The_Wonder_Downunder, I went back through my emails, and I paid for her renewal on 1 Sept. She wrote back and thanked me, but have not heard from her since?
Best/Worse & What did I learn today..visit with friends!
I'll try to find her right now, see if I can get anywhere... LOL
Taters
I'am fine, got 6 hrs of sleep.............................
Tubby
wish she would post..think of her often...aren't you a 'sweetie' Linda Kay..
guess it won't be long she'll be having winter and not excited one bit about it and here we are thrilled to have spring on our doorstep...
I'll have to check that site out...don't encourage me though, lordy I could stay busy for the next 20 years and not have to purchase anything if I so put my mind to it...should be a law, no buying anything new until you use something old..hey, why not try that..are you all game? I will if you will...drats, that would mean the pink skein of wool I need to pick up at lunch would be out of the question...ok..we'll start it tomorrow morning...
Crissy, some say you cannot go back into a dream! Tell you what, I often do, I wake, try to shake myself to fully wake, fall back asleep and right back into the dream..now why can't they happen when I'm dreaming of some gorgeous hunk and not when something terrible is having...
You must be shaken to dream such a dream..maybe it's something you say during the day or something you read that is bringing on these nightmares..looking forward to seeing you veggie gardens..
This morning I saw a book, had a lot of different garden projects..I debated about purchasing it because it was $19.99, felt I've loads of books with garden projects and now I'm mad at myself, keep trying to remember some of the projects..you just know I'll be going back for it and watch it be gone!
Tubby, is you are able, drop a 'hi' so we know you are lurking..it's been several days we've not heard from you and are starting to fret...
Trisha, hope all went well at the dentist with Laura...what's Jade been into lately???
girls just came in from lunch, my turn..by the way, any of you any suggestions how to get the weight loss thing going again, still dieting but on a plateau and it's madening, actuall I just started to cheap these past few days, figure if I can't lose but not gain, might as well treat myself..
We cross posted 'tubby'..6 hrs is good for you is it not? Do you find yourself gaining strength..are you able to walk at all? so many questions...how's Shirley doing?
That sounds like a really good nights sleep Tubby! I think I remember you having problems getting 5 hours a night. Awesome!! I ditto Betty's questions.
Betty I'm going to blame it on too many Law and Order episodes. That's all Dave seems to want to watch anymore during the days, luckly I don't think we're going to have too many more snow days, we usually get a couple inches of snow the first week or two of March. Of course it's Olympics and Idol and White Collar and Survivor and House and and and.... hhhmmmmmm....
LOL I didn't finish my sentence!

Tubby
Just got home....Laura had two teeth pulled she is numb and looks like a chipmunk, but she should fell much better once this heals up.
Sage is doing great. Just keeping up with school work and being a Kid!
Have a lot of things to catch up with here...will check in later.
Oh thanks for letting us know Trisha. Sucks she had to lose two teeth but do what you can do to get out of pain!
You'll be walking soon 'tubby'!
LOL Crissy, White Collar and Law and Order are 2 of my favorites...maybe I should be keeping Dave company..
2 teeth, wow, Trisha, entire jaw must have been infected..lordy she is lucky to have you so close by! You'll be needing a rest before spring, all you seem to do is rush/rush/rush....
Jaye, got my package, omg what pretty material..you say I have to ask Judy and the girls what to do with it?
Did drop in to the quilt shop on my way home..didn't purchase material but did get a pattern..it's a bag with pocket sleeves and on the inside is a pull string so nothing can fall out..geeze louise, I'm no good in describing things...will make one though..NOT, lol, this weekend though..
As I passed the Vet's on the way home I told him about Missy having some hot spots sooo he says bring her in..lordy I don't spend that much money on meds and dr's myself..she sure wasn't happy about being there - being probed, thermometer you know where...not a happy camper...
it's that time of evening, bath / jammies and get comfy....
Glossy photo, didn't take well...
Just got finished packing for a quilting overnight with my old quilting buddies from where I used to live (50 miles away). We are meeting there tomorrow and we are going to sew until we drop or fall over from laughing together again. I've been looking forward to this for a month.
Anyway, Betty here is a picture of the blocks I made with Jayes fabric. Haven't quite decided how I'm going to set them.
Hello To All;
Well...RE: FB... that is what I do..I don't do the games and all and it has worked for me so far.....
I am hoping to plant Basil, Parsley and Marigolds tomorrow... if another freeze happens and they die....well that is the gamble I am taking...but I HAVE to do something with this FROZEN backyard... HUGS
HUGS to all
Mary
he was in the right lane and I was in the left lane going my usual 75mph in a 70mph zone, right before I got to him he started driving right down the middle of both lanes so no one could get around him in either lane, and he slowed down even more! When he saw a State Trooper parked on the shoulder he decided to merge back into his own lane, I was just about to call him in to the law too.
