Coming from here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1088337/
I still have some clems coming and some echinacea, as well as a couple late stragglers. So far everything has been nice and healthy. All I have to do is get them all in the ground, have about three quaters done so far. How are your orders and planting coming along?
What have you ordered 2010 #7
Planted a daylily from a trade. Too hot to do much else before today.
I have an order coming from Select Seeds, but since they're annuals, they'll come later....I hope! Yes, JoAnn, I've been busy.....stayed in the heat too long, had to get an iced latte to revive.
Jen or Weeze I wouldn't complain if you picked this up for me ... if you happen to go to rarefind again.. sure now they have it in stock

That is the EXACT one I wanted.
I will send you a check if you decide to go
:)
Nice.
I tried reading down through the last thread, but got too tired! LOL I was going to say that I hadn't ordered anything, but I sent a check a couple of days ago for some red and black raspberry plants. I have purchased several packs of pansies from local nurseries and have an order form made out for Select Seeds, but haven't got it sent yet. I bought the veggie seeds I needed at the local feed mill.
I do have a windfall of $65 to spend on garden goods. Hmm, what to buy, what to buy?
Should get my Deer Resistant order today. JM's tomorrow.
Have fun, Kathleen!
Brian & I went to Agway to get Pro-mix after his PT and he bought me Baptisia Twilite Prairieblues

Brian is a keeper Pixie!
Mine each have individual boxes, Bill. I have gps tags in each with temp/humidity recording in real time.
really???
^_^
I ordered a few tomato plants and pepper plants from Territorial Seeds. They arrived today in good shape. I also have some seeds that I started. Never having done them from seed before, I wanted to cover my bases, hence the plants from TS.
My mom and I both received a miniature rose bush today from my youngest son. They were boxed nicely. Anyone else have miniature roses? Any suggestions or success tips would be appreciated.
I have mini roses just treat them the same as regular roses, I don't do anything special with them.
Okey-dokey. They may not like it though. I don't do very well with roses. ^_^
hey Jan is your oak leaf hydrangea deer resistant.. I don't have it where it is in the line of fire .. yet... and how much sun or lack of can it live in?
My gosh the leaves on that Oak Leaf Hydrangea are HUGE, I have mine in AM sun and then dappled afternoon.
Allison, I do not know about our dear deer friends. Mine gets sun very early and then later in the afternoon. It has topped out at about 5-6'. Mine has lots of little suckers this year. Will give some to DILs. Need any more?
It is a NOID. I got it from the maintenance guys at my former job.

oh sure.. I will take more.. just hope the deer don't like them... they might get some afternoon sun.. I was thinking of putting it on my berm in the back.. tired of that spot looking ugly.. want something to cover it up.. figured your OL would be a nice start
Jan23 miniroses luv my zone. As flowerjen says just treat them the same. I don't prune them at all other then to cut off the tip kill in the spring (which you probably will never have in your zone) and they bloom all summer. I dig in some slow desolve fertilizer in the spring and that's it. TA DAA! LUV mini roses.
Bought a box of pansies & 2 dwarf dahlias today from local vender--they start their own plants. I have to clear a spot for the pansies where I see them as I go outdoors so that I remember to deadhead them. D-nut do you deadhead dahlias? lots of buds coming.
IrisMA the more you deadhead the more they flower. I do it every evening when I go on my walkabout in the garden. Pics please when they flower.
Victor, I got my Clems from Debbie today, WOW! Thank you for pointing me in the right direction, she was a great help and these are huge!!!
debbie is the best!
Great!! Which ones did you get?
Received the last stragglers from GC today. Hydrangea 'Invincible Spirit' and Blue Satin 'Marina' hibiscus. Both look good but the hydrangeas need to be planted very quickly as they are getting a bit leggy for the pots. My lower back still not in A-1 condition, but it is improved and I hope that it will be well enough to plant a few things tomorrow, I am falling behind. Need to get some holes dug for clems from Debbie that are arriving next week too.
I just received some more Invicible Spirit too. I am 'trialing' them.
'trialing them' for what victor?
Evaluation.
Evaluating them for ....? Hardiness, vigor, bloom period/amount, disease resistance? Inquiring minds need to know all the details ^_^
Yes.
I got 2 'Ken Donson' to go on either side of the arbor beside the pink rose's.

I also got my order from Polly at Siberian Iris Gardens! Holy cow, it felt like Christmas!! I got a mess of blue iris to plant!!!!!!!!!! ^_^
^_^
I did order some seeds today. More dwarf sea holly. I planted some last fall and don't see anything yet so I will plant more. Then, to make the shipping charge worthwhile, I ordered a bunch of columbine.
Lovely blue on that clem.
Weeder came today as I thought the handles is long, but I can move forward & back, not just back like a hoe. Was weeding above me to plant pansies (6). I think that it will work better when I am level with it. So 6 pansies & the 2 dwarf dahlias were planted, 'faces' pansies & red & white dahlias.
Busy getting plane tickets for AIS convention in WI & wedding present for a grand niece.
