Betty - Yes, we're moving. The City has decided, in it's great wisdom, to close the trailer park we live in (183 trailers). It's quite the community, more than a park.
We can have a house in a minute, and we have people who will help us move (quite the luxury, considering the times I've had no one to help... before I met Bob). I lost track at 40 personal moves...... my ex liked moving. Guess it was because he's a truck driver and is always on the go....... I HATE moving, but this time will make twice I've moved into a house of our own since I've been with Bob ^_^

Susan, Roger managed Wildwood Park in Port Severn at the time of his death, worked with me and did the park..over 500 sites, rivers running through it, he loved the interaction with residents, was seasonal though..some came for snowmobiling and skiing but off season they were only allowed to spend no more than 5 consecutive days in a month, guess they were trying to avoic people staying year round..each owned their own lots though, managed by a council..I've loads of friends still there, many spend 1/2 yr. in Florida and 1/2 yr. in Port Severn...big community center, spent many a day there teaching...sooo can just imagine how sad it will be for you to have to move...so what happens, do the trailers get sold independently or do they give you $$$ towards relocation...

Want to call home but I'm sure those girls won't answer lol..already called with an excuse 4 times...I SOOO want to be home!!!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm so glad I was able to get back here.. I was worried Betty - sorry if I sounded a false alarm.
Sounds like things were really hopping with you yesterday. And I sure do know this feeling you have today. I dreamed of retiring for months before I actually gave my notice.
Each day the pull gets stronger and stronger.
I've been busy today paying bills and trying to get all the postings of a mystery quilt copied into Word. It's the one we did last Nov. A friend asked for it so I'm trying to get it right for her. This was from Mojoquilter. She has started another one too that I'm trying to keep up with as well. Some days there just isn't enough time!!!
Waving hello to everyone ~~~ back to the grindstone!!!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - they will charge, whoever stays with the park, relocation charge - up to $10k I hear. The city will give a subsity towards it. I've heard some parks give $800 total...
I'm not sad about leaving the park, really I'm not. I'm annoyed that the promise of doing a "buy-out" was spoken and there's nothing in writing.
They make us move, we pay for it, and won't buy-out. I only hope the new owners of our trailer will look at the positiive..... 1. they may be retired and not care that the park is on the edge of the city 2. it's a young couple who have a stay-at-home mom and only 1 person has to worry about distance to work. 3. it's an interim place to live while they save $$ for a plot of land where the city will move the trailer to while they build a house.

The city has said they would move the trailer to wherever it's wanted (the land the city has designated, or your choice of property).

I hope this is a positive for someone who wants to buy.

Is it time to go yet???? lol..

Barb, I retired at 53 when Omers (Ontario Municipal Employee Retirement) was giving early retirement..with my age and years of service it worked out that I could take it in their open window which was for 6 months only, wasn't sorry I did so..

then of course when Paul BIL asked me to come work (rather rest and play) and offered good $$$ I said yes, would give me the opportunity to fix everything in the house before I'd retire again..almost there..but then you get to enjoy just splurging all the time, getting what you want, doing things for friends, travelling and think for the little bit of work why not..guess it's with winter and being sunshine out there I want to be home..that too shall pass...as for Mojo's project, I read the thread but didn't quite understand the process

Didn't go for lunch today, was busy finishing the last of my afghan squares and watching a movie, lordy it was hard not laughing out loud...

Susan, do you already have a place to live? Sounds as long as you are with Bob it doesn't matter where you end up...how wonderful for you!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

We don't have a place to live.
Yes, Betty - as long as I'm with Bob, I have a place in his heart, and that's the best place to be.....
and it goes without saying that he always has a place in my heart ^_^

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Betty-I'll say it again-where can I get a job like yours??LOL I think it's good to get out of the house-makes you appreciate being there and doing all your cool projects just a little more....

Victoria Harbour, ON

How blessed you are Susan, you have to have a place to move to though, any ideas where you will look?

Stacey, you'll not continue looking for employment now that you are expecting will you? Well if anyone knows all the projects I have waiting for me in my craft room it's you..so enjoyed our craft weekend! you'll have to make another visit bringing Janice with you so you can bring them home with you finished or unfinished...

