We're back up ! (?) - system issues here, please

After reading the latest post the thread does not then show as "read" in my watched threads list.

The posts in that thread are turning up "out of sequence" but that will likely straighten
itself out. Is that the time stamp issue? It's a bit like experiencing time travel as one member stated! ;-)

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

I'm still having time stamp problems. I fixed the time settings and it reverted. Other than running slow everything else seems to be ok so far for me. :~)

Gilroy (Sunset Z14), CA(Zone 9a)

Cameras and photography threadwatcher still not updating.
I am guessing the slow page-loading speed has to do with the servers continuing to refresh....?

Albuquerque, NM(Zone 7a)

I just went into my preferences and found my time zone had changed
to something incorrect. I switched back to Mtn Std Time.

Everyone might want to go into their preferences and check that.
It's the reason posts are turning up with weird times.

Gilroy (Sunset Z14), CA(Zone 9a)

Good call, June---I had been time-transported to UTC 7!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

I switched my preferences for time but on this thread it's still messed up. But my main page and a few other pages are ok.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

A thread I started this am in the Southwest Forum titled "New hot-set tomato" is currently MIA...

Edited to say - I went to My Info and the thread is there under "find posts you've made". Clicked on it and time I posted it says 7:29 pm. Now it shows on my home page but not in the Southwest Forum...

This thread http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1078097/ that I spoke of in my first post here is now at the top of the page (as if someone just posted in it) but again the post will not go through. The thread also says it's still loading all the time.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

The issues I've noticed all seem to have been mentioned above.
Coffee thread - http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1079368/
Certainly the time stamp remains screwed up for the earlier posts. I started the thread last night but not anywhere near the time mentioned. However, my most recent post has the correct time. The thread watcher was NOT working properly for the two posts before my last one and the whole thing is VERY slow.

imapigeon - LOL I was transported to UTC too. We could have met for lunch!

A little slowness is certainly to be expected considering the massive amount
of data and photos that had to be transferred and likely now in the process
of being properly organized. It isn't like moving a room of furniture! It's
astonishing that the major transfer was accomplished in a matter of a
few hours. The announcement on the Home Page was much appreciated
and very clear about what was going to happen.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Hopefully the time stamp issues will work themselves out as the hours move on...in the meantime, please let us know if there are any other anomalies - 404 errors, etc.

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

New things that didn't exist yesterday...

on the Welcome home page with the list of the most recently active threads.

When scanning to the bottom of the page to access the latest posts at DG: they are not compatible with the latest posts listed at the top.

Not a major issue but a glitch all the same. Other than that, all has worked normally for me since I got on tonight. Thanks... pod

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - Latest Posts not working. All my thread posts seem to be okay. Thanks.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

I got an update for this last post. :-)

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

I got an update for this last post. :-) And still very slow. While a post is sending, I'm not able to right click on a link and go do something else in a new window.

Interesting - the previous post was VERY slow (so slow I tried to back out of it), but this one was not; so it seems to vary.

Seems like the threads that keep saying they have new messages--when they don't-- if opened AFTER the time shown for the last post will then work correctly. .

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

I just checked my time preference, and it was wrong, so I corrected it.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

My thread from earlier has reappeared in the proper forum;o)

Marlton, NJ

Okay I was just able to post in this thread now http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1078097/

Both threads working now! ^_^

mid central, FL(Zone 9a)

two posts in two separate threads on two different forums are still caught in the time warp but everything else is running smoothly this morning...yay!

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

I'm still finding it slower than usual.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Pelletory - that's excellent news.

Trackinsand - which two threads/forums?

ViolaAnn - I think they're still doing some work on the images and it's been a very slow process (and takes a lot of resources.)

DeLand/Deleon Spring, FL(Zone 8b)

I'm having a problem uploading pics in Dave's Market Place...keeps timing out, then when did get it to "load" their are extra thumbnails, tho they won't open.
mjsponies

The garden running slowly here as well,,,,especially slow when loading a thread or when going to another forum....

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

Yes, I'm experiencing slow downs as well, but we're moving a lot of data and images still.

This may be a system-related issue, but one thing to check in the meantime is the size of your images. Anything bigger than 1000x800 will take a looong time to load (and the system will reduce it to that size anyway.) Better is 800x600 or even 640x480.

Also, the file type can have an affect on the size of your photos. .jpg files are usually a little more svelte than .gif, and for appearance on a computer screen, they are more than adequate.

Thanks - yeah, I'm guessing this was still part of the twilight-zone time warp we experienced. And since you're on EST, and Metrosideros is on HAST (?), the time difference is exacerbating the issue. If those crop up today, let me know.

Garden6 - glad to hear it. The site does seem a little zippier at the moment, but that could change if they chug back into migrating or sync-ing something else ;o)

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Soooo slow.....I finally get tired of waiting and leave DG for another site.....
I agree...where's Dave?

west allis, WI(Zone 4b)

The system runs real slow, will it speed up?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

We will probably continue to have periods of slowness while they finish the work on the images. Please bear with us...I think we all (even the tech guys...or maybe ESPECIALLY the tech team) want the migration to be finished as quickly as possible ;o)

Any idea how long it's going to be this slow? I know you can't give an exact time but how about a ballpark estimate? A few hours? A day? Next Monday?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I'll see if Michael knows that one, since he's physically a LOT closer to the tech team than I am ;o) But remember, they're on PST, so it's not quite 8 a.m. there right now.

The site seems to be moving somewhat faster, at least at times, than it has been over the past 48 hours. So hopefully we're reaching the end of the processes that tend to clog things up.

Portland, TX(Zone 9a)

I think it's moving faster today than it was yesterday. I'm not noticing as many slow downs as I did before. I've been on it quite a bit this morning.

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Slow as molasses here.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Well, we should be looking at some de-bugging tools here in a few, so hopefully we'll get things squared away and running faster soon.

Are there any other oddities going on, besides general slowness and some lingering time stamp issues?

Jasper, AR(Zone 7a)

I have had trouble with "site not being found" errors when I try to open DG in my browser. This could be due to being
r-e-a-l-l-y slow and my internet connection timing out.

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Just a note to say "Thanks!" for all your help and work, all of you in admin and tech!
