Gypsies move toward Spring

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I have heard that works for the sciatic nerve, Flowers, but have no first hand knowledge thank goodness.

I had that cold laser on my carpal tunnel in my hands, worked for one, not the other.
And Steve has had it on his back and he said it helped a little but then he was really out of whack took almost two months to get him to walk right.
Took over six months to convince him to go to chiropractor and then only because it was one of my friends son in law and she said she would pay for it if it didn't help. LOL

Pretty Roses....both of them.....grin. Hiya Jim. Hope y'all are well.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Aww nice Jim.
How have you been?
Got that garden planted??

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Ditto what Moon said, Jim. We were just talking about corn bread & corn pones on cubits. Your ears must have been ringing, you were in on that conversation.

JJ, did the chiropractor help Steve?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hi Smiley, Hi JJ

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Hi Moon.

Yes he did Smiley it took a while but he finally got better.
He not only had his back out he had his pelvis out of wack too....and before you ask NO I didn't do it..LOL

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Hi Moon! I wholeheartedly endorse chiropractors. It's like a bad paint job, you never notice a bad paint job until you see a good one.

You never notice you're out of whack until you get adjusted. Then it's like "wow! I can't believe I lived with that for so long". I can tell immediately if I get out of alignment. I don't always go right away, but mine cost $40 a pop and doesn't take insurance.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

LOL.....$40 a "POP"......sorry Smiley....just struck me as funny.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

hah! hah! Yes, literally! I sure popped yesterday, I went after DD, since no one else was there. I told him I needed a tune up.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Jim, that is a gorgeous HUGE rose!!! And a pretty little one!

Sounds like Miss Jo is keeping ya hopping Jim. Looks great. By the way...saw a post from Chezca....she is back and was looking for Slug thread folks....post is in Beg gardener forum....ya'll might wanna say hi.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Hey Jim ole pal, we sure miss you on here,; I've been good but the rest of them need a talking to.:-) Those raised beds look great and the potatoes are gonna taste mighty fine this winter. Is that Jo in the Rose picture? She is pretty.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Wow 157 daylilies and all those veggies too.
You have been a very busy boy.
Good to hear from you.

Delhi, LA

That was my Jo in the picture. She is camera shy and it is hard to get her picture. I told her I wanted a contrast to show how big the rose was. If she had know I was going to post it here and on facebook I'd never have got it.

You know how spring is if you are a gardener, a lot of catching up to do. The raised beds are easy to tend after the initial work of getting them ready and getting them planted. The maintenance is really not much to it. I have everything planted and up except for cantalope and okra. Just planted that.

A good gardening friend from NY sent me the DL's. She was separating hers and sent me a bunch. Don't have a clue as to colors but if you could see her yard you'd know they are going to be pretty. She also breeds her own DL's and most of these are the ones she has bred. Might get some really unique ones.

Chezca saw a post I made and dmailed me. I am so glad. I had wondered about her.

The rain we got yesterday really perked things up.

The roses look great Jim. Good Morning folks. Lynnie that phlox looks so happy there.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Jim, you sure have a lot of blooms on that pretty knock out!!

Lynnie, I really like your 'happy' creeping phlox.

(Zone 5b)

thnaks, I have 13 (oooh unlucky number) of them along the stone walls, need a few more!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Hi!

I am trying to decide what plants inside I can put outside. Nothing will go in the ground I guess because everything will need to be brought back inside in the fall.

The Wood Sorel, False Shamrock,Oxalis triangularis will need to be repotted in the next month or so. It is in the dormant stage now. Should the points on the bulbs point up or down??? I always forget!

I have 6 Kalanchoes of 3 different colors. Should they stay in their 6" pots? Or put them together in one large pot? Yesterday I saw a plant that must have been at least 18" tall at Kroger’s. Is that a different variety or will mine ever get that big?

My wandering Jew looks very pathetic, only 4 very thin stems about 8" long with a few small leaves. Every time I root a cutting off a stem, I end up damaging more of the plant. Should I repot it later or leave it in the same pot?

The angel wing begonia has 4 leaves and the other 2 have withered down to only roots. I guess that will all go into one pot. I saw one on Dave's garden that was 6 feet tall!!!!!

All of the rest of my plants are tropicals or houseplants. My hibiscus has lost nearly half its leaves now. I cut a few inches off 2 of the stems and hoped that would cause it to branch more. Wrong! Now there are only kinks in the stems!

I still have gnats and there some swarms of gnats outside. Even though we have a large pond here, I have never noticed bugs before, only an occasional mosquito. Maybe they will spray soon.

Hope some of you have sun and are having a very nice day.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

You can certainly move the oxalis and tradescantia outside. The oxalis is hardy to zone 6 and you are more than likely not going to get any more freezes. You can put some or all of it in the ground, and just lift it into pots at the first frost. Venice, as long as your night time temps are above 40 degrees, you should be able to start moving most of your stuff out. It is the frost and subsequent freezes that do the damage, not a little cool night temp.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Moon, it is suppose to be low of 38 on Tuesday! Rain today, tomorrow, Tuesday partly cloudy, then SUN on Wednesday!

I will wait a few days to put the oxalis out. I assume then I can put out the Kalanchoes, angel wing begonia, vinca, and sweet potato vines.

It will be good to get some of these out of here!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

After the novelty wears off it is time for spring and plants to go out to play.....grin

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I would go nuts with all those plants in my house......