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yes, we know the area we want, but will need to sell this one first.

Just heard from Rev Cda today. They're like a broken record. We'd straightened out (we thought) a $$$$ issue with them, and yesterday yet another new person called to lambaste my DH. He hung up on her.
Today I got a call from someone we've been dealing with to straighten out the mess from 6 yrs ago. Although I understand the mess, and the person I spoke to was matching me for being reasonable, we have to send in repeats of the documentation, etc. He was talking about proof of child support, etc etc etc.
I'm afraid I got emotional on the phone and started to cry. Sometimes things come in 3's and sometimes in 6's...... I feel "at 6's and 7's" right now......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hugs to you Susan, they aren't the best people to reason with..you have no idea just how many people who come for help that try to deal with them through an error and end up after they add interest upon interest upon interest do a bankruptcy to rid themselves of the debt...

Some of their agents take the easy way out and recommend to individuals that they do so, that just goes to show you even they get tired of dealing with the red tape...

Came home, had my bath, put on my jammies and remembered it's t.v. bingo night, still trying to win that $2,500 jackpot so will look for a long coat to hide my jammies and walk over and get my cards..lol..watch me meet half the town that I know...

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Betty-I have a job working PT at Michael's-the craft store. It's kinda hard right now with the nausea and the amount of perfume the women that come in there seem to wear and the fact that I don't have a chance to eat at regular intervals. I might have to come see you to get what I would really like for a baby thing......thought of something, but would be terribly expensive to ship, so I am now back to thinking.....

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All;

Stacey - that sounds like a job for Betty - at Michaels! LOL...except she'd spend her whole check after work... We have a Michaels here in Baton Rouge....

Susan - Big (((HUGS))) for you. I adore you and how cheerful you always are and yet with such big obstacles ahead...and almost teared up hearing you talk about home and DH. Makes me want to put aside those little day to day grievances with my DH and give him an extra hug today. Yes - I think I'll do that !

Crissy - I would LOVE to cut my hibiscus back....you're probably right....I could probably do that now. I searched all over DG for the "Cuttin' back hibbies" thread but couldn't find it. Seems like it was a holiday when I did it on last year... Good Friday I suppose...Valentines is what is in my head but would have been too early. I cut back our Elephant Ears a few weejs ago... it was gooey/icky! :) This is the first time I've ever seen them freeze back.

Betty - I'll try to get a picture of the yard...but it's so depressing....maybe would be good to do anyway though.....then I can do a "before" and "after" later....
DH & I keep telling each other little jokes about the yard....he told me this morning that the tomatoes were already a foot tall. Tonight I asked him if he would go pick a tomato for my sandwich... LOL! (As If )

Will pop back on later tonight...

Hugs,
Mary

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNMARIE!!!!! Sorry it took me all day to say it! I hope you had a wonderful day!!!

LOL Ya'll! Not in the whole office, the attorneys and other staff are there, just in my IT department, there's only 4 of us, the other girl's son had major surgery done today, my boss is out til Friday doing something but don't remember what, I know it's not gardening, and the programmer is out with the stomach flu.

I have my EE in pots sitting outside, it's not getting below 40* now, so I hope they'll be alright, it's still to early for them but they didn't go dormant in the garage, and I want my garage back! LOL

