Hopefully this will be the last thread we need to discuss any system issues in the aftermath of migrating to new servers. (Hey, a girl can hope, right?)
Anyway, we know there are still reports of intermittent slowdowns - the more detail you can provide, the better (what time, what exact location, what you were doing when you encountered a delay or timeout message) is very helpful.
System issues (Part II)
Hi there
i didn't know that you were changing servers.
But when i did not receive my weekly newsletter I decided to go to your website anyway.
I'm located in southern Ontario, Canada.
Sabine
Here's the link to this week's newsletter: http://davesgarden.com/weekly.php?news=2010-03-15
(I didn't get one either)
Please add me to the list of newsletter no-shows. Thanks
I just had another incident of text spilling outside of the borders, but on a different thread this time: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1074596/#new
Please add me, also, to the newsletter no-show. Thanks!
Deb

Kywoods, that is odd and I haven't heard any other reports of it. (I did copy your screenshot in a ticket to the tech team, though - thank you!) Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon?
All, please keep the newsletter no-show reports coming; I'm accumulating a list to send to the tech team.
Thanks for the new thread. I had stopped watching the other one about 50 messages earlier, but was gonna post and ask someone to let me know if anything really important happened.
Re newsletter, I can't rightly say whether I got it this week or not. I THINK I did.
no newsletter for me either
I'm with ViolaAnn...don't remember if I read then deleted it, or just didn't receive it...will pay more attention next week. Swiss cheese memory, lol.
Once again, for about the nth time today, it was difficult to access DG or a part of it. This time all I was trying to do was to refresh the site by clicking on the "Home" tab. It just sat there and did NOTHING.
The times being shown are all out of whack. For example, faeden, being in CA, is actually 15 hours behind Western Australia, but the posting is showing as being an hour ahead. My local time, which hasn't changed due daylight savings or anything, is showing an hour ahead of what it is.
It's odd that problems seem to be geographical and all over the place.
I'm in New Mexico and have had no problems at all for many days
so no complaints. I'm on Mountain Daylight Time and it seems to
be correct in my posts but shows as standard time in the upper right-hand
corner of the top menu.
Oops, no -- the time on my post is also showing Mtn. Standard
Time, not Mtn. Daylight Time.
Time here has been correct so far.
Posted to this thread http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1078582/ but took a long time to send. Very SLOOOOOWWWWW.
As I mentioned yesterday, DG time is out of sinc with Pacific Daylight time. I am posting this at 6:19 pm PDT and according to DG it is an hour later, 7:19 pm.
In the past I depended on the DG clock for setting all of my clocks. Do I need to make another plan or will this get fixed? I'm not in a hurry but I would like to make sure it is on the tech folks' radar. Thanks.
DG time isn't out of sync with PDT on my computer. It shows your post as being sent at 6:20pm. It's a pain when there are these kinds of discrepancies - makes it more difficult to find the problem.
another Newsletter no-show
My post shows 7:20 pm (under my name); faeden's post at 7:23 pm and broots' post at 7:39 pm!!
Tabs just disappeared, replaced with little re d x's. seem to work as long as I remember where they were.
10:03 Every thing back up now, just a momentary glitch.

They're working on it gang...we're getting several different issues, depending on the browser.
I'm using IE.
Timed out... system error. I could access other sites but not DG within the past 1/2 hour. Anyone else?
Not me. But I did respond to a post, and when I sent it it didn't go through. I had to rewrite the post because it was lost - the message was "web page expired".
Me too. I couldn't even get on the site for the last half hour. It said SQL error 0
At least that's what I think it said.
The system went down around 9:20 CDT (or thereabouts) but they had it back up within a few minutes...keep us posted on any anomalies.
My time above is NOT correct and I DID update it to EDT. The time of my post above shows about an hour after I made it.
Yeah - an hour out. I'll check my settings again, but I DID change them.
Just checked them and they are on EDT which is shortly after 11 pm, but 12 am.

Your time zone is something you can change yourself. It's always been a little dodgy when the clocks go back and forth - the majority of people are okay, but a few end up with their time being "off" - if you need help changing it, let me know and I'll walk you through it ;o)
Now this gets interesting. Although my time is correct for me, because ViolaAnn edited her post it shows exactly what time it was for HER. She and I should be 3 hours apart; however, according to PDT here she posted at 8:05pm (11:05pm EDT). But the last sentence says, "This message was edited March 18, 2010 at 12:06 AM." So while she's an hour off, I think my time is OK.
I'm going to post this and then go back in and edit it and see what the system message says on MY post.
OK, here's my edit. Let's see what happens.
My times matched! So what's up with that? ViolaAnn's DEFINITELY an hour off but I'm not.

That's weird. The time on your post shows as March 18, 2010 12:15 AM for me and your edit time says - This message was edited Mar 17, 2010 8:15 PM.

Oh, BTW, I just put up the Coffee daily for tomorrow (on Parking Lot) and the first time I tried to follow my link to the new thread, I got a whole page of gibberish at the top where the banner should have been. The second time it worked just fine. Go figure!
Thought I'd post and say I've had very few problems here, at least for me, in the eastern MA area. Did experience the down time and hour or so ago, seemed to last about 20+ minutes. Occasionally still experience some slow, or no picture loading, but getting less frequent.
I also had problems getting on the site a while ago. I also got the SQL error 0 message. I thought it was my connection until I tried another site. Other sites worked fine.
No Newsletter here either.
Other than that, don't see any difference.
Another newsletter no show here. Also, I just posted a picture and this was the slowest picture posting on my laptop here that I have ever experienced.

Was this the photo? http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=7638366
no nrewletter
A minor "glitch" I just noticed ... nothing really important but thought I'd mention it.
I clicked on My Info, clicked on "View the Threads You Are Watching" and deleted a couple of threads, then clicked on "Back to your Thread Watcher" but instead of taking me back to the page showing me the threads I'm watching, it returns me to my Home Page.
