Just filled the tub with hot water, bit too hot yet so here I am, almost ready to call it a day..even Greg fell asleep when we came in, bet he's thrilled Mothers' Day is only once a year..lol...much too much work...

Stained glass is up, let's see now if I can't break this one...

looks lovely when you sit on back deck and watch the sunfilter through the glass...

Greg and Kyle putting up the metal baskets so I can fill with flowers/vines

Putting the patio set together wasn't much of a problem..winds was so bad that I told them to forget about the side screens on the gazebo, now that they've put the roof up I can handle each panel of screen on my own...won't take but an hour...

I'll say like Greg, lots of places to sit but they must do so at night because he's never seen anyone sitting...

We had a great laugh, said 'isn't it amazing that I've been here 5 years and when I moved here there was but about 5 tulips and maybe a few iris!'...didn't take about a second for Greg and Kyle to say, 'now you are lucky to find grass!' lol..takes me about 2 hrs. to cut grass, maybe they are on the right track, better create more gardens..

Have a mold for benches, poured the top, then put my leftover glass and glass bobbles on it, was in the back forty, not able to enjoy it's beauty..finally got a pair of cement legs for it, Greg/Kyle moved it the it's new location..just maybe I'll take time to sit and watch the fishies...did I say fishies? will have 4 - just have to pick them up from Bernie's...

One last post before I call it a night...

The old wicker chairs and plant holder are now set in the fire pit ready to toast marshmallows on some night..much too windy to do so tonight..the settee though is in good enough condition as is the table to set into the hidden garden...at least for this year...

Bath is waiting me, cannot wait to hear all about your day..will give me reading for tomorrow won't it...

Oh, almost forgot tomorrow will be a short day, Doctor wants to see me..could I just enjoy the afternoon off and not go?

Gab later..
God bless you and yours!

Morning...will warm weather ever come our way?

Judy, this afternoon at 3:40 I go and go I will..he's always good for a laugh..

Got up this morning with tummy churning, you know my friends Ann and Mike, well Mike went to the specialist on Thursday and then they were heading north to the cottage to digest whatever news he received about his 2nd bout of cancer in the lungs...Ann and I e-mailed back and forth Wedn. afternoon..I said I wouldn't call, would wait until she shared the outcome..no call and no visit, so I'm thinking the worse..let's hope I'm wrong..will e-mail her this morning!

So Judy, tell me why you were in need of a beer and on Mothers'Day no less?

Tubby, hope you still enjoyed your visit though..are you sleeping any better?
Well, girls are coming painting today, so I need to clean the craft room from sewing materials..oooh so wish I could share my Sat. project with you but no can do as you are in same swap and I just might get your name...

Better get a move on, want to stop at Canadian Tire, the cord they sold me for the lawnmower was the wrong one, Greg said if I was able to get the correct one he'd drop in tonight and change it, times running out so off I go

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just made contact with Ann, here's her post...

"You know me well, things didn’t go well, so haven’t said much. There are now 17 spots up almost 50% so no surgery at this time. We are waiting to get an appt with the Chemo Oncologist"

Sure could use your prayers...

Glenview, IL

Good Morning...
Betty, glad you will see the doc.

Well, I was in need of a beer because MIL and SIL were over...LOL they are such a disfunctional family.
They came early to see the pictures and movie from the trip. So while Steve was preparing dinner, MIL blabbed his ear off, for 45 mins about someones parking space, All the while SIL grumbling how she is sick of hearing this same story and BIL mocking mil with so anyway...hahaha, DH tried like heck to continue working on dinner, walk out to grill and MIL starts on me about how she isn't finished with the story! LOL, I said well he'll be right back so she goes out to grill just as he's about to come back in. OMG what fiaskle...
LOL, she never did finish her story, Steve put on the movie, now she talking during the entire thing asking about the same questions that were just mentioned in the film...Now Laurie was getting real mad yelling at her to shut up and watch the movie, yikes and yow, this chased my kids away. They didn't want to hear her talk that way to MIL.
And MIL, continues on how she cant see, so I asked where her glasses were, geesh, they were in her purse. So I get her purse and now she can't hear!! OMG I thought Steve was going to loose it too, but he did ok, He turned on the surround sound to TV...
by this time, I am starting to get frazzled with all the comotion, very loud TV, they are all talking over the TV...Then only TV on, so, i go in to see why its so quiet, MIL, is sound asleep, SIL disappeared somewhere and DH out at the grill.
He comes back in and so does SIL...Now part of the movie is about KRKA National Park, where we saw the most incredible, Waterfalls..SIL jumps up and says, who the h**** wants to see all that water!! LOL Thought Julia was going to slug her, So Julia and Breenie leave again. Poor Steve, he was so excited for them to see his movie, and they didn't even appreciate it...So Anyway(lol)
Dinner comes and wow, the I.L.s all take a seat, they didn't even pull out the table, so I made a plate and sat at my craft table all by myself! After dinner Steve gave her mothers day gifts...We bought a gorgeous clock made of stone for her, from Italy. As soon as he saw it he had to get it for her. Well, My poor honey again disappointed. She had brought with her a clock for him to fix, which he was going to, and all she could say to him was I want my clock fixed, I want my clock back, shaking my head I left the room. My girls felt so bad for DH, they left too...Well, then they all came back and gave me cards and a flat of annuals! So pretty they are. I have been prettying up the entry so,I will plant them there...By the time they left at 7:00 We all were frustrated.
So, Steve watched baseball in sort of a daze, and Julia and I had a nice fire. Breenie came in and asked if i had a nice Mothers Day, lol I did but it was really on Saturday, We all went to lunch and watched movies, and on Mothers Day, I got lots of hugs and kisses too!

