Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

We just got a severe t-storm warning.

Thomaston, CT

Some dark clouds here, but I just listened to forecast, & only Fairfield Co has a chance of storms....we'll see! It was a perfect day to be at the nursery, & I bought a yellow rose.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Raining now.

Thomaston, CT

Hope the Mets won't be called!

South Hamilton, MA

Rain not predicted, had it last night, although not with high winds which seem to do a log of damage west of boston. I want it to stay dry for a couple days, so can get back to making crosses. We head out to Madison to the iris convention on tues. How nice that we can goggle for next week's weather predictions there.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Does it cover all species of iris, Lucy?

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

it's not me!

South Hamilton, MA

Many of them. It depends on which plants were sent as 'guests'. All the different 'sections' which cover the different iris types have meetings on Wed. business with programs, sort of like an annual meeting. Next 3 days are garden tours to see the guest plants. Home on Sun. Convention takes place in different area each year.

No, I'm sure Bill is innocent....this time. LOL By the way, Bill, on the 10:00 news and weather last night, I heard them mention Pepperell as being among the towns under a tornado watch and getting really severe storms. Did you have any problems? I think they came up our way about an hour later. Hope all is well at your house!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

we had big t-storms - no real wind - our tv bleeped off for a second just before they annouced the winner on AI - got it back on in time - wife let out of few 4 letter words:)

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

We had a good day here. No rain, cool, but sun was out for most of the day. Where did LindaTX8 pop up from? Strange day here on Dave's. Patti

South Hamilton, MA

wife or you?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Oh, My! That's around the time I heard your town mentioned. I saw the end of Idol, but didn't like the finale show much. I also wasn't crazy about the finale of 24. Glad to hear things are ok with you and Cindy, Bill.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Have you ever been a show judge, Lucy?
Yes, it was very strange for her to show up like that, Patti. Bizarre goings-on lately.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Only got 0.03 inches, but it did cool it off. Down to 63 now.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

We're @ 62°, no rain yet.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

it was my angelic wife lucy:)

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I couldn't finish watching AI after the first couple shows it was soooo boring this year
Tstorms just finished rolling thru here.

South Hamilton, MA

OK Bill, I believe you.

Both DH & I are still judges, although we prefer garden judging to show. It's getting difficult to travel very far, however.

NIce today - what a treat!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

ooohh last night... well they cleared the stadium for Bon Jovi right when the opening bands were on because of lightning ... but it stopped raining after the opener & before Bon Jovi went on... was able to wipe off the seat and we were dry the rest of the night!!!... was not impressed with the new stadium.... everything was gray... the seats... walls... kind of depressing looking... AND if any females go there.. don't drink too much we waiting on this long line to get in the bathroom to find there were only 8 stalls... and you could barely wash your hands with the low water pressure... but my friend and I had a great time

55 now going to 72.. might get some more rain today

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

59 with 86% humidity. Overcast.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - I went on the 'other' site and was shocked to see people celebrating the chaos and acrimony going here. Seems people have really lost it and have let their worst come out. Seems like people have taken on the suicide bomber mentality. And it's really weird and creepy that there is a recurring theme of religion in the rage threads. I was considering posting my disgust on the 'reasonable' thread, but it's not worth it.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Allison, glad you didn't get rained on(too much) There had to be bigger bathroom somewhere, no????

I really don't understand people.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

I think you would heve been ignored anyway, Victor. It seems some people love drama and choas. No thanks for me. The edit seems to be back for now.

70 and sunny. The neighbor is now mowing his yard, DH is sleeping(works midnight -8:30 am)

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

I read some of the "reasonable" thread, just to try to understand what is happening. It strikes me that the most vocal people are the least informed and the least knowledgeable about contracts and non-compete clause succession. I felt like you, Victor....I could have contributed some understanding of the legal aspects, I think, but I just didn't want to get into the mix. People are pleading with the new owners to give their "side" of things, but no lawyer in his/her right mind would allow a client to do that, anymore than the doofus's on Good Morning America should be blabbering on and on when they are involved in a law suit or have allegedly committed a crime. Stupid move that always comes back to haunt.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Good point, Louise. It's the sheer venom that's most disturbing.

