87 here, showers tomorrow
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 70
84° Still feels hot but not stiffling.
t-storms and lighting right now - coming down to beat the band! needed it bad.
All we have heard are distant rumbles at 11:20.
wow really???.... 76 now going to 82... possible storms
Tstorms overnight. At least one good downpour, the garden needed that here too. Overcast this am but should turn to mostly sunny later. Cooler temps should prevail also, yeah! Temp now is 55 degrees and calm wind.
AC is off - nuff said
69 with 80% humidity. Rain likely today. Then, nicer.
67°, wind NE 6.5mph, Rh 53%, cloudy
55 now, heading to 75 today...perfect!
Last night Maine dropped 35 degree's in 4 hours.....weatherman was even astonished.
Wow - that's fast.
Yes, and a bit of a shocker to the skin...we were at 85, then BAM! 55
Better that than the other way!
Rain overnight. Garden could use it. In the 70s today & I hope that it stays that way.
Yesterday, Hartford at 99 was the hottest temp in the country! Nasty storm last night, hail for a min., trees bending over....winds were supposed to be around 70 mph & it looked it. But now it's 65 & refreshing....heading to Hollandia nursery with cousins & brother.
Sun is winning over the low overcast clouds and poking through here and there. Temp now 63 degrees and should top out in he mid 70s. Light NW wind.
Clouds are rolling and in wind is picking up
It's 78 with 77% humidity
Coolish here with some sun/clouds. Great day to move the GH and avoid the blah, blah, blah over in the rant and rage forum. Patti
Waiting for some rain here. 73, overcast and very humid. I hope to plant the veggies and annuals. I agree, Patti. It's basically a repeat of the rant/rage threads that followed the announcement of the sale. A few comments on this.
As much as I like and respect Dave, his decision to sell DG set all this in motion, period. The decision to try to close down cubits is incredibly stupid, though we have only heard one side of the story. But the situation has 'evolved', from Dave stating he had no intention to compete with DG after the sale to IB, to now where the argument is a legal one as to whether he 'can' compete, irrespective of whether cubits is actually competing or not. You do have to admit that as time went on, cubits started resembling DG more and more. Format, features, photo databases, articles, contests, etc. As I saw this, I had a strong feeling that it would result in what we are now seeing.
Some of the posts there are ridiculous. They're complaining about policies that Dave put in place! I understand people's frustration - especially those who have invested so much time/effort into building their cubits, but how does threatening, name-calling and wishing harm help the situation??
Yeah and people are like "oh poor Dave" If you own anything you know what your contract states and doesn't state. People are saying "oh he didn't know that was in his contract", well that just makes him look really stupid and I don't think he is. He went into business it may have started as a hobby but grew and then when something grows that big you change your contract to reflect the changes.
Dave sold DG, that's it, ...end of story. The fist time I visited cubits I wondered why it had not been shut down before I got there. This is a matter if internet law, we are in a 'domain' that has a price tag. Seems that people sometimes forget that fact & let their emotions get the best of them. - A small testament of how powerful the internet has become, - a 'virtual world' which can be bought and sold... - and unplugged.
80 and less humid today.
Dave seemed to not feel the contract had moved to IB went DG was sold again.
Where did the Edit function go? I need it for spelling errors.
Dave's Garden will go on without us. I know that. IB will sell it to another company and that company will sell it to another. But for IB to go after Dave's new site to destroy competition? Ludicrous! I left another site and subscribed to DG because things went downhill at the other. I followed Dave to his other site, using both sites for the time being. I can move on again, no problem. There are other sites out there.
I see my edit is back.
Let this be a lesson to read everything you sign. I'm glad there is no ranting here.
Linda, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall you posting on this thread before. May I ask how you knew about this conversation in the middle of a weather thread?? Thanks.
Yeah, where did the edit button go?
You know the blah-blah-blah thread...I believe the edit buttom has to do with that. People are deleting there post through out the forums. Your freedom to delete your words have just been taken away.
Then they give it back, and then they take it away. It's been happening all day. many funky things have been happening since that thread......
i agree with wc - looked like direct competition to me and i can not believe dave did not have a non-compete clause in his contract.
I don't blame admin for taking away the edit. It's being abused. The people on the torches and pitchforks thread are doing exactly what they are accusing IB of doing. They complain that people cannot be directed to that thread. Then they delete their posts. They say they are being treated as children, then act like children. Let's tell the advertisers. No, le's get rid of all our posts. No, let;s not post at all. Embarrassing.
Has anyone complained about the edit function disappearing to the admin. people? I don't want to be a broken record, if so. I hope that is an inadvertent problem and not a policy decision.
I think it may be temporary, until things cool down. Soon I hope.
Yes administrators but how about our typos??
Guess we'll have to live with mistakes until people begin behaving rationally.
Back to weather! 73 and humid. Just finished the veggies with the kids. My little guy asked if it's okay to give them juice!
Solar weather - got a notification of a coronal mass ejection heading our way tomorrow. Those in higher latitudes might see some auroras. Cool!
I see the 'edit' again.
I don't have edit. Is it by individual, do you think?
That's weird.