Dave's in a real bad mood, or some kind of mood, and I thought I was the one PMSing! I'm looking for new tires for my darn all wheel drive crossover and it's turning into being the biggest pain! We can't afford them first of all, so I got a quote on some Cooper tires today at $151.00 each, haven't made a decision, haven't gone in to look as I'm not sure of Cooper tires, he accused me of falling for someone's stupid trick, being talked into things too fast and just went off. I told him I hadn't done anything and to shut up, I just wanted to tell him. He went off again about how I sit in front of a computer for 50 hours a day and never research anything, unbeknown to him I have been researching this for 3 days straight now. I try to tell him that, he just goes off in this screaming rampage again. What's funny is I never did get mad or yell, I just wanted to eat my dinner! Got him calmed down a bit later and he started in again about how I'm spending too much money and how we have way too many bills... now I just paid 3 bills today; water, car/home insurance, and cell phones. We have 5 more bills due at the end of the month; gas/electricity, dish tv, satellite internet, truck payment, and student loan. Keep in mind we live out in the woods so we don't get cable/dsl. Those are all the bills we have! I'd say we're very blessed to not have credit cards or medical bills, and to complain about it?????? I'm sorry, I have a problem with that. I paid off everything I could when he was working all of that overtime, I don't know what else I can cut. I'm just trying to stay away from him, seems every time I open my mouth he thinks I'm insulting him in some sort of fashion. I'm really getting tired of his mood swings, I will say that.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thanks Betty, and Mary - it cheers me up when I hear the things you say.
Betty - we did go bankrupt in '04, and got discharged before we moved here (had to, in order to sell the house when we moved here). We went bankrupt because of an error, and the fact that the tax preparer split up with her hubby and he threw out all her papers (including originals of our paperwork!). Next thing you know, Rev Cda is sending us huge statements, and we had nothing to back us up.
And somehow, as you said, they said we owed from 2003 (and it was supposedly wiped off the books upon bankruptcy). We've gotten letters saying we owe $340 (hey, we can handle that!!) and others saying we owe $15,000!! (no, can't do that) and today we were told, with interest, that it's over $16,000!!!! (Yikes - someone get and talk to others, so we know what's going on?!?!?!). Bob's refusing to pay until they prove they aren't trying to get payment for pre-bankruptcy. He's afraid that if he starts paying that they'll say that it's agreement that he owes the whole amount.

Before you think he's not paying them anything, he is. He pays the current year's taxes, but not the previous amount!

Susan

Mary, I think you should be fine to cut your Hibiscus back now.
We did ours today, along with the crepe myrtle and gardenias...got to do some fruit trees soon, as they are actually starting to bud!! we thought for sure we had lost a few this go 'round it got so cold...a few of the orange trees have almost no leaves, butt we looked at them today and they getting buds.

and the pear tree opened up a whole bunch of blossoms today ^_^

Thank you Crissy :o) I had a great day. I think I'm finally starting to get over this bug I caught, and I'm starting to catch up on my to-do- list. Yay! As for Dave, sounds just like my DH gets when he is in fear. I guess its a 'man thing' but when my hubby does that I just ignore him and eventually he calms down again. He doesnt apologize, and I forgive and forget pretty easy LOL. Its the times that I dont ignore him that we wind up in a huge argument :(

Well, my son didnt pull weeds on Sunday, we had some rain here, so he's waiting for a dry day. I still dont think he knows what all he volunteered for LOL!

Tubby, I hope you're sleeping well! I bet you cant wait to get out and garden again!

Betty, I know what you mean about retiring or wanting to be at home, I always felt that way when I was working. Now that I dont work....it gets boring here! LOL! And I dont get as much done because there is "always tomorrow" haha. I thought I would have plenty of time to do lots of crafts and painting oh and the quilts.... I just keep putting them off. But when your working, well you seem to cherish your 'off time' and as much as you can get accomplished done! LOL! I think if I pretend I'm working a full time job on the web sites, maybe I can quit at 5pm and then spend the evening crafting :o)

Thunder, so nice to see buds starting! reminds me that spring is almost here. I have buds on my wisteria, a few daffs came up, but everything else is still dormant :( Is your crepe myrtle a tree or a bush? I've seen both tagged as crepe myrtle at the HD here. I have always liked them

Well best for today: Lobster, fried shrimp, garlic sauteed shrimp and snow crab legs!! worst for today: another year older :(

g'nite all!

Ohhh AnnMarie, sorry I missed your birthday..lordy, must mark the birthday thread as 'watch'...glad you enjoyed your day but most glad you are getting better after having the 'flu' - wow sure can drag on! So your son got a reprieve, lol..anxious to hear how he makes out..

Thunder, love the photo, nothing nicer than to see new growth! Last night I put a few things in the back shed, here and there are bare patches, was going to move some of the cover leaves to look at even a wee bit of green but thought better of it..we sure are getting antsy, not only is there a flu bug going around but a gardening bug as well.

