Psst Judy, those Roses are Camellias, lol. Wow your quilt squares are pretty. You are making me want to start on my Butterfly quilt. But I'm too busy working on other things. I must, I must hurry and get them done, lol.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Judy you did a really nice job with your honeybees. That is the very first thing I learned to quilt. Here is mine.....

Cindy, I really am not sure about the camellia. The formation doesn't quite look right but as I said, I am no expert by any means. Thunder's picture is about the best I have seen of a perfect one. Look how the formation of the petals are.

Way to go Judy!!!! I knew you had it in you all this time.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

blocks are lovely! I really like the first one....

I think the camelia is a different variety...tho I am no expert either...I did not even know the name of mine!!!

hope everyone is cozy warm and safe

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Pshhhh... Janice... now you tell me... with the white primer, it took 3 coats of red to make it right. I got the same shade as on the living room walls... which is what I was going for. Each door has 4 cut outs, though... and it takes forever to paint each one so I don't leave drips on the back side, and ridges on the front... so, I have to paint all the cut outs, wipe the edges... let that dry, then paint the flat surfaces... it's taking freakin' forever. Bet I don't redo the cabinets again for a very long time. And to think, I'm only working on half the upper cabinets right now... I've still got 3/4 of the kitchen to go.

Eve was out of school all day today... poor baby. It snowed, and it snowed, and it snowed somemore yesterday, and we were covered in a thick sheet of snow all day today... too nasty to get out and do anything fun. She was so bored. Softball game is canceled for tomorrow. There's a rodeo tomorrow night, but we all think that maybe we don't want to watch an outdoor rodeo in the freezing cold. Sounds like a movie and popcorn party night here.

Not much else happening here... I'm not in the mood for playing with clay, not in the mood to sew... thought I wanted to paint the cabinets, but that's getting old quick. Don's driving me crazy because he's bored and I can't think of anything he wants to do. Poor thing goes out to the shop every morning to turn his heater on, then every afternoon he goes back out and turns it off. Before and after his nap, he follows me around asking me what I'm doing, and why. I've really got to have a talk with his boss and tell him to not give him so many days off in a row again.

Oh, and Marion... I keep forgetting to tell you... Jackson, the beagle...
Well, we had to send him to doggie school for two weeks because I was getting way too frustrated with his training. He loved to steal things, tear everything up he could reach, and was just basically a very undisciplined dog. After 2 weeks of school, he's a blessing to have around. His nose still gets him in a lot of trouble... but he does listen to me now. He's not allowed to jump on people or furniture, and now, when he gets on something he's not suppose to, I just have to tell him "off" and he obeys the first time. He's still a theif, sometimes... but I can tell him "drop it" and he obeys, instead of biting me in the struggle to get it away from him. I do have to watch what I put in the garbage can, because he still loves to get into it. His nose is his downfall... but we're working on getting that under control... it's not as bad as it was before school. The part that I like the best is that he learned the command "place"... I just point to his bed in the living room, and say "PLACE", and he will lay there while we eat dinner... he won't move a muscle until I tell him "OK". Before, we couldn't even eat without him trying to get up on the bar.

Ok, nuff about the dog. He's just a dog. Even though Don calls him "son" all the time... he's just a dog.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh BJ he isn't just a dog--he is a beagle!!!! Oh they can be so annoying but then any dog can I guess when they don't mind. I wish we could have one here but it might get us put out of the development. To much wild life and a beagle's nose--yes definite trouble. My son's chocolate lab is starting to calm down a bit--thank goodness. He is way to big to still think he is a puppy.

Husbands are wonderful to have around but oh how they do get bored!!!! Ross used to lie on the floor of my sewing room when I was sewing thus causing me to have to step over him when I went out to do something. Usually because he would start reading and fall asleep. I did finally managed to get him to sit in his recliner to read.

Well late and I am cold and tired. Doing nothing is exhausting!!!!

Myrtle Beach, SC(Zone 8b)

Well sistahs we have snow at the beach. Yuk How about you Jaye ? I got home from work about an hour ago. A 15 min drive took me 45 min. The roads are not really that bad but this ole lady didn't want to end up in a ditch. grin*

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

So glad you got home safely Tina. We need you here with us and not in a ditch--to cold for that! Rest well tonight.

