haha you go Kassy! nice!
Yikes JJ nothing scarier than finding faulty wiring! darn rodents! Also did you check the den for your crockpot? Weren't you putting stuff in there to store right after you got it cleaned out ?
Venice it's probably too little sun, it's been cloudy all winter here! What about where you are?
Venice we watched Apollo, he's amazing...quite an athlete, seems to have the ability to focus very well.
Have a nice day tomorrow Flowers, see ya Monday!

~~~~~good morning!~~~~
happy valentine's day everybody! coffee's on!
Happy Valentines Day
Morning
Happy Valentine's Day! DH got to the computer before me, it's a race! He reads all his art stuff, all his news stuff, it takes him a while. That's ok, I pulled out a gardening magazine while I was waiting.
JJ, that's scary when that stuff happens.
Venice, we watched The Olympics last night. DH asked me what my favorite sport to watch was. Besides figure skating? Told him I couldn't decide.
DS's girlfriend was saying (complaining really) that he makes her watch curling. I didn't have the heart to tell her it doesn't get much better. I watched curling for years. That apple certainly didn't fall far from the tree!
Lynnie, there's all kinds of weird sunflowers out there. I did some red ones once, let me see if I have a picture.
Yup, I found one. Don't know how the color is though.
Smiley I just got a roots and rhizomes catalog. Don't know that I'll order anything but the pictures in it are great. Tons of different daylilies, siberian iris, hostas ans some other perennials.
Lynnie they are in alphabetical order....
OK think I'll shut this thing down until GS goes home. He wants to help gran pa in the kitchen so I better supervise, bdfore he gets into trouble....
Have a great day all
Hope all of you are having a very wonderful Valentines Day!!
Beautiful red sunflowers especially on V-day. I have never had them before. The last package of sunflower seeds I bought had only 10 fairly small seeds in it. I couldn't believe that is all that was suppose to be in the package, maybe a mistake. So I had the register lady open another package of seeds. Guess what. Ten seeds!!!
Curling! That must be painful to watch! Maybe I should give it another try next time.
In previous years, I only watched figure skating. But each year I get more interested in other sports. I wonder what will be on today.
Lynnie, glad you got to see Apolo Ohno. His first race was so cool. But on the overall race, he got a Silver medal. Such a good guy.
I watched the ladies down hill . . . I don't know what you call it. They go over many small bumps, do a fancy jump, more of those bumps, then another jump, and a few more bumps. Now that was kind of cool to watch. It is amazing how they go over those bumps and do their jumps. On each bump they put their knees up to their chest and move their hips way over to one side then another for another bump. Such strength that must take.
About my plants. It is challenging to arrange my plants so they have the right type of light they need and still put them in a place so Kitty won't get to them. No pots turned over last night so maybe they are good for now.
If anyone saw any of the snow venues, it really wasn't snow. They were performing only on SLUSH! I don't know if that makes it better for the athletes or not. But you could see it really splashing up.
You all have a great day!!!
JJ, I am sure your GS will be a BIG help to his granpa in the kitchen! Can't wait to find out what he was doing!!
My idea of positive reinforcement to make Kitty stop drinking from my glass and knocking it over, IS NOT WORKING!
Hi Venice!
Curling isn't painful, it's just boring. Unless you know the nuances of the game, that is.
I saw the slush thing, I think it makes it harder for the skiers - ski's glide on top of the surface. They canceled one of the women's events today because of slush.
I saw the womens moguls - the one with the knees! Looked painful just to watch!
Maybe you could make your water glass undesirable to Kitty somehow.
Smiley, that is what I meant. Curling is so boring it is painful to watch!!! lol
Moguls, is that what it is called! Those girls were amazing!
Did you see the men's long skate? I don't know how they can bend over like that for so long! I have arthritis in my back and hips and it doesn't take much for them to be aggravated.
I have tried about everything to keep Kitty out of my water. So many different type of containers : one of those large metal coffee cups, the heavy milkshake size glass that came with my blender, put them inside of small caseroles even weighted them down with coins, double stick tape but I couldn't drink from it with the tape! My vet mentioned a Eddie Bauer cup that has a straw with a diaphram so if you turn it upside down it won't leak. I will go look for that now.
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE!
Did you see what Dave has been doing? He is adding all kinds of cool stuff. He explaned it and a lot of people understood what he was sayingl But I didn't! I asked him, "Are you saying that we have to learn all that code stuff? Reminds me of calculus!" He said I could leave it at the default. (That is what slow people do!)
