I am not sure where my therapist got her info but she said that people who love and tend to plants really are people lovers. I have to fully agree cause I love all of you. This is family at its best. :o)

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)

becky.. do you have any society garlic left???

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)

I think your right about that.. gardeners are nuturing people at heart and its not a play on words..lol..

New Waverly, TX(Zone 8b)

I'm going to do my final digging today, so if you would check my list to make sure I have all requests, I would appreciate it. If there are further requests, LMK.

I, like the rest of you have had back surgery. It left me with a permanent disability. I can still do everything, but it takes me twice as long.

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)

" I can still do everything, but it takes me twice as long."

can that be our groups motto??..lol

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Annette_M may I please have some Zig-zag Iris, Triplet Lily and if you still have one of the roses (The Fairy)

I may have an air potato I will check for you.

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

Annette....I neglected to ask for the Triplet Lily....if you still have some available...please? Thanks!

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

Kathleen......MMMM MMM MMMM....motorcycle collisions usually mean the MC rider gets the worst end of the deal. I've been involved in only one collision on a MC....very lucky I wasn't hurt badly. Messed up my new bike though!

According to the police,...the wrecker hit me at 80 - 85 mph (his speedometer was stuck on 85)......made my Chevy Lumina literally fly through the air....almost landed on another car. Was dead at the scene and Houston's finest paramedics resuscitated me....God had other plans for me.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Quote from blkraven2 :
" I can still do everything, but it takes me twice as long."

can that be our groups motto??..lol

I second that motto

New Waverly, TX(Zone 8b)

Here,here on the motto!

Lee and Sandi, got you down!

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)

Lee... yours sounds like mine.. I died twice and was brought back, like you some one has other plans for me..it wasnt my time.. air lifted between hospitals cause I was hurt so bad.. the truck nailed me at 45 MPH and I flew or so I was told.. I have no memory of getting hit cause I never saw it coming.. Ive had 10 surgerys so far and more to come.. and yes I still ride..Ive lost a lot over the last 10 yrs so I flat out dug in my heels crossed my arms and refused to let fear take away something I love.. so yeah Im a tad on the crazy side..lol..

okay everyone... on the Motto...do we need to get tee shirts made so we can wear them at the fall round up???..lol...

Annette...Ill take some of both if you can spare it..

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

OH Annette.. I would LUV the Elephant garlic and the bouncing bet. Please.. if there's nothing i can bring you, tell me your fav potting soil or something??!!

New Waverly, TX(Zone 8b)

Sandi, that's funny! Thing is, people will probably think it's our age. I can just see it - they will think it's an "Old Folks" get together!

Got you and Sandi down.

Back out to dig!

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)

thank you!!! Im on my break too.. work 30 mins, rest 15 then do it again...lol..

New Waverly, TX(Zone 8b)

Lots of soapwart, but running low on E. garlic.

Becky, you are the last E. garlic.

New Waverly, TX(Zone 8b)

Hahaha! Too much rest makes me LAZY!

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

OH MY.. Lee and Kathleen.. y'all really had it rough. I am so glad the Lord had other plans for both of you!! My oldest brother was severely head injured in a MC accident... coma for 6 months, but the Lord wasn't finished with him either. He never was the same of course, but he lived for 23 years after that accident, and about killed me cause he became like my child more than my brother.

hey Kathleen.. I 3rd that motto..LOL

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Kathleen.. got you down for the society garlic

Thanks Annette.. what do you need?? tell me!!..LOL

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)

its 5 yrs today since Ive been hurt and its been an interesting journey.. Im one of the lucky ones and I say thank you Lord every day..

okay breaks over.. back out side for me!!!

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Bouncing Betty please. What can I bring you Annette?

Overweight, over the hill and bad back here. Need a shirt for that? Nah! Shh don't tell anyone, let'em guess.

But, you know what? Life is good! God is good and I love gardening, work a little, rest a lot, and start all over again. Sit in the swing and look at the flowers, the birds, the butterflies, and the bees, that is what makes me smile and get up and go again.

Life is too short to miss out on all of the great things you get to enjoy when you garden, talk about gardening, and share your bounty.

Charlene

Houston, TX

you guys are awesome! but i'm sorry to hear about all the pain and accidents. surely gardening is the best therapy.

blkraven, i forgot to ask for a bearded iris, if you have any left. also, annete m, the soapwart sounds interesting. i would love to put one in my herb garden.

i can't believe all the new plants i'm going to be getting!! :)

beck5711 and ilovejesus99, i will have some yelllow irises for you.

