A bunch of girls are getting together in Ohio end of June, Crissy was seeing if she couldn't wrangle a trip up and I could pick her up at the Buffalo Airport and we could drive to Ohio together, I'd have company, she'd have company and we could visit with you for a few hours..let's hope it pans out..or maybe on my way to my place you could join us for a few days....get those documents...

LK - Let me know how the rhododendrons work in your area... maybe if you can get one to grow...I can try as well.... They probably don't like humidity though...we have plenty of that.... LOL
Barb/Deb/Betty - dont you love how some plants remind of MOM! I tried to think of which ones would remind me of mine... she LOVED gardening so much it's hard to think of one... I'll have to really put my mind to it.... camellias, gardenias, Deb... I truly believe that was your Mom sending you a sign. Those blooms are for you....

I know that the smell of snapped green beans reminds me of Mom... she planted a ton of green beans and would snap them herself.... I might have to plant green beans one day :)
Our Disney visit was so utterly perfect... I kept thinking that it was a sign that it was okay for me to be taking this trip. You see... I did have a speck of guilt leaving the rest of the family...but the girls had school and DH had to work.... I really really needed a BREAK...and to know it was okay to relax and not feel guilty...

Betty - I remember your Roger's plant.... Please post a picture of it !

I'm not sure what pic you may want to see....but I will find one from last night that means a lot to me.....

You deserved the break, glad you were able to let go and enjoy...when you were saying what reminded you of your mom I was thinking to myself, wonder what will remind my children of me...what came quickly was...'burnt food!!!!' yes, it will be that for sure.. will take photo of the Roger plant, not sure what flower it will provide..I stopped this morning and purchased a light pink astilbe and a ??? bright green shrub to match my other one..can't for the life of me remember it's name...wanted to look at perrenials to purchase something I don't have but time was just a clicking so perhaps this weekend... I do have a rhododendren (?) and no leaves as yet but it is flowering...it's in full sunshine...try one then you will know how it adapts to your area...how's work going, still having fun?

Bev, you don't just have 1 good looking man, you've a yard full...I'm so glad Debbie and I got to visit with you, as you post your photo I can see Scotty sitting on the deck, what he's looking at, the beauty of your art decorated yard, can see you strolling through you lillies..that's the neatest thing about visiting with one another, when we post, we see that person and see them in their own environment...so everything is operational??? Bev, I'm with you, not too old to look and appreciate a good speciman..old age showing Bev, did you say you sold all your lots or were you able to keep the lot that the trailer was on? if so, are you able to visit from time to time now that Scotty is not well?

Last night I got home at 5:30, just pulled into the yard and 3 of the girls with their hubbies came to pick up their birdbaths and cement rhubbarb leaves, didn't leave until 7:00...as 3 of the leaves needed to be replaced I walked over next door to get a few leaves, ended up coming back with 2 perrenials, Star of David, oh my, beautiful 6 petal white leaf flowered plan..enough to divide into 3 plants, did the cement, just doing another birdbath and over comes June..she has 2 small adirondak chairs that she's painting spiderman on (sold) and wants me to help..told her I had tuesday night bingo cards for the 8:00 pm t.v. bingo but could help in between, we both set ourselves up, she sees she's forgotten her pattern, I make something to eat and off she goes to get the pattern, returns without the main tracing so by now it's 8:15pm...told her she might want to consider coming back another night..today all the painters are at the house and are doing adirondak chairs with 'blue heron' on them...oh/oh that reminded me of the beautiful 3 1/2' blue heron I did in stained glass that is still hidden under the spare room bedroom..should put that on this weekends 'to do' list... by the time she left and I finished bingo, nope, didn't win and didn't even come close..had that 2,600.00 already spend, new riding lawnmower it was time for bed, didn't even get any weeding done..drats!

Originally they were calling for rain both Sat. and Sun. now I see it's Saturday only...still a chance of sunshine 2 of the 3 days I'm off...If I can only get my weeding done then the rest of the summer I can sit and enjoy the yard...do you believe that?

