Betty, it is only $30 additional for the enhanced.....but it is $100 for the passport and I have to go get most of the same things and takes twice as long.
Best/Worse and what did I learn today?visit with friends...
Hmmm didn't realize that Debbie, I have the new Ontario drivers permit and thought it was the enhanced but when I had the wrong passport going over I showed it to him and he said nope, wasn't it..
Bev, what a beautiful sunset..do you know our town is known for it's sunset, have to take photo of the sign at entrance that has it posted...
near the tree in the middle it looks like water, I don't remember any body of water near your yard?
I'm sure if you check the web you'll find a replacement for your lost iris..
Morning everyone! Betty you up early! Beautiful flowers your all posting.
Betty-It looks like I will drive down with Mom and we will be staying in a hotel for the weekend.
We are having a sub division wide garage sale this weekend and I noted on the way home that one of the neighbors had several tables in the garage with clothes on them and a glider...hmmm-sure hope it isn't broken and a good price. I want one for the nursery, but those darned things are like $300 each!! I would love to get one for like $50... The sale either begins today or tomorrow. Will be keeping my eyes open to be sure!! If it starts tomorrow may have to take a walk around and hope the rain holds off.
I think I finally talked DH into removing the swingset from the backyard:) It was there when we moved in, is rusty, has cracks in the sled and by the time this kid gets to use it, I just don't see it being very safe. So I told DH I wanted it taken out this summer. He was reluctant at first and tried to come up with all kinds of excuses, but in the end I WILL get my way-LOL.
Morning Tink! Glad your getting the swingset removed. It will be a few years, before your baby will use it.
Sure hope you get the glider your watching?
Stacey, glad you'll have someone to travel with..Crissy confirmed her flight plans..yippee..she'll be arriving June 24th at 1:00pm-Buffalo Airport...we'll play it by ear as to what will happen that day but keeping in mind we're heading to the gathering...We'll leave around noon on Sunday and head back my way...hoping that Debbie will have her bags packed to spend a couple of days with Crissy and I on the Canadian side, I'd drive her back on the 30th to catch her flight home...I'm excited as can be...of course, I had to change my week in July .. Paul was in this morning, know he likes everyone to take full weeks, well it is full week just not starting on a Monday but starting on a Thursday...I'd be back for the 31st. then off for our July 1st long weekend...nice breaking up the weeks, makes it seem like I have more time off...you sure wouldn't want a swing set no in A+ condition...
Ohhh you just can't miss out on the sale, be early, know people post times for openings but it seems no one ever listens and are there earlier than posted...hoping you get it for bargain price of ??? $40.00 how's that..
Linda Kay, what are you up to? bet you are finding the time long without 'dad'!
Betty, there's only 30 days in June. LOL I leave Wednesday the 30th, Thursday is July 1st. I really wanted to stay until Friday July 2nd but there's just no way with Roy flying in.
I'm so excited!! I can't believe I am able to do this, seems so surreal!
Hmmmm...then I guess I get the Friday off as my 7th day...didn't even check that out..lol...don't know why I kept thinking it would be a long weekend..forget that July 1st is the day you take regardless when it fall...sooo works out that I'll have 11 days off.. amazing what we can do when we get something in our minds Crissy...
Hey Betty. I am finding more time to clean house and vaccum like I should.
I came home with the crud, and have been sleeping alot. Just tired all the time. Lots of congestion in my chest, but it is getting better.
Tubby, so glad to see you posting. Sounds like your doing well.
Is your area having a 'flu epidemic' LindaKay? Seems as though it's going around here, not just the 24hr. flu but lasts for weeks..let's hope you get over it soon so you can start playing in your garden..
It's so nice outside, I decided not to go to pencil sketch class tonight, rather play in my garden and get everything ready for the weekend..was going to take Cathy over to Buffalo as a thank you for all the times she looks after my furries but it's her dad's birthday and she also has to work Saturday..
If we do indeed get rain on Saturday morning I just might take a run to Meaford..saw Meaford Factory Outlet sales paper, lots of goodies that I think might want to come home with me..lol
I was getting congested when I left Washington, so it is something I probably got there.
Let's hope your dad doesn't get it..hope you are resting..any meds for it?
I am taking mucinex D. That seems to be doing pretty good! I hope dad does not get it either. He has enough breathing problems.
When you're not used to the climate in the place you are visiting makes us vulnerable to bugs. When my mom moved from Modesto, CA to Oklahoma City she got all kinds of bugs, rashes, and you name it. She's gotten past all of that now but the first couple years were rough.
LOL Betty I do that all the time. Because of this job I'm getting better at remembering which months have 30 days and which months have 31 days. It's confusing!!
