Gypsies talk of Spring

Look at my baby! It just about touches the leaf of its mamma.

I think I better transplant it today so I don't injure the leaf above it. What do you think?

I contacted the Admin. and they said that there will be some glitches for a few days. They are transfering files. Whatever!

So that is why we were having a problem attaching photos to our posts.

Good Morning!

Thank you Smiley, Flowers, Venice and JJ for the Birthday wishes...
A big smile across my face...

LOL, I slept in today, just woke up! Will be going to lunch with a couple of ladies I used to work with.
One of the ladies is having a birthday next week. Every year for the past 18 years we have lunch together and celebrate...
Yum Italian restaurant this year. For now Coffee, and lots of it!

Bummer, photo's not showing today, maybe later.

So what you working on? I started a quilt block yesterday and later will sew it together...Will take a pic too. It's my first real quilt block.
Call the honey Bee! LOL hardest part of the whole thing was choosing the fabrics!

Moon, I hope you are having a wonderful visit with DD and family...From Australia how cool!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Whew! I thought it was me for a minute!

Flowers, to get the notes, (it won't work on a laptop) hold down the 'alt' key and type 13 on the number pad to the right on your keyboard. If you want a double note type 14.

Like this: ♪ (alt 13) or this ♫ (alt 14)

When it gets really warm outside and you want to say " pfffft! it's 82° here!! "
type alt 248 to get the degree symbol. Like this: °

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Yea put your present on Seed forgot which one, think discussion one lol. Cool on the quilt will have to show us, they have a quilt tread too, may want to check it out. I tried knitting last year, but can't seem to stay still long enough to practice, so far only know how to make a long blob lol. Thanks Smiley for the tips, wrote it down this time, me and memory don't click at times. Venice, you go girl, glad to know it wasn't me.Hi JJ and Lynnie will catch ya later have phone calls to make.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Smiley, nope! My comper won't do notes or degrees that way.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Yes'm, I'm up! Got the Mug O' Joe, too.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Lynnie, believe it or not but I am up! I have to take Kitty to vet for regular check up early this morning. I am waiting for my apt to warm up before I get in the shower. I am having hot Carnation Instant Breakfast Chocolate (sugar free) right now. Mmmm

See you girls later!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Good morning Venice!
mmm! DD has those for breakfast too.

good luck at the vet!

(Zone 5b)

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Morning,

Good luck with kitty Venice.

Lynnie, Smiley pour me a cup.
Mines on but not done.....

(Zone 5b)

here ya go JJ!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

MMMM thanks I needed that.
Oh I now have ceiling.
How is the bedroom coming?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, you have a real ceiling!!! Hurrah!!

About Kitty. She hates riding in the car and howled all the way. She got her shots and temperature taken. She was pretty good other than jumping on the top of the upper cabinets and getting into the lower cabinets and then she didn't want out. I talked to the Vet about her going crazy and digging her claws into me, always knocking my water over on my desk no matter what I use, she cries in the bathroom when she can't find any water in the tub or sink, and she has been knocking over my plant. She suggested to call the feral place and see if someone there can give me some ideas (free). Also, there is a pet guru you might say. I would fill out a form and then he would make suggests over the phone (at least $100). I could get another laid-back cat who is familiar with other pets and maybe Kitty will get the idea what a cat is like. She is nothing like the feral cats that they tame and make good pets on Animal Planet. So there you have it!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I was spraying for gnats every 2-3 days. I sprayed twice yesterday, in the afternoon and late in the evening. There weren't many flying in the evening. I guess that is when they go and lay eggs in the dirt then. I thought for sure the double dose would do it. Not yet!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

No way would I pay someone to give me advice over the phone especially when they have never seen the cat.
But that is me...

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, my Vet says the pets she sees have good results. She also mentioned a pet communicator. I told her I have seen them on TV and I don't think much about that. She kind of rolled her eyes also. I am interested in paying for any help with her! But I have read a lot of things on the computer before and none of it was any help.

Lunch time!!!

(Zone 5b)

Venice can they give kitty a calmer downer?
the bedroom is coming slowly, dh is very methodical and slow! I'm a rush in there and get 'er done type, but he takes his time and is very picky. Drives me nuts *grin*
He wants to just put sheetrock over the popcorn ceiling. I was thinking scrape it off and smooth that stuff over.....he said it's like stucco....I don't care I'll let him pick. I told him I could scrape the ceiling myself while he was at work....he didn't much care for that idea lol

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Lynnie, I tried giving Kitty Tea Calmer pills that I got from the Vet. I gave them to her for 2 weeks and couldn't tell the difference.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Lynnie I can sympathize with you over the picky and taking their time. Mine is only as far as it is BECAUSE DH hasn't been working anywhere else this week. This time of year they don't cut many trees or do any roofs, or tear down any building( jack of all trades).
thought he was going to cut wood today but boss was sick and didn't want DH out cutting by himself, so didn't have to go.

Seems I read somewhere once to take a spray bottle of water and get the popcorn wet and it will scrape right off. Probably very messy if it works.
DH says he thinks there is some kind of stuff you can buy to spray on it to take it off.

Venice hope you find something to calm down kitty.

Kitchen update...

Blue jean insulation, this stuff is really weird you can actually see some of the threads in it and you have to cut it with scissors if you try to use utility knife it just shreds and makes a blob.

Thumbnail by jjsgramma
Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, I had no idea how it would be. I was thinking maybe it would be more like blown in newspaper bits. But that is cool that is comes in batts.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Oh no what happened to my picture?

Here Lynnie watch this.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Venice I will try the insulation picture again
It comes in batts just like regular insulation, has no paper vapor barrier you cover it with plastic.

Weird going on here

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, kind of weird. It said to keep your eye on the bubble. And I thought, I don't see a bubble. Then there it went!!!!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Yea Venice it was weird. Would be neat if it always worked that way. I think they got real lucky..

Lynnie show DH how easy it is.

(Zone 5b)

we watched it JJ, very good video! it's funny how hated popcorn ceilings are, lol, me, I never look up but I want them all done for the future.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Seems a lot of the older popcorn has abestos in it, so might want to have it checked first.

I never pay any attention to them ( I only have one) until I notice the dust stuck on it and try to get it off. What a pain...

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, yes you don't want to beathe in any abestos dust or fiber. It is like razor blades going in your lungs.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

They are interviewing Apolo Ohno next in the Olympics previews. He is such a great speed skater but he is so cute also!

(Zone 5b)

we're watching too

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Lynnie DH says he is to busy to go out.
Guess it's left overs.
