Any way.. glad you popped in!
We are fine, no snow, sunshine but cold. Picked a bunch of narcisses for in the house, Making the house smell good. Busy working on towels, spring swap, b-day pressies and wind chime swap. Want to get the towels done so I can be outside working come March.
I've been talking with Steve and we are going to try again to see if we can make our relationship work for good. But his mom is haveing some health problems. He spent all day with several doctor appt with her today. May see him Sunday to watch Daytona 500, not holding my breath.

Susan, that is GORGEOUS!
Looks like a lot of work... how big is the block?
Ok.. really.. really going to bed... took my meds.. paid a visit to the loo..
12"
I switched the center block and the 4 rectangles, cuz they'd given me 70's colours and I have had pieces of this beautiful fabric for about 10 years or more.... part of fabric from a log cabin quilt I made my mom (quilt in a day workshop......)
Well, it's been quite a day - went to the ladies' church meeting, then to Langdon Alberta to pick up a 2nd hand Breadmaker, then to Montana's restaurant to have dinner (boy is it LOUD there.......) then home to catch up on here....
Now I'm tired - going to sleep (only had 5-6 hours each night for last 4.....)
very taaaaaaahred........
Susan
Whew... I just skimmed the posts (speed reading isn't all it's cracked up to be)... and I probably missed a lot... but I did catch the beautiful quilt blocks... sheesh... just gorgeous.
Yes... I've discovered Farmville. I know some of you have been there for a year... but I'm a late bloomer.
My son had to actually text me today to tell me to put the cows in the barn... ugh.
Cabinets are sanded, and primed, and I'll get them painted tomorrow. Of course, we're only working on the upper cabinets over the bar, and to the left of the sink. Even though, it's got the whole kitchen shut down and stuff is laying everywhere. It's been take out here since Monday... not much to choose from way out here, so I'm already running out of different dinner ideas.
Eve is playing softball this year. She's never ever played softball before, and never even heard of it until now. Her coach told her today that she's the most improved player right now. She came home today all smiles. Except for one thing... Wednesday is track day in Athletics class... last period... so she had to run a mile just before school was out. Then went straight to softball practice, and some girl got mouthy with the coach so the whole team had to run 3 "M's" (a pattern on the field that forms the letter M)... then another girl wasn't listening when the coach was giving instructions, so they all had to run a mile on the track field. I bet the poor baby ran 3 miles this afternoon... it was 36 degrees. Her nose was frozen, and she said she couldn't even concentrate on her breathing like her coach told her to do... shhhh don't tell the coach... she's really tough on those girls.
Yep.. it's cold & wet here too... but not like some of you are getting. Its only been raining here about every other day... but the days the sun shines, it's still below 40. Suppose to snow tomorrow here... I'll believe it when I see it. It's still unusually cold this year for Texas.
Well, that's all the news here... except to say in 7 days I can send Don back to work... YEAH !!!
Morning everyone! Coffee is on, and we have scrambled eggs, bacon & hashbrowns for breakfast.
Lots of places shut down, and schools closed. Please be careful if your in those places?
Susan, that block is so pretty. Love the colors!
Thanks LK.
Just came back from the other building and left breakfast there.
It's getting to be a downer for all our snowed-in sistahs. Better be indoors than get hurt.
Well, I'm off to the doctor. See you all later! Try to entertain yourselves indoors!
thanks much Jaye, It will probably become one of my cherished items..
Marion, I don't watch much tv, and only work on hand quilting when I do....
I missed something?? what is piece of fabric for??
♪♫♪ Susan !! GORGEOUS!
photo for Jaye, this is an on going project, fusible appliqué..all the "dancers" are fused, only one is completely stitched
very cold here this am, too cold for central florida in Feb!!! hope everyone is safe and warm...
Jaye, let us know how it went at the doc?
Thunder, love the skeletons! very pretty, and looks like a lot of work?
Marion I love the look of that block. The colors are amazing and you really can't tell where the seams are. Do you remember the name of the block?