70 with the sun breaking out. Still humid.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

That's for sure, Victor! Doesn't it seem that people are awfully quick to slip into rage these days? And I agree that it is uncomfortable how often it is linked to religion.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Self righteousness, a characteristic which I've noticed in my travels, most prevalent near or in the 'Bible Belt'. - not a pretty sight...

66°, wind SSW 5.8mph, Rh 32%, cloudy

Was near the S Shore this am, cooler there with a stiffer wind, not a beach day today though, Sunday looks better.

Thomaston, CT

Made it to 75 today...took the dale for his haircut, spent a few hours with the granddaughters, day flew by.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Turned out nice. 73 and mostly sunny now.

Yes, I was wondering how these people dealt with family or work problems. Do they fly off the handle like this? Would they be cutting me off on the highway? Would they block the aisle in the supermarket, Bill?? ^_^

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

:) i would run them over!!
i read some on the other thread too and did not comment as well - they simply do not unerstand legalese - dave tried to jump the gun and got caught - one year and all is fair - way to much emotion - wonder what those complaining would be doing if they bought dave's garden and the person who started it tried to take customers and they where protected by contracts?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

That pretty much sums it up, Bill. Many people have a hard time stepping into the shoes of those on the other side of an issue.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

one year isn't that long to wait.

Calling for a great weekend until Mon afternoon, then scattered t-showers.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Jen each section had a set of restrooms... but still ONLY 8 stalls in each ... a man must have designed that... LOL.. no offense guys... but some just don't get it... we walked into the room and looked around the corner by the sinks to see if there were more stalls... and it only lead to an exit... I was shocked... the old one had 20 or more in each one... and not sure if it was the setup of the concert... but I swear this one looked smaller than the old one.. I kept trying to imagine what the field looked like for a game.... not much room on the sidelines or end zones... or at least my perception of it

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

I got caught up reading more of the posts about the evil IB and the saintly Dave, and found it sad that people are cutting off their ties to DG, as a sign of support for DW and Trish in a almost cult like reverence without really knowing anything. All based on rumors from both sides. Nothing will be known until they battle it out in the courts. Then we will know who did what and when? These things often get worked out before the case even goes to court, which I hope is the case. I feel sorry for anyone so caught up and angry about this legal mess that they have become venomous and pugnacious. It has become a holy war for many. I will await the facts while weeding away on the sidelines. But I do so enjoy some of the people who are now beyond mad, so to those, please don't hate me for being neutral now.

I looked into starting a cubit, but from what I read and thought I understood, but I am not a lawyer, that even though the cubit would be mine in name to run, the Cubits.Org belonged to Dave. He could do with it as he wished, like sell it in the future for more millions He is a very talented man. I see people wanting to raise money for Dave for his defense fund. Another strange notion when he is hardly needy.

I loved cubits, some of it was way better than DG, but I won't leave DG, yet. It is a garden site with some wonderful gardening people that I have come to totally depend on every day for way more than weeds and weather. Last year was a medically tough one for me, and I must say having DG was an indispensable routine for me that helped keep me in a positive space without ever talking about my issues. Plus how would I know what weather I am about to get is unless I had this thread?

54 now and clear. Sunny and in the 60's tomorrow. Thanks Victor for doing this thread and thanks to all who post. I will truly miss some who have chosen to leave. Patti

South Hamilton, MA

I feel sorry for those who 'owned' cubits. Never quite understood that concept. But I have enjoyed both sites & one reason for switching over was the fear of losing people here. If someone asks a question or makes a good post do we ignore them because we're angry? Sounds rude to me.

anyone have any ideas about keeping the rain away from WI next week. I would like to enjoy the 3 days of iris garden tours.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

irisMa. I'll do a NO Rain dance for you, but WI is a long way for my transmitter, so no guarantees. Also I am so weary tired from moving all the plants out of our GH that my dance will be rather stiff and without much energy. But it is done! Have a good time, rain drops make for stunning pictures. We will expect lots of photos, rain or shine. Patti
