Oh my! LK, thank God you both made it home safe. So, was the truck really accelerating on its' own to 120? Or the speed indicator just malfunctioned? Hope that could be fixed without much $$. Bet your heart was accelerating too!
Imagine if you chose to stray far from home... giving me the shivers.

Only time I drove that fast was along 110, leaving New Orleans, in the rain.. and it was intentional. Stupid then, but God said it wasn't my time to die.

Synda, hope the weather man is wrong. You all have enough snow this year!! Be safe on the road, is anyone driving you to the eye doctor?

Cindy that was a great finish to 'the never ending race!' LOL Me and Dave were both getting cranky, I can just imagine what the drivers felt. I was glad to see Jr come in second, even though he didn't seem so thrilled, which I don't understand that negativity, how long has it been since he came in 2nd at a race???? And Jamie McMurray hadn't won in a long time, that was also great to see.

We were bummed that Jeff Gordon came in so far behind, and JJ's tires issues, and that pothole was ridiculous. I guess Dave used to go to the Laguna Seca races and watch Jeff Gordon race before he was anyone. I told Dave right before the wreck that took KK out that I didn't like him being right smack in the middle, that's a bad bad place to be.

Dang my tendinitis in my right thumb is killing me today!

Yea Steve and I were talking about how much it is going to cost them to get that track repaved before the next race. Don't know if you know Marilyn over in B-day club, but she had a chance to go to the races with a seat on the 4th turn and she turned it DOWN!!!! Man what I would have given to be able to go to Daytona

Jaye, I was not speeding, the speedometer, was just stuck at that number. I just got back on the road, and followed the traffic home. Thank God it was just 30 miles from home, and not a long trip, like we normally do?

Cindy, I agree, that pothole will take lots of money to fix before next race! That sure made a lot of long delays for the race yesterday.

Crissy, sorry to hear your thumb is aching today. I bet cold weather has something to do with it?

Was Kim's day off and we had planned to sleep in but alas my yardman was on my roof at 7:30 blowing debris down. Grrrrrr, right outside my bedroom window and did it ever give me a shock!!

Afternoon girls,well I cancelled my eye dr appt............ SNOW ,I did call this morning and ordered fuel oil over the phone and it was delivered,so at least we'll be warm.I am so sick of this weather.January 28th was the last time I was even out,(well ,other than climbing on the roof....LOL),but I'm going stir crazy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poor Marion is just as bad as us with rain........

No Synda, I can alteast get out in the rain--not fun but do able.

We're still under a winter storm advisory, so there goes my trip to Lisa's today! Maybe tomorrow! 23* now.

Marion I'm gonna copy your text about your "yardman" and send it to my partner. He has this insane desire to start way too early on mowing day. I keep telling him we can't be out there making all that noise just because it is daylight at 5:30! Besides that I need my beauty sleep. :)

Feel free Juanita. If Kim is working I am usually up when she leaves (6:30 ish) but when she is off, we usually watch movies or read until the wee hours. It was raining so I was even more surprised he was there.

Oh man ya all are going to hate me!!! I am outside pulling weeds. It is a beautiful 61 sunny day. Mom is mowing, the grass has grown so tall. We are looking at sunshine for days maybe a little sprinkle of rain Sunday..

I just can't believe we have had 3 blizzards this month alone !!!! The schools have only been open a couple days this month,school has been called off that much.
The highway is totally white again,can't tell where my yard ends and the road begins.Rick is out driving in this stuff (nice word,had a different one on my mind).People need to stop and think when they are really angry at someone how they feel when they aren't sure that person will ever come home.I have alway done that ever since Rick and I got married,at times I would be soooooo angry at him I could just pop him in the face,I"d stop,look around the house and think,now what if he wasn't coming home from work,what if his shoes weren't there for me to trip over,what if his coats weren't there hanging over the chair......and then my whole out look and anger would change.I know Cindy knows that feeling,as I.I was supposed to get married when I was 21 and my fella went to California to look for a job and a place to live while I still stayed here and worked.When he got everything in order he was gong to send for me.But instead I got a phone call that he had been shot and killed.You can ask Julie,I was staying with her and her 2nd husband,I just about lost my mind.So when it's so bad out and Rick is out in it,I panic.In one second life can change forever.

