Awesome Luna Moth Fruity!!
Shes about too... #49
Welcome back home, taters!
All that was left of her the next morning, Neener, were wings :( My side garden where the Columbines are growing are strewn with their wings almost every morning. Our birds must be having a field day.
Thank you, Faye. I've never fooled with my camera's bells and whistles. Just keep it on auto focus, dial in the lens, and press the shutter. I took several Petunia cuttings for you this morning and will bring them with me next month if I'm successful rooting them.
Debra, before the weed burner hubby ordered comes and he annihilates our driveway, I'll pick a bunch of Wild Morning Glory plants and send you a box full. They have Purple blooms.
I have a quart size bag of mixed-colored dwarf Marigold seeds I gathered last Summer, and this morning I snipped dried seed pods off the Wild Yellow and Winky Series Red Columbines. Would any of you like to try these?

I love your photos , susan. Geesh! Raining all day here, real gully washers. I would love any seeds you can get, most mgs don't do well if u dig them up, and it would be kinda heavy to dig them up with the soil, so no worrys.. I know you will get a few back so u can get seeds. I am interested in those columbines, my hubby just loves them. What the heck is that a black widow? I havn't seen one of those in years!
I have never ever seen a luna moth. That is awsome. I planted some gazania seeds, they are covered up in the nursery out back, like the directions said. I used to spend lots of money on annuals, now just grwo from seeds or cuttings. I get tempted tho, like these..varigated impatiens around a mess of fancy type zinnias ( don't ask I can't member)
The guy who owns one of our local nurseries is so good to me. He always sneaks in a cutting or two or an extra pot of flowers. Since he loads my car and I'm still wandering around, I never know what he's added til I get home. This time it was one of those weird Petunias and Lobularia "Snow Princess" trailing with dainty white blooms in baskets 2 and 3. I'm awfully tempted to buy annuals too, hubby loves them so much, but my style is to grow them from seeds if I can. I'll mail you both kinds of Columbines seeds and also the Purple Winky Series that should be finished drying in a week.
In the meantime, here's "Minnie Pearl" Phlox.
FOTV
Do you have any those seeds left? I would love some if you do.
Marti
Morning everyone! Yep, that is a black widow! She and the egg sack are a squished, as flat as I can squish! She was under the edge of a piece of cardboard, that had blown over on top of some of my pots while I was gone. I went to pick it up, and there she was, just inches from my fingers! Well, after I changed my pants, I grabbed the wasp spray and hosed her down, then I grabbed the garden trowel, and just kept squishing! I sprayed all around the other pots as well.
Susan, love the hanging baskets. They are so pretty.
BRAVE GIRL!!!!! I would of been still running away from it. Things that have 8 legs and make webs turn on my flight switch and I'm GONE!!!!! And God help anyone in my path!!!!
Aww Marti LOL.. I use them for insect eating here.. just don't have widows, have everything else tho.. ;P
forgot to tell you yes to the wild mg seeds from kentucky! WOW!
Beautiful pictures, love the pots FOTV I would say you have a nack for that. I don't at all but bought a book based on this website and I am going to try to do it with ordinary pots. Oh yeah forgive me if I have already posted this, I can't keep up on what I have or haven't done..... I love that silver stuff hanging in one of your pots, I am going to have to raise that from seed one day cause I want a whole pot full and it is just too expensive. I love it hanging down. Question tho in the magazines it is always perfectly hanging, does it tangle up in the wind, cause it is really windy where I live.

Debra, isn't this weather something! Got home last night and DH was mowing with his winter coat on! I went out to dig up some more plants for the sale and about froze, cold and wet, started raining about an hour after I got home.....rained all night and raining again this morning. Promise of good weather on the horizon. There is always hope... I have had my tropicals in so long now I am going to have to harden them off. The solar room doesn't get any solar this time of the year. May need to move the house....LOL I work for a big crane company so I should get some bennies ...LOL
Linda Kay, you watch out for what is hiding under stuff.....always scares the stuffing out of you. A small landscape timber slid the other day and when I raised it up there was the tinest little ring neck snake all curled up. It is/was so cold here he just couldn't move. Don't tell DH but I left him alone. He eats slugs and stuff. Love when they give a description of a snake, they talk about his eyes and the color of his belly.....well don't know about anyone else, but I am not going to look him in the eyes and I am not rolling him over to scratch his belly! Give me a good big detail picture of him like I am going to see him in the garden, before his demise.
Debra, I'll watch the plants and when they go to seed I will get some for you. I'm excited to see what color they are. Will keep you informed.
Got a surprise this morning. Was in the back of the property looking at all the weeds including pokeweed I need to get busy and cut out and I found a sassafras tree growing up back there and an oak tree. Got to get them moved to a safe area, not in the middle of my veggie card area.
Thanks y'all. I do love putting containers together and mixing it up. happ, on the reverse side of the tag for Silver Falls it says it only gets 6" long but some of mine is already longer. We'll see if it gets whipped around and tangled up, it's windy here too. I haven't grown it before and was a full-sun heat-tolerant plant new this year at one of the greenhouses. Paid $2.59 for a 4" pot and tore the plant in two. Sorta parted its hair down the middle...lol Now that is one wowser container! Guess our veggies will be in containers this year since we're not having a full-size garden.
Gotcha, Marti. Here's what the red Winky looked like last month.
That is sooooo cute!!!! I just love it.
Ok, I am going to repeat myself, I have scrolled thru this whole discussion looking for what I thought was a conversation on label makers....but I can't find it. Whom ever it was will you tell me the brand of the label maker and the name of the labels. I see some that say super adhesive....is that necessary in your opinion?
While I was scrolling back I noticed several questions that were asked of me that I must of zoned out on, cause I saw no response from me, please don't take it personally I must of just missed them.....sometimes I just pop in and have to get out and don’t get to read, then when I pop back in they aren't considered new any longer....hazards of playing on the internet.
This is the pic on proven winners site. Would love to have that cascading down the sides of one of my ee's.

New room ladies, come on over!
Gotta sneak this in and will come on over to the new room.
happ, go way back up there to my post on April 29th about the P-touch labeler I use. There's a pic of it and a tape cartridge.
My Silver Falls is a Proven Winners, think that must have been a typo 1-6" and should have been 1-6' LOL