Julia, Anthony and Alissa are taking Steve and I to the Cubs game! This is part of Mothers day and Steve's birthday, his bd is Wednesday! So it should be fun, lol just hope I can stay up...it's a late game, usually I am in bed by 9:30, lol better take a nap.

LOL again, anyway, that is why I needed a beer!

I hope you got the right cord!
Here is the Towel Dress I gave MIL, she loved it, lol thank goodness.

OH Betty, so sorry to hear more spots.
Yes sending up prayers right away...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Sending lots of prayers for Ann and Mike.

It stormed all night, nothing severe or strong, just thunderheads moving directly over my house and making a lot of noise while doing so, not to mention the torrential downpours, hope the veggie garden survived.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy/Judy/Judy, think I would have gone searching for a 24 of beer after all that commotion...drats, nothing worse than planning a nice day with family and that happening..I'd have taken back the clock..truly would have...love the towel dress..know you put a lot of effort into it..

Don't you hate it when people disappoint you? you got my adrenaline going here...I had a conversation on Friday with Suzanne, she and I are made of the same cloth, always trying to do something for someone...don't get this wrong NOT LOOKING for a pat on the back but a simple acknowledgement of the kindness shouldn't be out of line right? now I need a beer Judy and I've never even tasted beer..lol

Was at Canadian Tire this morning to return the cord, nope, although they sold me the lawnmower they don't carry all the replacement parts..hoping after the doctor's I'll find a lawnmower repair shop in Midland and see if they don't have one if they can order me one...meantime, Greg wired it up lol..just can't fill with gas, put it at 3/4 of a tank which just about does the yard and let it run out, only way of shutting it off...too funny...I've cut grass 2 weeks in a row, love it...think Cathy's nose is out of joint as she usually cuts it...

Girls are painting at my house, Darlene called for a couple of things, needed the stained glass/copper piece I bought in USA for her Mike to make a template and order proper metal, fell in love with my USA July 4th swap item...oooh I just want to share it but can't ...you never know who might see it..asked me why all my cushions are in the house, didn't I want them enjoying my new gazebo set? wish I was home with them all today....

Betty, I need your help...
I was given a little "pond" it is a large Pot of sorts, I think it is made of some sort of resin??? inside the bottom of it is a lovely mosaic...beautiful stained glass irises...some of the "grout" is missing...it is solid, does not leak, but you can see the spots where grout is missing....how can I fix??/ do you know... is there a special grout for bing in the water??.......
also there is a little pump, which fits into an iris, ( water dribbles out of the flower petals) that hooks over the side of the pot...the paint is peeling off of the iris, and I would like to try to repaint??? can I use acrylic craft paints??? once dry they will be water proof??? I will take a few pics and post

but I figured if anybody would have an idea on how to fix ...it would be you ...it is an absolutely beautiful piece, would like to put it in my breezeway, and maybe put a couple small gold fish in it....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thunder, I use for my glass window and also my glassed bench regular tile grout and sealed it...is it a large area you need to grout, it's about $17.99 here for a box but if it's only for a few inches of grouting I could ship you some..have several colors....I've also used instead of the tile spray sealer (oil based) I've used cooking oil on the grout which makes it non-pourous..I've some liquid sealer as well that I could send...

acrylic paints should do the trick if you seal it afterwards...photo please..

Oooh memory just jogged in...think Michaels has patio paints which would do and if memory serves me right in their mosaic department you get get maybe a small bag of grouting or similar product..let me know, if I can help I sure will...

absolutely gorgeous, no wonder you want to repair it...