Well, I am sure one of you girls or sons can figure it out. Then you can tell me about it. Or even better, if I can copy what you do.
I have been horrible at any languages. I just don't get it. With my ADD and other stuff going on, it just looks like a jumble of words. I hated Spanish class in high school. We had to stand up and read a sentence of our homework. Well, I didn't get the homework and pronoucing all the words wasn't good either. So embarassing! Teacher was nice but that didn't help.
That Olympic luge is something else! Flying over that ice tunnel, laying on your back with this tuny luge sled, and going 90 miles an hour! It is good that they shortened that slide.
Luge has been a favorite to watch in our house for a long time. Have you ever seen 'skeleton'? I forgot the difference, but it's very similar to luge.
I've been checking out Dave's postings, some of it I get, other stuff goes over my head.
Do you see what the Olympic skiers are doing now? Cross country. Going up hills! They must be so strong. Take a look for just a minute. They are at the end of the race!!!
Smiley, since you understand some of what Dave has written, maybe you can answer a question for me. My aunt sent me an email with some good info in it. I tried to forward it and also to copy it to a word document. Each time, all of it changed to code. Do you have any idea why that would happen?
And no, I don't know what 'skeleton' is. Is it an Olympic event?
Smiley, it looks like 'skeleton' is like luge but laying face down. Scarry!
Venice, what was the extension on her attachment (IE: .doc ~or~ .wpd)
It wasn't an attachment. It was copied directly to her email, forwarded from someone else.
Smiley, there is some figure skating tonight!
Ooh, gotta go watch!
And you tried to copy it right from the body of her e-mail? That could be why.
Try clicking on the forward button, then try to copy it. If you like, you can forward it to me, I'll try to get it into a word document for you.
Gotta go downstairs with the family. Catch you all tomorrow.
Smiley, I first tried forwarding it and it all went into code!
Smiley, I just opened that email and it is all in code!!! I delete it! There must be some kind of bug in it.
Did you just see Loch run the luge. 91 MPH!!!!! That is gold!
They are beautiful and very pretty together.
They look like twin kitties!
when in doubt, delete! I think you did the right thing, Venice.
Why do the Olympic metals look like a truck ran over them?
I think we are only to get 1" here tonight! They have been talking about this 'snow storm' for 5-6 days! Silly weathermen!!!
good morning all! coffee is hot & yummy!
Kassy those look like 2 content cats! They must love their new home.
Venice I haven't see the medals, I'll have to check them out. And those weatherman! They cancelled school here for no reason last week becuase of them! They're getting as bad and inaccurate as the rest of the media.
is it too early to start my seeds? Our last frost us usually about Memorial day.
Morning,
Lynnie my coffee pot is sitting on the floor.
Venice GS helped grampa put the insulation in the walls ( good thing that stuff doesn't itch).
Then as grampa was taking up the hardwood border Dillon was putting it back. Said he was doing the floor puzzle.
Got to get in the shower hile DH still hasthe water on.
Catch you later
That Dillion, he's not afraid to get his hands dirty Good Job Grandma and Grandpa. Hey Venice do you remember which thread it was that you posted all those pretty pictures? Think back before Christmas. I need a new background picture and wanted to pick from them .
JJ, Dillion is some kid!!! Of course the hardwood border was a puzzle! LOL
I don't wanna to go out in the snow. (frownie face!) We have 2.6" so far.
did you guys notice my typos increase when the kids are YAKKIN" MY EAR OFF LOL
Yes Smiley it's vacation week.
Dillon cracks me up.
Just got back from the gym, had a really good workout!
The ladies cross-country is just finishing. I don't know how they do it! There are still some straglers on the course.
You know what I wore today outside in the snow and to scrape it off my car? I call it an old ladies hat! You know the plastic bonnet type you tie under your chin. It really can keep your head warm. I wore them in WI even when it wasn't snowing.
I have never seen snowboard cross before. They have a long intricate track. Hard to describe. It is on TV now. I am just amazed by all these Olylmpic people!
I just ordered a "Camelbak BPA Free Better Bottle" for $9.77, free shipping. They call it a bite and suck bottle. Cute! Anyway. If it falls over, the water won't spill out.
I watered the avocado trees. Then I saw Kitty up on the pot! Oh my! I know she would rather poo outside but in my avocao pot? That is a no, no!!!
