What have you ordered 2010 #7
sorry should have flipped that last one
I've been looking for a stand out red daylily for a bit and finally found it. I have several shades of reds already but this one was screaming at me!

So I found it cheaper and ordered it from a seller on the L.A. I got 5 HUGE FANS yesterday. I can't wait to see it bloom!!
My raspberries came yesterday and are in the ground. I got them from Schlabach's Nursery - an Amish business up near Lake Ontario between Buffalo and Rochester. They raise fruit trees and berry bushes and send out lovely stuff.
Looks like lots of goodies arriving and being ordered still. Nice to hear of new places for plants, DLs and fruits.
JM's coming today.
Seed potatos arrived! I'm going to try them in growing them in containers.
D-nut, im using $9.99 garbage cans from Wally world, let DH shoot some holes in the bottom for me and not im planting from seed too. What kind did you get?
Last year we had 'Catalina' and loved them but could not find them from seed this year. So we bought 'Zolushka' and another one that the name escapes me at the moment!
pixie I'm trying pacific russett and norland which are early and don't need so much room so I should be able to keep them from drying out. If I have success with these, next year I'm going to try banana fingerlings.
I've been eyeing those banana fingerlings too! Northlands are very good!
fancyvan from here grew the banana fingerlings and recommends them. She has a beautious big vegetable garden so trys lots of things.
That red DL blew me away, Pixie....the plants look good, Allison.
got my jm's today - they look great!
victor are you still waiting?
Yes - best are saved for last. Mine are coming by private, climate-controlled trucking. No mass-shipping for me.
here is my damage from Rutgers today

Jm's arrived a bit ago. The police escort was a bit much.
LOL
hee hee
nice colors!!
Vincent (VICTOR), just a quick question about jms: which would you recommend as being particularly winter hardy? I have a generic Bloodgood that looks like a tree - no nice oriental feel to it at all- and a A.j. dissectum that is more of the shrubby style and in a protected area, but I'd like to add at least one.

Kathleen i think you mean Victor:)
The choice of which jm depends on the conditions of where it will be planted - there are many to choose from. Victor and i each have over 50 jm's so we can give you some advice.
Garden looking good JoAnn. I think you will really like the hakonechloa. The only grass that doesn't look weedy to me. Stays nice all season and adds a nice bright spot in the shady garden. Love those color mixes.
Tomorrow I hope to start digging big holes now that the back is much improved, to be ready for clem shipment next week.
Right Pat!
No wonder I liked it. I also am suspitious of grasses that seed and I find them in places I dont want them.
joann your beds are looking good!
JoAnn I think I saw your next new camera

You are really bad. Now I have to check it out as I am more interested in panorama views of my gardens than closeups of individual flowers. I like them and take them.My macro isnt that fancy so long views is me.
it's all good!!!
yep
You'r goin-down Allison. Its a love but at nearly $400.00 its out of my budget

only because it's new.. have to wait a year or two.. then get it
Remind me.
yeah sure... LOL
Allison, I noticed you ordered Ramapo tomatoes...love them, but they're hard to find around here.
my dad loves them... he was so excited a few years ago when he read an article that Rutgers was putting seeds back on the market... they are the flavor he grew up with... I am not too fond of them though... I lean towards sweet rather than acidic ... I was growing some from seed... but I think I killed them... that's what I get for putting them in the basement when I potted them up.. forgot to water them.. I wanted to see what the difference was between the Rutgers & the Ramapo were... the Moreton is a hybrid Rutgers made also... all supposed to be the "Jersey Tomato" flavor
so I got one of each for me and dad... but around here you can spot Ramapos at HD once in a while.. guess the local growers put them out there
Yes, I meant Victor, shouldn't talk and type!