Morning everyone1
Coffee is on, and there will be bacon and french toast done in a bit.

Bj, beagles are well known for being trouble makers. Glad to hear you are getting Jackson trained. How is that red hot pepper of a car doing? Still having fun with it?

Hard to believe north east Texas has so much snow! Be careful if you have to go out in it.
That goes for all of you. We all worry about each other.
Jaye, hope your feeling a bit better today? Hope you don't have the flu?

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Morning y'all, well my vacation is over, and I have to go to work today :(
it is going to be cold and dark when I get out!! yuck :(

not looking forward to that at all, but hey I still have a job!!

I think my new schedule may end up being a lot of 2 - 11's.....that could be good, means sewing time every morning...and more garden time...if it ever gets warm again....

It is easier for me to get up, and get into something...when you get home at 6pm after working all day you don't want to do anything. so hopefully this will work out well!!!

hope everyone is feeling pretty good today, and staying warm....I am going to meander around a bit...then off to sewing...before work...

5 inches of snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here in Jayeville!!!!!!!!
And it's still snowing.... brrrr.. need that coffee now, LK!
As to the block swap, not me LK. 3 months is too short a time, as my machine will be tied up with present monthly blocks and charity quilts plus another swap block.

Sis Kathy is snowed in :(

Dallas has unprecedented snow in a century! Funny how Don's getting cabin fever and you want his vacation shortened!! BJ, show him Farmville!!! That will keep him occupied.

Aww thanks Synda. Love you too Missy!! Now why aren't you visiting the other building?

Thunder, if you're a morning person, I am sure you'd enjoy the afternoon shift. If you could bring along a sewing machine, wouldn't that be peachy, sewing druing your breaks... but then..you'd need some time to recharge yourself!!

Yep, Susan got to 'meet' Kel. Sorry love, had to take Tylenol to kill the fever. Yep.. had to close the shop to prevent accidents... and hence prevent any more rising insurance costs! Supposed to snow again next week, so we might be forced to take an extended break! Now this will be the best time for Kel to finish that home repairs list.

Folks here don't get snow this much so no snow blowers and at this rate, we might as well get a whatchamacallit.. Zamboni?

Bon, as much as I love to shop... I'm not taking advantage today.. that white stuff can be dangerous!!

Hi Kimmie!!! How are you going to medicate yourself with those shingles. Never had shingles, so I don't know what to suggest.
Enjoy yourself in Florida.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

(((((JUDY))))))) Yes, Brugs are Angle Trumpets.

Boy you all are busy busy busy! I got a migraine at work yesterday around 1pm, so my work came to a screeching hault, but that's ok, I went internet shopping instead. It went away while I was driving home but ended up with the shaky yucky feeling, so ate dinner and just sat in front of the boob tube the rest of the evening. By the time I went to bed at 11 I felt almost back to normal, today I'm fine. Weird.

Dave's in the shower so I'm going to go find out what's on his agenda for the day. See ya'll later!!!

Raleigh, NC

hmmm I've met Don - bj is not going to keep him on a computer for long. he's not happy without a hammer in one hand.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Kim, shingles, can get worse, and make you feel really bad, if you don't treat them, so go get those meds, and treat it while it is new, it will be easier to treat now.

Definition
Shingles is a viral infection that causes a painful rash. Although shingles can occur anywhere on your body, it most often appears as a band of blisters that wraps from the middle of your back around one side of your chest to your breastbone.

Shingles is caused by the varicella-zoster virus — the same virus that causes chickenpox. After you've had chickenpox, the virus lies inactive in nerve tissue near your spinal cord and brain. Years later, the virus may reactivate as shingles.

While it isn't a life-threatening condition, shingles can be very painful. Vaccines can help reduce the risk of shingles, while early treatment can help shorten a shingles infection and lessen the chance of complications.
A person with shingles can pass the varicella-zoster virus to anyone who hasn't had chickenpox. This usually occurs through direct contact with the open sores of the shingles rash. Once infected, the person will develop chickenpox, however, not shingles.

Chickenpox can be dangerous for some groups of people. Until your shingles blisters scab over, you are contagious and should avoid physical contact
