Good Evening!!
Betty, I am so glad the doc appointment was good! At least it sounded good to me, lol.
well, we went to the baseball game last night. it was fun. big bummer we lost, sigh...
Hey Crissy, good news on the weight loss, lol maybe those added two are just muscle weight...
Glad you had a busy day, sometime they are the best, lol time speeds ahead.
Woohoo, got our mechanic out to look at some small motors and he will be able to fix all of them.
I am so happy because one of them is my tiller, keeping my fingers crossed, when he does it will start up nice and easy as the lawnmower.
Well, I have started on this new quilt block, decided to give it a try, you know practice, Ha now I thought if a block says 12" it would be a 12.5 when finished?? This just does not look right, lolol I'm not sure I'm cut out to be a quilter.
Betty, what are you working on?? Oh and hey I am doing a happy dance to see your going to Sistah Joyce's!!! Woohooo, I will see you there.
Well going to sulk at my block, lol see if that helps me figure it out.
Linda Kay, are you home yet? How was the Trip?
And Mary too...
Best/Worse and what did I learn today?visit with friends...
Judy, the finished block is 12 1/2 " when sewn into a quilt then using up 1/4" on each side gives you your 12" block..don't give up, you are doing just fine...oooh so want to share my July 4th swap project with someone and just can't, not until I get my name, that's the pitzzzzz...
Sorry your team didn't win, bet it was fun just the same...nothing like wanting to work with your tools/equipment etc. and them not working...Greg used a wire to tie my lawnmower piece so it can work..better not get in trouble as it just won't stop until I run out of gas..lol..need my lawn cut so that was the alternative..
I would have thought Steve would be good at machinery repair, no???
Still praying you get that job, just know it should be yours so hurry up get all your chores and projects done because you'll soon be employed..just know it...
Judy, was going to help Rita do the wedding arch but she just called, long/long story, one which I'll take time to tell you tomorrow...because Rita was coming, June had asked if she could come and paint some adirondak chairs for kids, as I was going to be busy I said sure...now I'm sorry I did because I could have been relaxing...
as for projects I've used up all my left over wool doing those lap afghans for the seniors so now I have to buy more so no crochet...have a few more girls coming on Sunday, think it's around 12 now and possibly a few more so getting everything I need together..
Almost fainted, wanted to order 25 bags of cement and have it delivered Sat. morning, it's no further than 1 mile down the road and they want $50.00 to do so..hesitating but then I think, no way do I want to be making 5 or 6 trips lifting those bags, might be $50.00 well spent..what do you think?
Stopped at Bernie's on my way home, he had done some of the metal work I need for one of the projects, I have to pick up copper tubbing and he said if I picked up the materials tomorrow he'd do the hard work, what a relief...
So all and all I'm organized and ready BUT I have to depend on Mother Nature for no rain...will be adding that request to my prayer list for sure...
Nothing like having company and being in your nightie..I'm so trained to walk in the door, put the tub on, get into my jammies that I didn't even think until I was putting my foot into the tub that now wasn't the time for my bath..oh well, June isn't like real company, more like family..hope she thinks so..lol
Well best go make my coffee and see what trouble I can get into..
Morning, where are you all???? Hoping all are enjoying sunshine and outdoor gardening..
This morning I dropped into Bernie's, lordy had a nice visit which almost caused me to be late...gee he's a helpful brother...
I brought flower pots to show him how the topsy/turvy main copper unit should hold them, I still had to go purchase materials, told me not to and he's doing something special (soldering) for me, told me he'd get the bill...then on the counter was my diagram for the potting shed, he asked me dimentions, said if he was in the area the next few days he'd pick up the material and put it in his workshop and I could come there even if it's raining and we could do the project together..told him NOT to be worrying about my shed, eventually I'll get it done..Charlene was getting ready to go to the fields and do electric fencing so the horses can't get out, she works as well as any man I know...told her one day I'd come over and we'd go horseback riding..I'll have to drop in when I have more time...Bernie remembered that I wanted a 2nd layer put on back bedroom deck for easy access, said when he's not busy he'd get that done, I quickly added that I wanted changes to the back from coming off the kitchen so that come fall I could close it in more easily and on my own...jotted that down..told me to get to work before he had 2 months worth of work..lol...
It's overcast and cold..still looking at Sunday forecast...sunshine..oh please let it stay that way...
I'm on telephone with mom, she's been to a specialist re her knees, needs replacement..he thinks his her last fall she's done something to her liver, now ordered tests for that..
Well guess I chatted enough, talk later
Poor Bernie - you are going to wear that poor man out long before he finishes your projects!!!!! I've heard slow and steady but you need to give him time!!! He sounds amazing Betty.
