Today's Weather in Your Garden - 64

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

39*F here now, we had a light drizzly snow over night, but no real accumulation since it was above freezing. We are to get high winds and snow bands tonight into the AM, with possible accumulation of 3-6". It's actually rather bright here now and the early wind is helping dry things a little. Ric

It is really amazing. Your temps on the east coast are very close to ours here in Anchorage, Alaska. We have been running in the low to hi 30's for a couple of weeks. Unheard of . Snow melting, pond ice disappearing, at least where the waterfall keeps it open. Then I got up today and we are getting buried in snow. I guess the difference is that when you get a week or so of sun and +30, you see dirt. All I get is a few inches less snow on the ground, with a foot or so left. Won't see dirt til probabably the first of April. I have a friend in Leesburg, VA. Don't envy her the rain, snow, ice, etc. Seems like most of your drivers aren't too prepared for it. And the population density makes it positively scary. Let us sing and 'ode to spring'!!

We got at least a foot of snow, with ice underneath - fell trying to walk this morning after slipping about 5 times. So skipped that and got my exercise shoveling the driveway.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Wow, you got tons of snow! We got tons of rain!
5-6" of rain in some areas...flooding is everywhere, power outages, and we had 60+ MPH winds last night. Picked up a full sized swing off it's rocker and dumped it 5 feet away. This swing to be exact.....not a lightweight!!

Wow Celeste

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

OMG it looks terrible just west and north of here. Be careful everyone. Hope they get power on for all those people. I am very thankful we have missed out on the bulk of the snow here. Alternating between bits of sun, snow, sleet and rain. Temp is 30 degrees and should go up to 40s. Wind still light from ESE but should increase in intensity later today. Doesn't look like it will be much different for the next few days.

Hampton Beach had a fire and it jumped from one building to the other. A whole block right on ocean blvd is burnt to a crisp.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I read that Sherrie!!! The winds were so bad they could not contain it.....how terrible!

Here's the story.