Wow,Betty you are forever busy! Makes my head spin, lol...
OH gosh, We got a ton of work done at the house...Had a nice crew here or there too.
We cleared the gigantic firepit out and rebuilt it to a more managable size. I took some hosta up and planted those, weeded around the front deck and planted a few iris, should have thought of that in the fall! Duh. The grass was mowed.
On the inside, cleaned up the mess DH made...Had a nice visit with Joyce and heather and started a new puzzle.
Then Sunday Jake and I set in new stones for a small path. I shouldn't have tried to move them myself. It was really stupid and now I am paying for it. Back is still sore. I kind of feel like I got hit by a truck...So not much is getting done here, oh well
gives me time to practice my blocks...

Today, i am going to Glen Ellyn..it's about an hour away. My friend Diane is giving me some Day lilys...She doesn't remember the name but they are sort of a butterscotch color, very pretty!

I've got Jacob home sick! He's never sick...He has a flu bug. So sleeping soundly.

Love how you talk to your plants, lol I do this too! Last night i took a tiny walk to my roses, chattered up a storm at Carol's Love...She came back very healthy and I am so happy to say she has two baby buds!! Garden, is healthy but no buds yet! My Iris are all starting to pop!

One of our newcasters was in Chicago and visited the waterfront, he went on and on and on about the beauty of Chicago..couldn't agree more...he was wishing our Toronto mayor and council would agree not to second best development, do it and do it right just like Chicago..I'm all for that...so enjoyed our sightseeing tour with you and Steve and Liz...

Was a huge burden off me. I am still planting daylilies and as soon as I have them done, must do weeding arround each one so can put mulch down. I only have 167 and about 50 seedlings. The seedlings will not go in until fall. I am not going to grow anymore hostas or daylilies from seed!!!!!!! I am going to down size on a lot of things so can take care of these.

So beautiful..I know you've got me purchasing lillies..can't wait till the July 1st weekend so I can purchase more at the Elmvale celebration streetfair..I can only see about 4 so far out of the ground, slow moving up here in the north...ONLY have 167...yikes...that's sure is a lot..can't believe you know most of them by name...

Already ate my lunch at my desk, on a mission today, got to go to a few factories to see if they carry the copper coated metal wire I need for the stained glass flower holder..Greg deals with a few distributors, gave me their name and said if they don't carry it perhaps they can order it in..if they don't sell to public then I'm to tell them to put it on his business account...can't beat that...

I gotta go out and weed. Scotty is going to sit on the porch and watch me. That is his favorite thing to do. I didn't think he would come back this far in his health but he is doing great. HUGS BEV

OHHH Betty, I got in trouble!

Found some bulbs on sale, Glads, some daylillies in a beautiful purple....and one I had to have because it was a Susan G. Koman. Then picked up a few....and not that I sit down, I forget the name! One is a wavy petunia for a hanging pot.....the other I believe is an Aster that grows in the shade...I will have to go look! LOL Oh and four vinca vines to start.

Debbie, Crissy is trying to come up here end of June, please/please can you try and get that border crossing document..I'd be picking her up at Buffalo Airport..could pick you up for a few days and drop you off when I take her back to the airport...do you think it's the airport which is north of Tree House and south of the hotel I stay at on Niagara Falls Blvd?

Betty the only way I know how to get to the airport....is down past cracker barrel....quite a ways....and turn right following the sign. That is the only airport I know of with the big planes.

Paul will run the rollertiller for me, and he will pull weeds if I ask him. HOWEVER, he can't tell the difference between a weed and a plant unless it is big and blooming. He does veggie gardens....I do flower gardens....and we stay out of each others. LOL

I will do my best to get to MVD and get the license upgrade. Going to go print papers right now, and see exactly what I need. I have must been too lazy.

Out of your lazy funk Debbie....must be the airport I'm thinking about, seems quite large..if I cross over Saturday I'll check it out...just maybe then Paul won't find out..lol