Today is a housework day and play at computer between loads of laudry. I've been away a lot lately but been busy.
Off to fold clothes - Be back later----
I have a family of these:
http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Tufted_Titmouse/sounds
How wonderful for you Crissy. I love watching the new babies as the fledge. And I also love to listen to them. Mom and Dad get so excited over them....
Keep that laundry for a rainy day Barb..as for Bernie, he's as bad as I, always needs to be doing something...if it were just me, I'd say I have a problem, but it's my entire family...shhh don't tell hime that he could say 'no'...
Crissy love the DG birdhouse and the little ones...I was throwing lint away this morning from the dryer and thought maybe I should go set it on the ground around where the birdhouses are, that way I would make their life a little easier...
LOL at the muscles...
Tubby, you resting?
Bev, how is Scotty doing..have you got all your daylillies planted?
Debbie, how are you sweetie?
Laura, come back to us please...
HI Betty
yup just reading the post....LOL
Tubby
Hi
OMG, totally forgot today was Wednesday. I finished my Practice piece. Tadah, had to rip it out 4 times..
ROFLOL, well there is a but! It is not 12.5 lolol. But I did learn how to print the right size out.
and I figure, I can still use that piece for something else, OHHH and Hello, Jude, this can be srunk down for smaller ones too!
Hot diggity!!
Tomorrow is Steve's Birthday! I was considering getting him a biscuit cutter, just so I can get my screen doors put on!!! Okayyy, year and half now. LOL, Hahah, I figure he will not use for another year so, got him a card instead. LOL, go ahead and laugh, its true and yep shaking my head laughing too.
Crissy, how cool! I really like your bird houses and so sweet you have babies. Nice camera to get close shot.
LOL, Chair exercises are great for the muscles! my legs are stronger for it.
Betty, Bernie is a doll. You know, I love how he helps you all the time. I sure miss that about my Brother being here.
Oh gosh, I sure hope everything is good with Rita...So what did you decide on with the cement? I hope it was to have them lug it, I 'm in agreement spend the money, save your back!!
Waiving Hi to Wonderhug, Yep come out to play.
Barb, hope you got everything done, I did housework too...in between the practice piece. Skittles helped me with the piece.
tomorrow, laundry day...
Plus I really need to get outside and pull weeds.
Guess who I talked to today?? Marion!! It was great to catch up with her.
Not much else going on here, will be a quiet night.
Hope your all cozy and enjoying evening.
Judy, spit my coffee out, got him a card instead..too cute! Me of course I'd have gone for the joiner but then you know me and tools..have one of those joiners, not something you use often, let me see now, I've had it 3 years and it's never been open, perhaps a card is the key..
You'll get the hang of making quilt blocks through trial and error, don't know that I enjoy all the precision involved in block making, rather use the paper piecing method, hard to go wrong there...yep enlarge/reduce -just like magic...
Yes Judy, Bernie has been a godsend to me..looks after me as though I was his mom..I stopped at his house tonight, he and a neighbor Brian (ooooh should have reminded Brian that he offered to come with his equipment are redo back lawn this summer) aren't I a terrible brat...anyway they were repairing Bernie's lawnmower...first thing he said, 'you here again?' I nodded, told me that he hadn't got into town due to helping Charlene do the electric fencing but said it was on his list of 'todo's' for tomorrow..as long as I get them all by Saturday I'm ok...he's doing the major copper soldering so we old gals don't burn our fingers or the house down..
One of the girls just called to say she can't make it Sunday...I'm ok with that, whoever comes comes..I'm set for 12, what's left I can use as garden gifts if someone drops in...
Tired tonight but restless..went to do a load of wash, there in the corner was an old lamp base - about 5 or 6' tall, some of the hardware missing, electrical parts not safe, don't know why I purchased it at a garage sale but did...was looking at the shelf and wasn't there a large glass plate, on the side was a large glass bowl..aha, before you know it I glued the 2 glass pieces together, glued it to the top of the lamp base...now the 3 holders need something, remember at the store they had clear glass saucers and bowls so tomorrow I'll pick up 3 sets, check the house for candles and voila, when I'm sitting in the gazebo at night, I can light the lamp candles and enjoy..as though I ever sit outside...lol...
Time for bed...
Judy need to see your finished block
Now how did I know you'd order more...now tell me, do they multiply? hope so because you've got me into daylillies...I was just checking out when the Elmvale Street celebration is so I can mark it on my calendar, lady comes in with hundred of them and sells for reasonable prices...guess I'll never catch up to you though..lol
Glad Scotty is doing ok...scarry about so many meds, have to wonder is one goes against the other...
So what will you do on this rainy day?
LindaKay, you back yet?