I'd pick up 'pure pigment paint' in your regular paint dept. only because of it's strength..if you dry brush some on and leave some of the background color it will look aged and add to the project..

Want to see it operational..lol

Yikes, 1 more hour and I get to leave for my Dr.'s appt.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

pond again, I can't get any closer without a ton of glare, if you enlarge the photo I think you will be able to see the dark spots where the grout is missing...not a lot, but I would like to fix it if I can...isn't it pretty!!! paint also peeling in the bottom around the glass....

as I said, it does work, does not leak......but would like to spiff it up...

Thumbnail by barefootT
Victoria Harbour, ON

It's homemade isn't it? at least the mosaic looks as though it's homemade..you hardly need any grout..try Michael's or local craft store, if you can't find what you need let me know...that pattern would look lovely on a cement stepping stone..lot's of work though but ohhh so pretty..

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

No it is not home made, was purchased at wal-mart (or so I was told), about 10 - 12 yrs ago, has sat unused for quite a few....

we do have a Michaels not too far I will look and see what they have....thank you VERY Much...I just knew you would know....so I am looking for white grout...It will be a powdered mix ??? like what you use for tile floor correct???

Glenview, IL

Wow, Thunder!!
That is beautiful!! I hope you'll be able to get it fixed.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I agree, that is beautiful Thunder!

Quote from Bettypauze :
think Cathy's nose is out of joint

LOL!! I've never heard that one before!

Victoria Harbour, ON

That's a famous saying here Crissy when you've upset someone you say 'put her nose out of joint' lol

Dr. wants me to have a going over re my kidney's..seeings as I have 1/4 of one and 1/8th of another and 'pig' yep 'pig' valves he thinks a check up would be in order as it's been done about 30 years...cholestoral is high, so meds for that, more blood tests and told me to keep nitro on me..not to worry that I'm in great shape, says it's precautionary...ok..I'm for that...

On the way home it was sunshine, beautiful day, probably temp in the 50's..was thinking about the 10 - 12 girls coming on Sunday to do 3 projects..yikes..want to do cement leaves, birdbath and the topsy turvey planters...

I had stopped at Bernie's, he's cutting my metal for all the copper planter units so not much work except get materials for that project..lordy it's nice to have brothers isn't it?

Tomorrow after work I'll stop at the farmers on one of the concession and order rhubbarb just so I can get the leaves for all the stepping stones, today I priced out cement..told the man what I was doing and he suggested something different..not wanting to try it Sunday and find out it didn't work I decided to pick up a bag and pour one tonight..

Should have had my shells colored but I can do it after..also doing the die for the cement comes after the project has hardened..Cathy dropped in on her way to her weight loss group at the church, had I not been in old grubs I would have gone with her...so, had just enough the make a small 2nd birdbath..she put her shells and bobbles in..we used what I had after all it's just to check the strength of the project...we'll finish it Wedn. night..

Wouldn't you know, Missy walked into mine and I've a few kitty paw prints in mine...lol..will that scare the birdies away do you think?

Thunder, grout comes in different colors, go in mosaic dept. and pick the one closest to what is on it now...

Supper is ready best I get at it...

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Lol Betty, and here it would be "Beins as I have 1/4 of one and 1/8th of another..." (be ins)

That's very cute! I want a bird bath but Dave says no, because he'll end up cleaning it. Don't know why in the world he would think that LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

You can't see the depth in the photo, am sure once it's out of the ground you'll have a better idea..not much to cleaning these, water slowly disapates and you just keep adding water when you are watering the plants...I was out about 5:30am this morning, was so tempted to lift them out of the ground but thought I'd give them more curing time..

Funny how we all have little sayings...

How's work going...

LindaKay, missing you, how did the trip with your dad go..bet he's already settled in...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Work is busy, which is fine with me. Keeps my mind off of food! LOL I lost 10 pounds in the past month and gained 2 of it back over the weekend. Got to get back on the stick!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I know about the losing and putting on...Suzanne is back to wanting to eat lunch at our regular hide outs and I've put on 3 lbs....this morning didn't help, Paul brought in Tim Hortons and donuts..I know, I don't have to eat it but they keep saying 'have one' 'have one' so am going to tell them all no more, back on it I go..

Think once Greg gets the new seat on my bike I'm going to ride the trails for an hour or so a night, that surely will help...poor Wii Fit Plus is missing me I bet..lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

all the sites are soooo quiet today, ssshhh, it's either a sunny & warm day in everyone's corner of the world and too nice to be inside or they are cuddled up in their favorite blankie watching movies..guess I'll get a movie on my computer and enjoy what's left of the afternoon...
