Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

No rain or no bears here. Sad about the former, but not the latter. Scary guy/gal to have in your cuppatea house. patti

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

No rain here today.
I'd be a little nervous with a bear hanging around.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

If he brings rain, I'm okay with him.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

No rain here either. AACCKKK!!! About 91 and humid

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Farmer's almanac was right again.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Wo no bear here thank goodness, but looks like we got a little rain last night. Missed the the big storms that were in the area, only distant thunder and lightening. One normal t-storm was a bit closer in the evening that must have brought the rain but no big wind vaboom type things. Fog and overcast again this am. Temp 62 and light wind. Radar shows a few lingering showers headed this way if they don't fizzle. Sun should return after they go by.

Remember what was going on last year at this time?

SLUGS
APHIDS
MUSHROOMS
and the stinking old - BLIGHT

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Rained all day yesterday, lost internet around noon time. Spent the entire day and most of the evening off line. Lost Dishnet work too for several hours, stayed in the 50's all day.
Now it is 55 and should climb almost to 80 today.

Louise stay safe, I know you'd rather him not break anything, but better the shed than the house!!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Sometimes I think of how it would be like to live out in the woods,
... then I think about bears and I say, 'forget about it'!!

- no rain here either.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Ugh.

I was just outside digging up some stuff for the RU tomorrow and planting out some caladiums. The sweat was just dripping, no breeze at all and I was in the shade!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Was just thinking the other day that I could not believe we are into June already, but the weather tells me otherwise.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Got a small spot of PI in a weird spot - right under my wedding ring! I knew that thing was bad luck. ^_^

I'll start a new thread.

LOL, WaterCan!!! Yes, we are pretty remote here and we have about a thousand acres of forest to our east and west, so lots of wildlife come through. We do like that, as we love being part of a large wildlife corridor, but you sure do have to use your head - especially with small puppies under foot!

Patti - yes, the girls reacted to the scent of the bear before Hank saw it. They were livid when they were in the bedroom - trying to look out of every window. I've never seen Carli shake over anything - not out of fright, but just wanting so much to get out there! I was trying to hold her and she wanted none of that! Bailey too. Last night when Hank took them out (on leashes), he took the sleigh bells off our front door and carried them with him, since that is a hiking trick in the wild to let bears know to get out of the way. The girls weren't thrilled with the bells ringing while they were "using the ladies' room". :)

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

DonnieBrook, I assumed they went bonkers just from smelling the bear. We always took a classic bicycle air horn on canoe trips to ward off the bears and moose on portages. I was always more weary of the moose. Good idea about the sleigh bells. Good luck with those WC visits, I would let Hank do those trips.

Pretty day outside. Truck load of timbers was just delivered for our new walls. Hate them, but we have to use them. No stones available. Patti

Thomaston, CT

Yikes, Louise....glad the girls were on leashes....I never saw our bear, just the damage.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Whoa, it is super humid here today! The thermometer only says 70, but I'm not buying it! We had a rain storm around 7ish this morning.....sunny now, but muggy, muggy!

Patti & Marilyn.....we always take the girls out on leashes in the early morning hours and from dusk on, just because you can see lots of critters around then. The 10:00 a.m. coyotes threw me though.

Super humid here, as well. Earlier this morning there was a nice breeze. No rain here, yet.

Be careful what you wish for, my friend!!!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Our rain didn't last long. Helped some, but we need a night of soaking rain. Patti

Light rain with thunder in the distance....had to run out and get a shot of the heirloom peony that has moved in Hank's family for almost a century. It has only one bloom this year that opened this morning. I was afraid the rain would beat it down if I didn't get the shot now. Once the bloom is gone, we'll dig it up and replant it, as I think it is planted too deep to bloom much. I love the color!