Sorry I went on and on.......I guess it's just the panic zone of waiting to exhale.

Yep Synda you are so right. The thing that has really bothered me all these years. Is the morning Francis left for work I can't remember if he kissed me goodbye or not. He left at 2:30 in the mornings. I did however talk to him that afternoon about my stupid mantis tiller. And when we hung up we never even said " I Love you" then 3 hours after that phone call he was killed. Oh how many times I have said "I wished I could turn back the hands of time". So from now on, ladies no matter who is driving anywhere tell them you love them and don't say goodbye say "I'll see you soon".


Well I can say I am a little out of shape. My back is aching from trying to did the apple tree stump out of the ground. But oh how nice it was to be outside in a t-shirt too!!! ^_^

Praise the Lord I hear him coming in the basement............

....they don't need to be out driving around--just tell them you love them each and every day!! For that I can be grateful!!!

y'know........ this afternoon I was so ticked off at Bob - he was playing his 'puter games and was snarling at them....... and of course when he was telling me about them, I got the yelling end of things too.
then I went out for grocery shopping, and saw an "I love U" set of chocolate letters (I heart U) and got them for him. He was still snarly when I got home, but he's got a good reason - just shouldn't take it out on his "best beloved" is all.......
Yesterday he found his truck lock had been tampered with. He has a keyed, and a keyless entry. He uses his key fob to open the truck. Well, the lock has been taken out, and he's fit-to-be-tied.
Anyway, once he realized what he'd been doing, he's settled down some.
I love him dearly, and feel badly for him about the truck..... but don't take it out on the Diva LOL

o gosh yes......... as I said, he settled down. It was just an example of the silly, petty things that happen to all of us, that make us forget to say "I love you and am glad you're in my life".
I'm annoyed, as much as he, that someone attempted to steal his truck.........
No wonder he's out-of-sorts, eh?! When that happens, you feel somewhere between victimized and fearful it will happen again........

I know what you mean, while Todd and I were gone for dinner a couple of years ago, we got back home, and someone had kicked in our front door. Nothing was taken, so I guess we came home, just after they kicked the door. We called the sherriff, but not much was done after that. We are still on the look out for strangers in the neighborhood!

I guess we are so lucky to live in such a rural arrea and so far away from any cities.Knock on wood nothing ever happens here.Except snow......LOL.

I tell Kel constantly that I love him, and he does the same without any prompting. We don't bring our arguments to the bedroom and thank God, he doesn't have far to drive to go to work.

Oh Man!! I've read through everyone's posts and don't remember what anyone said. I'm tired and don't have an excuse. I never did find my mail that I lost the other day either, Dave must have thrown it away but it was from Blue Cross so I can't see him doing that. Ms. Cheerful is definitely being cheerful today! Apparently something tragic happened over the weekend so she'll tell everyone but is just a nasty old hat to me, I just don't get it.

Got a mystery here! There is this huge yellow thing in the sky, no clue what it might be. LOL Bright sunny but cold--I can handle that.

Busy today getting something finished to go into the mail and doing that ever evolving job of laundry. Take care all.

Just got back from my Knee doc, and I told her my hips are hurting again, and all she can do is tell me to come back in 6 months for another shot!

Instead of shopping at the quilt store tomorrow, Kel surprised me this morning. Made a special detour just for me. Got more kiddy fabrics and WOW material for some special quilters that want that for their blocks... also more 30's fabric. I got some, but can't find the courage to cut them :( The dilemna of fabric stashers like me!

Will be sewing.. sewing.. cutting... and napping!!!

I just got some beautiful fabrics from whittles.com, and oh boy, they are so pretty. Some for swaps, and some for my stash! ^_^

LK, that's where I got my swap fabrics from. They got good prices!!
I just hope they have EVERYTHING I had ordered!

Braces are bad bad bad for tendinitis, they cause swelling. It's not bothering me today at all, I took a break yesterday, as hard as it was... lol

We have the same yellow orb here, I'm searching online to find out what that is.