Crissy, was he an out of state driver? Here in good ole Cali.... if there are any emergency or cal-trans vehicles on the side of the road...its a law that we have to slow down and change lanes. $271 fine if we dont. I understand the reasoning behind the law...but what you described also shows how dangerous it is too!
tubby, 6 hours! Your lucky! I think I got about 30 mins :( too much on my mind lately so it just wouldnt rest last night.
Wow Betty your more busy than I am! sounds like you have lots planned this weekend!
Trish, glad to hear Lauras doing better!
LK... I saw laura (under) on PNW thread I think....
waving hi to all! I'm off to dreamland! (I hope!)
Angl
I fell good................
Tubby
AnnMarie, what is PMW stand for???
That's stiff fines, here is you are caught using a mobile phone and such it's $155. or is it $255. and several points..as it should be! texting while driving is dangerous..I'll have to check the overhead sign as I go onto the 400hwy. on Monday..
Animals fed and out for morning constitution..I've coffee in hand trying to figure out where to start first...only outing I need to do this weekend is a quick pop in to the grocery store..think they open at 8:30 but that will only take 10 minutes..rest of the weekend you'll catch me in my jammies playing..do you all have favorite jammies you like to work in? watch if today isn't the day I get company drop in from time to time...they'll understand I'm sure..
So what do you have planned for you day?
Morning everyone.
Barb love the colors your using!
Morning all!!
Got your email Betty and I am so relieved you got your package. Hmm.. that took 2 weeks. Must be all that snow.
No notes included was intentional!! Just want you to keep wondering why!! Lololol.. ain't I cruel?
Betty, isn't Barb so amazing? She's truly an accomplished quilter!
That apron show that I've missed when I had the virus? Kel's taking me to it today. It's a 2 month exhibit. Will take pictures if the museum allow it.
Well ladies and Tubby, have a fantastic Saturday.
Looking forward to seeing your photo's Jaye..bet you come home with a head full of ideas..
By the way, the site you sent me to had a calling to me.. I'm spending the better part of the day trying out the technique...
Also have material set aside for the bag..ooohhh just might have to steal a piece of the material you sent for an area on the bag..not only will it be the bag of many pockets, but a bag done in friendship materials...didn't take time to look at how much I need for the bag but I'm sure if I don't have enough of the colors I set out, I can find more!!!
Just put spaghetti sauce on, not sure how I'm going to jump from project to project and NOT burn the sauce...lol
I'm on a roll so can't sit for too long..energizer batteries will die down...
Girls, material Jaye sent me is at the right side of the photo..such pretty colors...it's me/me/me
Betty, those are beautiful fabric!
Note to Betty, Don't burn the sauce!
Crock Pot....the only answer for not burning the food while crafting!! Spaghetti Sauce....crochet and Olympics...crock pot??? Maye we will have Spaghetti for dinner tonight....being Church night I can put the sauce in and forget about it then all I have to do is throw the pasta in a pot when I get home. Betty, thanks for the idea!
Beautiful sunshine today and supposed to reach close to 60*....right now it is still cold with frost in the shaded areas....brrr. So I am settled in with my coffee, trying to finish this crocheted basket and watching the USA/Sweden Curling Match! So far we are doing well.
OK talked me into it, upstairs to put spaghetti sauce in crockpot, the rest I can freeze...time for a break anyway..play
Blocks are coming along fine, seems easy enough to do, I'll know I guess when I get to the 2nd row..
Cool down here, not cold enough to put on fireplace but cool none the less...maybe a hot chocolate and sit and tie some of the watercolor lap quilt for a change of pace..
Not sure why, no much going on in town, usually when sitting upstairs I can see people walking, cars travelling etc. but not today...
Can you share a photo of the afghan Trisha...
Well, crafts have to go on back burner, glad you told me to put the sauce in slow cooker, Greg just called, said it's a beautiful day out there and though I should go up the lakes snowmobiling..said I hadn't been for awhile and the outing would do me good....
Soooo got to find my floater suit, gloves, boots and helmet...
Sure was a toss up..stay home/out in the cold/stay home out in the cold!
Cold won out..might even get to go up to my cousin Doug's who is on Cognashene Island...
Try to fit my camera in my pockets..
Have a good time Betty!
Anjl when did that law go into affect in CA??? I lived in CA until April 2007, born and raised and all! Here for anyone pulled over the side of the road you are supposed to slow down and merge if possible.