Going to be a quiet day here again, I've got 2 books here on my desk, one is 100 ideas for outdoor decor and the other on garden rooms, wow, sure wish I was home and get some gardening done...
There comes a times I think where you can go overboard with gardens/garden art..going to ask the group that is coming on Sunday what they think..hopefully they will tell me the truth..lol
Well I screwed up an account, I knew that was going to happen sooner or later, so I'm going to be busy fixing my mess up. What's worse is I think the girl I screwed up screwed up after I did. This could be bad, but I guess I can't learn if I don't make mistakes. Ya think?
Oh Crissy, everyone makes errors, am sure you will find where and what went wrong, doesn't make for a good day though..did it cause financial cost to the firm or was it found just in time....
Is your bad weather behind you now?
Can you go out and do things you enjoy when the caregivers are there Bev? Glad you have some help...
Wish I lived closer, know where some of the hosta's and daylillies would go..
I go to the Church plant sale which I believe is the first Sat. in June each year..always come back with about 40-50 plants..they were very reasonable at one time but the are starting to get quite pricy and usually same people donate so many of the plants are same old/same old so won't get much this year, will buy at the nursery so I can find different plants...
Is there a market for you to see???
Do the lillies that have such a beautiful odor also multiply? that's mostly the kind I've been buying..oriental's aren't they?
No, no financial cost, just a voided receipt that shouldn't have been voided and it messed the journals and balance sheet up. Just a pain to fix. My first big mistake in almost 3 years, not bad!!
I have something blooming around my front porch that smells sooooo good, but I have no idea where it's coming from, there's nothing blooming that I can see!
Could it be a plant? Photo please...
So all is well now with the accounting?
I was thinking of that store we visited in Memphis and wish I was there, had so many nice garden things...
No, I'm waiting for a fax and her computer data, then I'm going to go back in Lisa's office and have her help me so I don't screw it up even more.
Did you find it or did they????
I know I've a lot of different plants Bev, but we're so far behind here in the season that I really don't get to see them until June or so, I'll have to look tonight to see if they are breaking ground.
When they did their month end report everything was messed up, so I told someone about it and they said it shouldn't have been voided. We've got the receipt back to where it's supposed to be, now after I eat something I'll need to find where the journals messed up the balance sheet and fix that.
We haven't had any bad weather here at all, just hot and muggy. All of the bad weather has been over my mom's and close to my dads.
Nice lily Bev! How are you and Scotty doing?
Wish it was hot and muggy here..yikes, only 13 degrees, sitting here with micro furnace on and a sweater...send me some of your hot weather please Crissy..
I'm sending it Betty, I'm sending it! 13 degrees!!! That's insane!! I got behind a car that had Ontario plates driving to work this morning and thought that I would just get them to pull over and take me with them! LOL
Hello Everyone!
Bev, so nice to see your plants blooming! Oh no voles, anything you can do about them?
Wow, your Iris are so PRETTY. I am so happy to hear Scotty's lift came making things better for you too.
Does he come and keep you company while you work in the yard?
Crissy, big drag about the mess up. Don't beat yourself up about it, at least it fixable. But you are right thats how ya learn.
Hmmm, do you have Lily of the Valley, maybe they are hiding, throwing off a pretty scent.
Betty, lol haven't given Steve his card yet. He took off real early this morning. Oh but I am pleased to say I made him a special dinner.
Just finished, all I have to do is pop it in the oven. Individual Chicken pot pies, yummy. And the left overs (not in pies) will make a nice caserole, just in case anyone wants extra. I am going to have Sabrina make salads(her specialty) She also made his favorite, cheese cake for dessert. Thursday nights are family night, we all have dinner around the TV and watch our favorite surviver.
OMG, it poured and Poured all night and a good part of the morning. Water finally stopped leaking into the house.
Julia and Anthony Mopped with bleach water so that all cleaned up. Will have to give it another mopping later and then maybe one more time tomorrow...It's suppose to rain some more tonight, Im going to need a canoe soon, lolol.
Oh we are going to the Cottage for the weekend. Pier is to be set out, lots of weeding and planting and I think we are finally picking out the carpeting for the up stairs. So, Some last minute decorating can also be done, I am debating about bringing my sewing machine...
Yikes, I might have to drive!
Sooo, I went to Joannes and got some nice material for my swaps! and a few ideas about something I think I'd like to make, lol, looks simple enough...Oh and I got an application to fill out there, lol thought I'm there every other day, might as well see if I could get a job, lol.
Hey! Has anyone heard from Audrey?? I haven't seen her post anywhere for a long time.
Audrey, if your lurking, waiving Hello, How are you?