Well, I stopped at the garage sale with the rocker after my Drs. appt. and I got the glider for $45-I am happy with that. I sat in it and rocked-it was pretty comfy so I should be good for the rocking to sleep or feeding....She didn't really have anything else since her kids are a little older. She had toddler clothes and a few other things, but I just got the rocker. I didn't go to any of the others since I was hungry. Maybe tomorrow...
How wonderful Stacey...my grandmother in her going back through the years was telling me about a rocker she had, was regular rocker with a side craddle, there was a 3rd wrung which attached it to the rocker...grandma said she would sit and knit and rock all the while the baby in the craddle..always said I wanted to have one made by Bernie for my grandchildren but neither DIL's wanted it, too old fashion..
You busy today Crissy...there was a school poem regarding how many days in a month, still remember it...lol
LindaKay, I'll say like Crissy, sometimes when you are in different temps you catch what you shouldn't...
Suzanne and I had lunch then walked down to the Knitting & Quilting Gallery, needed a few more skeins of wool..sitting here sewing blocks together then I can do edging tomorrow and another senior lap afghan done...ahead of the game I am..
What a way to end a Thursday of the long weekend..Paul just e-mailed and told us to come in until 1:00 tomorrow only..to enjoy afternoon off...sure made me smile..
I'm busy doing a whole lota nuthin. Got one account figured out and should go onward but pptttttthhhhh. Dave found a birthday party to go to tonight, I told him we have to leave at 10, he wants me to call in sick but I don't do that, I have 90 hours and it can build up to 900, I want to save as much time as I possibly can.
Yay Betty, that's awesome! I don't remember the poem.
Thirty days hath September,
April, June and November;
February has twenty eight alone
All the rest have thirty-one
Except in Leap Year, that's the time
When February's Days are twenty-nine
LindaKay, hurrahhh...you come from the same schooling except I couldn't remember exactly what the February line said...remember the nuns drumming it into us..doubt they teach it to the young ones these days...doesn't may come into the 30th category though???
Just had to drop in for a sec.
Every Thursday night a young boy - maybe 10 or 11 delivers the paper and the sales flyer..I'm not always home but when I am I give him a toonie ($2.00)..this past winter he'd bring it right to the door, no throwing it in the drive or on the deck..I'm probably the only one that get door delivery..
I have several outfits I wear, large brilliant flowers on them, I see him coming, go get my toonie out and he says, "nice flowers", I look around to see where he's seeing flowers, he says 'your shirt' so I smile and say thank you, then he smiles and says, 'do you water them' and starts to laugh..little imp...so that was my best of the day..seeing a young lad work to make a few extra dollars and a young man not intimidated by an old lady and is willing to talk to her..lol
You just got to love kids!
Betty, there are 31 days in May.
Thank you LK for the poem... I learned it the wrong way...so now I know the correct one... (hoping I remember it) LOL!
Betty - THAT is a great young man! Should become a salesman when he grows up!
So Crissy is going to visit with BEtty! How SUPER! I am envious! Maybe one day... I've got to negotiate my time off since I'm down to 2 weeks a year (and now only 3 days left!) Betty - maybe I can use your method... We'll see as the year progresses...maybe I can find out some way to ask for a few extra days... :)
Stacey - So glad to see you post ! Now that my niece has a baby (as of last July) we've really been paying attention to garage sales...especially the "Curb" after them... I got a perfectly good High Chair that was slated for the garbage a few months ago for MIL...
Bev - Beautiful Irises! I'm about to have a Canna and agapanthus bloom.... the yard is looking MUCH better but still praying for our Queen Palms....
I am SO EXCITED to have nothing planned... for this weekend. Laundry. Nursery. Plant... Relax.
Hope to get into a nice schedule...
Betty - This pic was the "Tour around the World" at Epcot... It was a BLAST! You should all plan to go March-May one day for the "Flower and Garden Festival" there !
HUGS to all...
Mary
Morning everyone! Hope you all have a great Friday!
LindaKay, can't get better than this..was shopping early this morning, all my running around done, with living in cottage country and this being the long weekend want to avoid the crazy driving...finally found another 'hops' for the arbor, there were only 3 left, I really should have bought the other 2 as well...they also had 'green - recycled' 4 piece furniture cover..although my new set is under gazebo it still has to contend with the elements so thought I'd best cover it at night so I don't have to drag all the cushions in, was pleased with that purchase..saves me time..
Then I managed to get supplies for the t-shirt exhange that I needed to complete my projects this weekend so that was thrilling as well..because Cathy had already dropped in yesterday and did the grass, I did more weeding so with all the weeding that I got done all week there's little to do there soooo play weekend with high temps ahead of me..how could you not smile...
called to make an appt. for a perm, they are closed tomorrow for long weekend but said if I was there at 2:30 she'd do my hair, so that is another bonus..
