We're back up ! (?) - system issues here, please

Albuquerque, NM(Zone 7a)

I join KyWoods in saying Thanks for handling the massive data migration
in such an efficient way and for your prompt responses to the issues.

Many folks don't realize what a huge undertaking this is and hopefully we
will continue to be a little patient with slowness and with getting fixes in
place.

Thanks, again.

Marlton, NJ

Ditto to what June said.

At the moment things seem to be moving a little quicker.

Gilroy (Sunset Z14), CA(Zone 9a)

Cameras & Photography seems to be working normally now.
The support team has done an absolutely awesome job with this!!

mid central, FL(Zone 9a)

thank you from me!!!!!!!!!!

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Been away most of the day. Seems to be working a bit better now. I just wonder about that issue of not being able to right-click on links while a picture is being sent. It's not a major problem as long as I remember to open two windows to start with. But if I'm uploading a bunch of pics I like to work off two windows and I often open the second one while the first image is uploading.

Marlton, NJ

Was a little slow when I first arrived this time but it seems to be picking up. :-)

Is this a new problem since migration took place yesterday?

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Yes. I used to do it all the time. I'm not at home right now; so I can't test to see if it is still doing it. Will try again later.

DeLand/Deleon Spring, FL(Zone 8b)

I still had issues loading pics even after reducing their size. Never had a problem with larger size photo's before, hope that isn't going to continue to be an issue...and I do use .jpg's not .gif's so that's not the issue.

Dolores, CO(Zone 5b)

Still seems quite slow to me. Hopefully all will be resolved soon!

North Augusta, ON

Good eye - thanks! I flagged that one for the team very early today, and Dave had some suggestions to fix the problem ;o)

DeLand/Deleon Spring, FL(Zone 8b)

this is what happens when you try to fix something that's not broke.....

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Well, when you move from one house to another - you don't necessarily do it because something is broken in the house. Sometimes you just need to move, or sometimes simply because you want to move.

And like moving your possessions from one place to another, it's a process that is bound to turn up some things that need your attention - things you didn't realize had a small crack or were acting a little funny, but weren't screaming for attention up to now ;o)

mid central, FL(Zone 9a)

terry, excellent analogy! very well spoken.......

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I hope the site will speed up soon, it is exasperating having to just wait so long for a page to load.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

The site speed is definitely an issue that we need to address ;o)

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

it takes a few minutes for me to get on. when i click on my link to Daves it like in my favorites just takes time to load to homepage

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

It will all be worked out. I have confidence!

Phoenix, AZ

New problem, started yesterday. When I click on a thread, it takes me to the bottom - the very end - not where I left off so I can see 'unread' messages. And still s - l - o - w.

I'm not able to replicate this particular problem.

1) Is anyone else experiencing this? and
2) What browser are you running when this occurs? (If you clear your browser's history and cookies, and re-login, does it continue to happen?)

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Yes--I'm having that problem also, but not every time.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I was having the problem of the system taking me to he end of the thread but today I am not having a problem. It is faster today and that is good.

Phoenix, AZ

OK, it works sometimes and sometimes not today. Getting anything to connect on a click is next to impossible. I'll come back later - way later.

Just posted onto a thread on the Hosta forum and it was VERY slow. Again, I TRIED to right click on Home to get a new window open - to go do something else while the post was sending and it wouldn't let me. That is a definite change.

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Terry--
Just now i was trying to respond to the last Post in the below Thread (see link) . I was typing a reply, and it froze in mid sentence and I could not do anything to revive it. The little hourglass was everywhere. My firewall icon was working away.....
I tried the C-Alt. Delete twice. The second time I clicked on "end task".
Tried to re-open DG from my desk top icon--NO! Hourglass still there.
Tried to go to "Start" to restart my computer--NOPE!
Finally, pushed the BIG button and shut it all down and then restarted my computer. So far--so good. Now i will hit "send" and hope it works...

I have, mostly, experienced the slowness when I click on "home" to get to all my watched Threads. Many, many times....

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1068035/#new

Not saying this is DG's fault--but just wanted to let you know.
I run Windows XP and have Firefox.

It does seem the Home page is very slow to load - that's a common problem, and I'll let the guys know that is an issue.

Gilroy (Sunset Z14), CA(Zone 9a)

Yeah, it's slow to load when coming into the site, as well as from within a thread or forum. R E A L L Y S L O W !

North Augusta, ON

Agonizingly slow.

It pains me to say that I usually give up and find something else to do instead :((

Northwest, MO(Zone 5a)

Yep..when it takes so long to load I just give up and go on to other web sites or do things I should be doing instead of surfing the web.

Hope it speeds up soon.

Debbie

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

Me to, Debbie. It is getting to be too hard to navigate this site and I end up leaving too.

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

My computer is so slow anyway, I'm used to it. I've gotten really good at solitaire...LOL

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Not having a fun time here today...I keep leaving after waiting too long for pages to load!! I don't ever remember in 9 yrs. of it being this bad!!

Paxton, FL(Zone 8a)

For the last four days, I have had the same pictures/articles on the opening page when I click on davesgarden.com. Is this suppose to be this way now?

Hmmm...slow load again today....have tried several times to enjoy the garden today.... will check the garden later.....

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

It's been running pretty fast for me tonight. It hasn't moved this fast in I don't know how long.

Logan Lake, BC(Zone 3a)

Sometimes it's really fast, other times it is so slow loading I leave and go elsewhere because I get tired of waiting. :~{

Hope the problem is solved real soon!

Charleston, SC(Zone 9a)

It has been painfully slow for me all day today. I've canceled things several times. Deciding I don't want the info that bad.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

As soon as I posted I had a few slow downs. Then it would speed up again. So it's back and forth for me.
