Lynnie, it's really not a hat. It is almost like a triangle piece of plastic that you tie under your chin. Old ladies use to wear them all the time after they got their hair done in some type of frozen teased style that lasted all week. Surely, you have seen them.

Good Morning Gysies, Man do I haave jet lag :-) Watching the pretty little snow flurries out my window. My yard should be nice and clean come spring with all the dusting we've gotten. Venice I remember those all the primpy women would wear them out to keep those high hair dos from flying apart. They even rolled toilet paper around their heads at night so they wouldn't muss their hair after going to the beauty parlor. After they put the cold cream and mud packs on their faces. Poor Hubbies, what they had to look at in the AM. lol.

My hair is fine, very thin, and straight. If I don't curl it you can see bare spots and not enough hair to cover my head. I have always had to put some curlers in my hair.

When it is cold and blowing snow, they really keep my head warm. I started wearing one when I was in WI, just on the worsts days. I could never do the toilet paper thing, because my hair would turn out all flat and crushed.

We are having a dusting a snow here also, 25 and feels like 13. A little more in a couple of days.

Joy, on our local news, they showed what curling shoes are like. I had no idea they were such specialized shoes!

You do know I still have those stupid gnats. I just read something I had never seen before. Someone swoops them up in her vacuum sweeper. I just got 4 from tapping on a pot! If I see them at my desk, it is hard to get them because it is just too awkward to switch the sweep on, grab the hose, and then . . . where did that gnat go?

Also, I read more about Neem Oil. It is good for getting rid of gnats but it might take 1-2 weeks. The gnats get confused and stop eating, mating, and laying eggs. If there are eggs, they don't hatch and larvae don't moult. It absorbs into the plant and roots, and if stages of gnats eat them, they will die. Also if the oil gets on the bugs, it sufficates them. Killing off all the stages takes a while. So I will spray everyday for a week! Therefore, next Tuesday they should be all gone!

twist & go is a good way to describe my hair lol I straighten it once in a while but it's not "me."
we got a good 4 inches so far, we went sledding it was fun. Bumps hurt my butt though *grin* I'm not as young as I used to be.

it's somewhere out there I keep losing posts too Venice! I think my neighbor across the street has a piano.... somebody had it translated but didn't write it down. I can probably do that online. it's pretty old, some words are hard to read. I love it though, and wanted to share it with you guys.

yeah I got my height from my grammy hahaha I never met her she died before I was born. The photo is on the wall of my mother's den....there are old old snapshots around, tough to see anybody.

no it was just hair and makeup tonight Venice...LOTS of makeup....they "divided" my head and each got half. I need a shower! Nick & Carmendy they ain't.