Crissy, you just CAN'T be driving to work with bad tires, surely he understands that..reverse the method of though, (it's a man thing - plug your ears Tubby lol) tell him perhaps he's right, you don't always know when you are being taken advantage of or know how to negotitate, he's much better at that and would he help you out to find the best deal in town???? that puts it in his court...

Stacey how wonderful for you, you are an excellent person to be working in Michael's..what an asset to them you are..your nausea will soon pass and it will be easier for you to work ..
ok can't keep it to yourself after that comment, what did you have in mind? I also had something in mind, maybe great minds thing alike...come on tell Auntie Betty..

Debbie, thinking of you this morning, how's Paul doing and you Mrs. Nurse, caring for everyone..are you taking care of yourself?

Susan, sending hugs and prayers..do hope you get some answers..is there a main office you can book an appt. with to discuss the issues? it's got to play heavily on Bob and your mind having someone say you owe that much and NOT!

It's early morning here, been up since 4:30am..Sailor wanted out, opened to door, she went out on back deck, there were 2 kitties sleeping on the rocking chair and side chair, cozy out of the wind I guess and then all I could smell was 'skunk' so I called Sailor back in, she'll have to wait or not to do her business, easier for me to clean a mess than have to worry about her being sprayed and once daylight comes then it will be ok to let her out.

Imagine, I'm here working on my March quilt block, was up long enough to completely wake up so might as well be productive..

Haven't heard from Rita about going state side this weekend, I'll call tonight..will be fun going but I keep thinking it's March break and don't want to spend 5 hrs. at the border ... if she seems like she has the same concerns then we'll put it off for another week.

Tubby, you sleeping?
Still anxious to hear how Scotty and Bev are doing?

Well coffee calls
Gab later

Tubby that's not good..you'll never gain strength not sleeping...are there no medication that you can take that will help you sleep? am sure you've if there were you'd be taking them right?

How dreadful, nights must be terribly long for you..do you read to help pass the time, t.v.? so many questions...sending hugs and prayers dear 'Tubby'

All but a 4 1/2" square is done for my March quilt block, I'll finish it tonight..has to be done to post by Saturday..

Can't believe I've been such a good girl..haven't touched the accuquilt, made myself a promise that until the bags, the quilt block and the afghan was done I couldn't play...

I've got the quilt blocks I'm doing in the 'sew and quilt' method done all at same time sitting on the table, all organized but I didn't include that in my 'must finish before playing' promise..lol

Going to look for boxes tonight and wrap the 3 afghans I have done and store for Christmas...organizing wool to take to work to start another (great to fill in the day while watching movies-lol)

I gave 2 at Christmas, did a pink one for my bedroom and here are the 3 that need packing tonight..thought I'd take a photo before wrapping!

Betty, as far as the Birthdays go, go to the homepage, then scroll down. On the right side they always list the daily Birthday's.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Annmarie that's exactly what I did, stayed away from him when I could and just shook my head. I don't understand what the deal is, it's like he wanted to compete and prove that I was wrong, no matter what I said. He was even contradicting himself to prove me wrong. I really don't care. And Ms. Cheerful, I came in this morning and went to get a cup of coffee, she comes in a half hour before I do and always makes coffee as she drinks it. I saw the coffee pot with just drops in it, exactly like it was last night, and the coffee grounds were wet and in this blob, so I dumped the coffee grounds, rinsed out the pot and went to start a new one. The coffee maker was full of water, so then I thought that she started to make the coffee and got interrupted, so went to get a filter and no filters left. So I looked around for a bit, she's sitting at her computer typing away on a personal email not paying any attention to me, so I asked her if we are out of filters, she got this blank look on her face and said that she thought there was another box. Anyway, we both were looking around for another box of filters for a good 10 minutes and she suddenly looked up like the light came on, and said, "Well Christine you should have asked! I started the pot of coffee but right when it started dripping I turned it off to make my oatmeal and never turned it back on! I don't know why you didn't ask, you should have asked, the coffee filter box is in the garbage too, you should have seen it under the coffee can in the garbage!" OMG you've got to be kidding, right????? Like I look in the garbage every morning! So we have no filters so I'm going downstairs to get some coffee here in a minute.