Jeff just e-mailed to say he thinks he's coming up this weekend and will drop in Saturday...he'll be coming alone because Caleb/Braedon are at the cottage this weekend and I think Jeff want to do some Kayaking to prepare for his trip..even a few hours will be nice..he'll be more than pleased that I don't have a 'to do' list like Mothers' Day!
Mary, those riders must be new, I was at Disney & Epcot a few years ago and they didn't have them, surely they don't have enough to accommodate everyone do they? you sure do look as though you are enjoying each others company..know the sense of joy you have spending time with your son, feeling the same..you've been on a merry-go-round it seems for about a month or so, it will be nice for you to unwind and just relax in the garden..
as the Disney gardens, I've been several times at Christmas and omg can't believe the beauty..maybe we should all meet at the gates of Disney lol .. am sure Crissy would be up to that!
Judy, you busy sewing? Guess there is lots to keep you occupied getting back into the norm after your trip..hows Jacob? we'll be calling you the world traveller, Europe, cottage country, Ohio...who would have thunk it? lol
Liz, put down those crafts and come gab with us..miss you..
Waving to everyone else..sure hope it's a sunshine weekend for all of you..
LOL Now I just have to figure out which months weren't mentioned! That's difficult!
Man Dave went into Malvern to visit some friends yesterday and found out that a bar in Hot Springs was having a birthday party and they invited Dave, so after I got off work yesterday we went to Hot Springs and ate dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings, then went to this birthday party. I am ssoooooooo glad I said yes we could go! There's this gal named Jewels that I met 3 days after moving here to AR, I haven't seen her in about 1 1/2 years, she was there, her sister Billie was there, Billie's husband is lead guitar in the local band (and they just picked up a gig on Beale Street in Memphis,) my friend Alicia was there with her friends, there was probably 40 people there and we knew almost everyone. Had the best time, and I was back home in bed by 10:30pm, which is my normal bedtime. Apparently the cigarette smoke really got to me this time, all morning my sinuses were running so bad I felt like I was drowning, and around 10:30am this stopped and it switched to a massive sinus headache. I took a couple Ibuprofen's but they're not doing a whole lot, so I'm going to take another one here in a bit.
Crissy get so me mucinex D. It helps a lot. That is what I am taking.
Glad to hear you had a great time.
I've heard it's great stuff but I can't seem to find a smaller pill, or better yet a liquid version.
Hello All;
Crissy - That sounds like a GREAT TIME! I need some nights like that with DH....
DH has agreed that WE... (just me & him ...NO KIDS) can take Memorial Day weekend off to go anywhere ....it will be our first vaca together with NO KIDS..... I am looking at Beach accomodations now..... SO EXCITED !
Betty - I thought you would like that! Those are called "Segways"... they move around like water ski's however you lean forward..... The Tour is about $55 pp...and you have an hour of 'training' before you head out to the park. When you head out... it is still SO early... that we were the only group in Epcot's Future World...so it was SO MUCH FUN! The wind in your hair (or bicycle helmet)LOL....the flowers the plants...the segways were FUN....it was a Blast!
DH and I went out to buy plants this afternoon... a miniature gardenia, purple fountain grass, a "colocasia" elephant ear thing I couldn't resist, hydrangea, and more...can't wait to have 'nothing' to do tomorrow but plant, laundry, etc.
Hugs,
Mary
Mary, next time I'm vacationing in that area it will be a first one my list...they had same in Washington D.C. - the grandsons were eyeing them up, with so much on our plate we didn't pursue the idea of renting them...great way to get around...almost think Judy we saw them at Chicago waterfront as well??? the in thing..
Glad you both decided to take "YOU" time, every marriage should have date nights!!!! Nothing like getting more plants for the garden..
My SIL Charlene's birthday is tomorrow, little gathering to celebrate, she works until 3:30 so it won't be until late afternoon..she loves gardening so it will be an easy pick for a gift...."FLOWERS"
Been busy this morning trying to finish of the main t- shirt design as it's too iffy to be outside..one of those days that looks as though it will rain any second but doesn't...
Breakfast if calling, more material cut-outs hopefully by then we'll know that the weather is calling for and I can get on with doing nothing..lol
Morning Betty and all... Those segways were invented by an man who lives 20 miles from me. His name is Dean Kamen and he is an amazing man. We see them zipping around in the city quite often. He has several inventions involving transportation under his belt. He also sponsors a science competition thing with the schools that he pays for completely which encourages young people to get into the scientific arena. A brilliant man!!!
Norm and I are off to a baseball game today. Hope you all enjoy your weekend.