Oh Betty, My gosh, sure hope your weather warms up. Oh, you'll have to post a pic of your new/old light post, sounds like it will be a pretty candle holder! LOL, you and Bernie have a great relationship...leave it to brothers to tease!
How did Steve's family get together go last night, all tummy's full, lots of pressie's for him? guess you finally got to give him his card..
Judy, don't know what I'd do without Bernie, you just mention something and he's there willing to do it! My youngest brother is a bit different, very
'executive' type person, very into me/me/me..lots of years between us..guess because Bernie lives so close and I drop in a lot it makes the difference..he had soldered all the copper pipes/top and pot support for us on 12 units, only thing the girls will have to do will be to add the metal fins - 6 screws...Bernie said if it rained and I couldn't do the birdbaths then I should have them sand them, buff them and paint them to pass the time of day..you don't see any of it, so we just had a good laugh about that...
This afternoon I'll go to Atlas Block and order all the materials I need for the birdbaths, decorative pkgs. are all made so unless Mother Nature throws a curve, I'm ready for the fun get together...
Still calling for rain tonight so hoping to get home, cut the grass before it starts..
Keep thinking Paul will have pity on us today and say we can leave at 1:00 or 2:00 instead of 3:00 but then with our long weekend next weekend he might do it then...
Yikes, called the hotel about maybe booking a room for next weekend in Buffalo, room rates went from $59.99 to $149.99 - guess it's tourist time so not sure if I'll go other than go and just spend the day...
What do you all have planned, will next weekend be a long weekend for you as well?
Lost another Canadian Soldier yesterday..24 years of age...prayers for his family please!
Yea Judy, I'm just trying to figure out the journals that are messed up and I am so tired this morning I can't seem to focus, plus I have a muscle jumping in my left eye and it's driving me nuts! Didn't wear my contacts today, too lazy to put them in.
I figured out what the smell is, it's honeysuckle!! There's a whole bunch growing wild and it smells soooooooooooooo good!!!
We get a long weekend, I'm taking May 28th off and we're going to spend 3 days at my mom's in OKC. That will be fun, so glad Dave's coming with me.
Sssooooooo I scheduled an eye dr appt on May 20th at 10:30 and didn't put two and two together and completely forgot that it's Dave's birthday that day! Doesn't matter, just funny that I didn't think about it. DUH!!
You'll get yourself into trouble Crissy not remembering Dave's birthday...lol...honeysuckle, have a couple but they are not doing well and are far from the house..have to go smelling them..another shrub that I absolutely love for the odor is mockorange..I've about 4, they are young shrubs..when in bloom the entire yard smells so lovely...
Maybe Crissy you should leave the journal until you are fresh on Monday morning????is that possible???
Hope you enjoy getting away with Dave..you haven't been anywhere in ages have you?
Hoping my mom drops in today on her way to the cottage..I forgot my gps in her van and might need it next weekend..
I WANT to go home...
It needs to be done ASAP, this district isn't able to work in that specific computer program until I am done.
The last time we went somewhere was..... let's see, we went on the cruise last May, in fact we were boarding the boat at noon on May 14, 2009. That's weird! LOL and I think that was the last time we went on a vacation together because of his ridiculous hours. I think we've been to Memphis a few times since then, and in March we went to Cabot, AR to a DG gals house for lunch, but that's just an hour away. I think we've been to Memphis between now and then, but I've done so much by myself I can't remember when he was with me and when he wasn't.
Good luck finishing the journal..pressure/pressure...
Oooh I want to go to Memphis just so I can go to the pottery place...
Time flies, imagine, already 1 year since your cruise..
Is Dave looking for employment or does he wait until UIC runs out?
He applied for a job last Monday but haven't heard anything yet. Got my fingers crossed!
Is it in the same line of work Crissy? here's praying something will come up...
Mom just dropped in to drop off my gps..along with it was $$$ just incase next Saturday I go over to USA..she wants a few things..leave it to mom..boy is she hobbling but otherwise looks ok..hair done, new outfit, looks like a young chick...Jim is dropping her off at Rama so she can win some jackpots...lol
Well it's that time of night, got my craft room somewhat organized tonight, I picked up the wheel hub for Greg's invention, took me into the shop to show me what it looks like so far...omg, he's quite the designer and fabricated..went home to eat and on his way to the shop excited as can be...just had to come and show me the tire he bought for the roadster..
'look mom, it's got flames' ..these boys don't grow up, so much like their dad, love their toys...lol
He did take a few minutes to fix the brake son my bike, change the seat..told me he'd go pick up the cement in the morning for me .. sure do thank the Lord for giving me such a good boy..
While he was playing with bikes, I was gluing glassware to the lamp..guess some old lady doesn't grow up either...
Hope you've enjoyed your day..gab later