Betty the tires will last a little while, it's not that urgent, I'm a mechanics daughter and watch things like that all the time. The rear passenger tire is almost bald in the middle, but the other three have about 5,000 miles left on them. It doesn't matter what Dave thinks, I have my car here at work and he won't do it anyway, if he won't take care of his money coming from unemployment he won't take care of my tires, and I don't want him to because, coming from the mechanics background, he's not correct at all but I can't tell him that or we'll be arguing til dooms day and I don't care that much. I'm still the only person here in my IT department so I can't take the time to get the tires done anyway, we have to have at least one person here.

Barefoot... Can you tell me the "trick" to cutting Hibbies? Like...you find a "green part" and cut right after the last nodule...or something like that.... I read up on this last year...but couldn't find the thread this year....

Crissy - (shaking my head over Mrs. Cheerful) you have a LOT on your plate right now... a BIG HUG for you... Agree with Betty - some time off... or some time away is warranted if it's possible...

Morning, brrrrr it's chilly outside but calling for weather in the 40's today, for us at this time of year it's almost a heat wave..lol..

Paul was in a great humor yesterday, I was talking about crossing Buffalo border and the spring break traffic, he said 'why don't you take Friday off' hmmmm, tried to play it cool and said 'no it's ok' then about 5 minutes later I said 'might take you up on having Friday off' lol so Rita is calling tonight, my thoughts are to leave extra early tomorrow morning, spend the night, shop all day and come on late Sat.
Not sure if my early is the same as Rita's early..lol..

Just going over for 2 days but Darlene,June and Pat called with things to look for, too cute, I can be a professional shopper! that's ok, good portion of it is at Joann's Fabrics..

Can't gab long, have to a few swaps to wrap, quilt block to pkg. find Jeannine's pkg I thought I had mailed, now where did I put it..get some wool together to keep me occupied as I'm making a 9 block crochet quilt pattern afghan, try to get to bank to exchange $$$ and all before work...

Oh cool Tubby!!

Tornadoes tornadoes tornadoes last night, we got lucky at the house and I left work 30 minutes early to avoid driving in it, and it's a good thing I did, I would have driven right through a severe thunderstorm with golf ball size hail. I pass!!!

Don't worry ya'll, my dad and his girlfriend are coming down on the 24th and leaving on the 28th and I'm taking those three weekdays off that he's going to be here. Gotta love it, no matter who did what or who has what or is doing what, she can either equal it or go beyond it, and she does it to everyone. I was showing an old pic of my dad's '56 Chevy and turns out she owned a brand new one, but she wasn't born until 1958, had a tornado warning last night that lifted right before it got to the house, then dropped down and tore up a bunch of houses and stuff right after it got past us, she was in 3 tornado warnings and peeps, I was watching the radar like a hawk long after the danger passed us and I know exactly where she lives on the map and she was never in a tornado warning, they never got close to her. She was in a severe thunderstorm warning but not a tornado warning. I've decided since she's been sick most of the winter I'm going to lay off the voodoo doll for a bit.

Dave was so glad I left work early, when he heard the garage door he was occupying himself and keeping his mind off of it by hanging pics in the spare bedroom and getting it ready for my dad and Yvette.

Mary I just laugh behind his back and continue what I had planned to do in the first place. I used to go somewhere to rant but find it more fun to laugh. Dave got his 60 day notice in December so that's when all this drama started. He was fine last night, had pizza for dinner, after my nerves calmed down enough for me to eat LOL

YAY Tubby! I need to check my seedlings in my wanna be tabletop Jiffy greenhouse. I've forgotten about them. I also need to finish making my spring wreath, apparently by the weather last night spring has sprung!

I have this little head cold and it's set itself in my ears. The left one is plugged up and it sounds like I just got out of a loud concert, and the right one is basing really bad, I can hear the air conditioner running... bbbbbbbbbbbbb. It's driving me nuts! I'll take decongestants at home over the weekend but if it's still like this on Monday I'm going to have to make a dr appt. This is quite annoying...

Oh! I guess someone got coffee filters!!! I might go look at tornado damage at lunch, there's some on the west side of Little Rock.