BJ you are really getting a jump on Spring cleaning! We had 10" of snow but you all aren't used to the cold temps down there. As long as we have sun I can stay in and look out at the pretty white stuff. After next week I can do that as long as I want. Only three more days of work and I am officially retired!
Lucky you !! two more days of vacation, then I have to go back to work pffftttt :( and into a different position :(
I am thinking I am not gonna like it to much, but am trying very hard to keep an open mind!!!
yes LK , lots of work, all those pieces to cut out!! now all those pieces to sew!!!
Barb, I think the block you are referring to is a stack n whack....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a great day!!
I'm back, couldn't get online because my satellite dish was covered with snow, finally got on Tuesday but got stuck helping Dave and researching and what-not, came to work yesterday and was so busy trying to catch up and didn't go online at all, so here I am today letting ya'll know that I'm fine and still swamped under with work. We might get an inch of snow tonight and tomorrow morning, so it might be another stay home day.
Cindy I hope Steve works out this time around.
It's the site again, cuz they aren't showing up on my pc either. Off to Curves TTYL
I posted the link to the picture I wanted to show on another thread and that worked fine. Copy and paste the website address.
Here's some pics I want to share with you:
http://picasaweb.google.com/christinepix/20100209#
Hey Crissy, glad to hear your doing OK!
CIndy, how are you doing at curves?
LK don't put it in the normal picture area,.
Yeap, the block is a Stack and Whack block.
What's up with all the pictures today? Some work, others don't. Arrrgh.
Thunder, I am not a tv person very much either but they are always teasing me about a certain actor who played in Pirates of the Caribbean. A certain person who will be seen soon as the Mad Hatter. LOL I be old, I don't be dead!!!!
Getting things together to go to Gator Town--festival committee meeting tonight. Lucky me, son said he would go down with me so I don't have to stay over. One catch: take him to Nappys for a pizza--perfect bargain in my book.
Well, hopefully it will show up later?
Copy the website address like you do when we're switching to a new thread.
Happy Birthday to the best arm hugs person I know. Love you Judy!!!!!
Happy Birthday Judy!!! Hope it's the best one ver.
DG is sending pictures from one server to another today and that's why it is as it is. Hopefully it won't take too long.
Jaye - No, I'm still a newbie. It just looks like I'm not. I'm persistent, that's what I am. I will not tell you how much material I went thru practicing this block! Even so, there are some points that don't match. But I figure, since the signature blocks are supposed to "say" something about me . . . I'm not perfect, so I figure it's ok to be a little "off" once in a while!
Happy Birthday, Judy!
There is always suppose to be a mistake in a quilt so not to worry. Trouble is: mine have several but they are me!
LOL, LK during the holidays I gained some pounds back and with this crappy weather, not being able to get outside to work I'm having a hard time taking them off. Oh and mom's cooking too. She fixes a lot of fried foods and that is a BIG NO NO. So I told her that I will start doing my own meals and she hers. She needs to put on weight, she only weighs 113, is just skin and bones. Not good at all.
Sorry to hear that about your Mom Cindy. We all go up and down in weight, but I know you are a strong woman, and will get back at it soon.
Happy Birthday Judy!!
Good morning Sistahs!
Thank you for the Birthday Wishes.
Oh my gosh so many beautiful Quilt blocks! Marion love your stack n Whack piece. Still trying to figure that one out!
But remember last year you all gave me a certificate for material? Well...Yesterday, I started a q-block!! decided to make myself something, which amazed Sabrina...lol usually never keep what I make. Anyway it's my first actual q-block, I am making a Honey bee block...Next I've got the Basket in mind to do...and I am using all the material from my sistahs...So thank you for being with me today!
I hope your all having a good day.
Going to lunch with a couple friends from work.
Janice...How wonderful that you are able to Retire, are you excited?
Synda , so glad your honey is home safe with you.
Cindy, Hope things work out well with you and Steve.
Crissy, so glad to see you, was getting worried!
Linda kaye, hope your computer stays in working order.
OK...got to go to the other building,lol...See you later.
Have a wonderful Day.
