional bbq stuff on the grill
I can't believe I stumbled on this thread.. Just finished a 30 inch FRESH striped bass cooked whole on the charcoal grill. Good olive oil, basil, pepper, salt and lots of thin fresh green onions and a touch of oregano.
The fish wasn't out of the water for much more than an hour before he was resting next to a nice mix of tomatoes with some feta and some pilaf to round it off...
PLUS!! The bugs let us eat on the deck on a particularly nice night.
Now thats fresh fish!! 30" is a nice haul too RR!!!!!!
Sounds good!!!
Wow - that's a big fish.
Sounds good RR! (bet it tasted better! lol!)
(- That's normal size for a Striper, 28" min length here in NY)
I went for fish today too, 24" fluke I caught sunday, left on the bone on ice for easy filleting today. Got 4 nice fillets from it, added french fries and
... a double layer chocolate mousse cake from NY's financial district bought today for dessert. ☺
I've been pretty much eating cottage cheese on these hot nights, but getting sick of it.....BBQ chicken & corn for tonight.
Sherrie, placed in a pan before being put on the grill!!!
Oh, that looks great, WC! Love mousse.
It does look good, and before I enlarged it, I thought you arranged coins on a table!
hee hee! 10" cake, still have left for a few more days, even the label is edible, (I wonder how they do that lol).
- very light, doesn't fill you up...
looks good Sherrie
mmmmmm chocolate
Hubby loves the extra sauce.
Made a recipe from gardadore on the MidAtlantic forum had it at the MA swap, had to make it. Yummy! great summer dish.