He was NOT blocking the lanes because of the state trooper watching for speeders parked on the shoulder, he was being a jerk. He sat in the middle of both lanes for a good 3 miles and we have rolling hills here, we had to crest two hills to get to him. When we crested the third hill he saw the trooper sitting at the bottom of the hill with his foot on the brake, so he decided to act like he was in the middle of changing lanes, the trooper wouldn't have been able to see any different. By the time he merged into the right lane he had all kinds of cars and big rigs blocked. It was a local Fauke box truck, probably going from Texarkana to Little Rock.
I SOOO wish that cell phone law would go into affect here, they keep talking about it but nothing gets done. They do have the texting law here, thank goodness!
Love the pics!!
I went to a luncheon at a DGers house today, Dave went with me and we had a great time! I think he even enjoyed himself!! YAY!!
Which DG'er did you visit with Crissy? Glad Dave went with you..
LindaKay did enjoy my afternoon...
Managed to take my camera..Greg says 'mom and her camera' lol
Greg and I putting on our dickies, getting ready is half the work...
Greg said all 4 of them need new ones so guess out comes the knitting machine and a trip to the hyde house..lordy they are warm though..
Just before Greg called I said it was awfully quiet in town, now I know why, lordy everyone is out on the bay..hardly an area not track ladden flat..
What's great is the guys have market the trails with Christmas trees, hard to get lost..the main route takes you to Cognashene up in Georgian Bay, this way it's safer for those not familiar with the ice
Got to loon cove just in time to watch the 'puddle jumps' was joking with Greg, when he and Jeff were younger and took our machines they did puddle jumping..asked him what he thought if I took a turn on his machine..let's just say he didn't say 'yes'...
Some of you may ask what 'puddle jumping is' you can see snowmachines waiting for their turn..a group of snowmobilers cut the ice off the bay for about 800', object is to take a run with the snowmachine leaving from maybe 800' and make it across the length..after everyone has their turn, then you start off at 700' usually by late afternoon they are starting off right at the ice edge..the most powerful of machines make it without a problem, some are fished out..know it sounds dangerous but it's not! Off duty firemen, policeman, emergency rescue men all are on hand incase something went awry, they have large hooks that grab the machine as it's going under..usually there are sets of clothing for the men/women who go into the wataer..most wear floater suits like I had on so you just float...
Too much fun....

Here's Jason, Dougie's son all excited and telling us about coming over one of the portages where a young man, brand new machine, went off on the wrong side, machine landed in water and man was dazed walking around on the ice..Jason said his friends didn't even notice he wasn't in their group..Jason with the help of those in his group were able to get a tree limb, support the machine and pull it out..says likely it's a write off..
Must say I taught the boys how to snowmobile properly..believe this or not I was one of the first Snowmobile Instructors about 30 years ago when the gmt. mandated that you had to have a drivers license in order to operate a snowmobile even on the ice..that included youth 12 and over..I did classes at the hall under the auspices of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobilers..to this day on Greg's left hand snowmobile glove is a mirror..not more than 5 minutes or so would go by that I didn't see him lift his hand to check the rear and see if we were following him...did me proud!
So, must say my muscles are aching..Greg said my bathing suit was at his house, wanted me to go outside into the hot tub but I wanted to get home and check my sauce...too late in the day to burn it now lol
Best...spending the afternoon with my boys snowmobiling and seeing family
Worse..Noah who is about 4 hrs. away from here with Melanie at a weekend hockey game lost...he's disappointed...
What did I learn...a planned day can take some unusual curves...
My projects can wait...
All and all..I've enjoyed this day..
Good Lord willing, we'll gab tomorrow..
It was at Marsue's house, about 8 other girls from the Midsouth forum. Had a great time as always!
Wow Betty, you had quite a day! Love the pics, and there's no way I could ice fish, I'm too much of a city girl. LOL
Great Day Betty!
Thanks For taking me "with you"! Loads of FUN!
HUGS,
Mary
wow Betty what beautiful pictures! and a tiring day! I am exhausted just watching the photo show! LOL!
PNW is what I meant to say and thats Pacific NorthWest thread. I love the colors in that quilt your making! beautiful!!
Crissy I dont know exactly when the change lane law went into effect. It had to have been recently because I never heard any of my insurance clients getting a ticket for it. I found out about the law from a friend who was ticketed. She also didnt know of the law, and found out the hard/expensive way :(
The cell phone/texting law went into effect here about a year ago, but the fine is only $20! It cost them a fortune to write the law and get it into effect. seems like a waste of money for a law that no one will abide by especially with such a low fine. I think that fine should be a couple hundred dollars!
I had my wonderful grandson last night and this morning. It amazes me how much more he has learned each week. A few months ago he could barely talk...now he doesnt stop! He sat on my lap last night saying 'jamba juice' over and over again trying to get the phonics down right! Such a joy to watch him learn! LOL but oh my! soooo much energy!
headed off to check emails then sleep! G'nite all!