Houston, TX

sorry ceejaytown, but i don't seem to have the option to edit my trade page. on the current thread, i see the option to edit my own entries, but not on the trade page. maybe i'm missing something.

beck5711, i would be happy with an orange kalanchoe.

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)

Il have plenty for you ginger girl...dont know what color they are cause I got them from a frined and he didnt know but Im betting they are white

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

Heather - just a little warning - bearded irises just don't do well here. They either just flat out die, or they struggle a little first, and then they die. Bummer. Now, Louisiana irises is another matter - they do great!

Houston, TX

ok - scratch the bearded iris (sorry blkraven2). i don't want (too much) extra work for myself. I already have tons of baby plants in the ground, not to mention two human babies, and two feline babies, all need my constant attention. but i would love a louisiana iris, if you are trying to sell me on one, cj! :)

also, i saw someone had posted a passiflora. if that's still available i would love that too. i hope i'm not getting in over my head!

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)

My iris are doing great!!! maybe its cause youre in a different zone CJ, Im farther north than you...
ginger girl take some anyway and try.. its not like its costing you anything...lol..stick it in the ground.. see what happens... dont baby it and if it dies then we both have learned something...lol.

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)

I have a lot and I mean a lot of the red suprise lillies...Lycoris radiata any one want some??

New Waverly, TX(Zone 8b)

Carolyn, are you trying to say that L. Iris gorw like weeds? I have some, three or four colors, but they have integrated. Maybe I would have them for a fall RU, or if someone is in the neighborhood, for the digging after I Identify the color.

Charlene, no trade necessary, but I will look over your list. I have you and ginger-girl down. for soapwart. I will update my trade list later tonight, or very early in the morning.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

I have bearded iris also and they may not have spread but they do bloom.
I think mine are under watered, The ones in pots look great.

blkraven2 I would love any after ginger_girl gets some. I love iris and daylily along with every other flower I see. Even some first time weeds in my yard got my attention. Beautiful colors :o)

Willis, TX(Zone 9a)

Ginger-girl & ilovejesus99--both you both covered

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

Let's all bring ginger_girl a Louisiana iris - that way she'll have a selection! Yes, I will be happy to bring you some beautiful purplish blue, or is it bluish purple, La iris. They are a named variety, but I lost the name some years back in a move.

Back to the edit maneuver: If you are going to the second post above where I have the links to the various trade posts, you'll need to add a step. Click on the link, and it will open in a window, but there won't be an edit provision. You'll need to go to the top of the page and click on RU Trades. That will take you to your list and you can then edit it.

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)

"i can't believe all the new plants i'm going to be getting!! :)"

Ohh.GG. youll be coming home with a lot more than you think..thats the way RUs are...loll... youll see the pots of stuff noone wanted and think I cant leave that there and suddenly your truck is fuller than what it was when you got there. then you get to plant it when you get home..

make sure you bring some crates or boxes to carry your babies home.. also a lawn chair is nice to have..

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

I would bring you a L Iris but I don't own any of them yet :o( But believe me I will one day. You all have made me see that no matter how bad things get my addiction will never be curable. That is fine with me.

My DS wants me too cut down my wisteria I let take over a Tallow tree...I told him nope I like it. He told my 2 Granddaughters he would mow everything down if he owed it.....Well that is just what makes it mine and not his. I love my plants. Funny how some people can't see it is less yard to mow even. lol

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Heather.. I am assume you are ginger girl ? No.. the Kalonchoe is something I'm giving you.. no trades.. so you have to pick out something else you'd like..K??

Carolyn.. no fair.. I don't have LA Iris.. what do they look like? The regular Iris?

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)

Ive got some of what Im not sure if they are LA iris or what they call ditch lilies . I was looking at them today and I could thin them if anyone wants any.. once again they were a rescue effort.. I dug them up from a old garden that was going to be bulldozed..the house was built in the 30s that they were found at but who know they could be some really rare or unknown LA Iris and then wed all have some and be famous!...lol..

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

LOL Kathleen.. I have the ditch lilies, and they have the leaves that droop down... I am figuring the LA Iris look like regular Iris?? Man.. I wish I could find an old place like that around here.. I'd be in Heaven, and go crazy!!

I'm also adding 2 pots of Yellow Daylilies.. they are NOID, and very old... 2 Kong series Rose Coleus and 2 Versa Crimson Gold Coleus. These are actually NOID's too..lol... but they look like these named ones

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)

I was told you cant tell the difference till they bloom and these have not bloomed..yet...the foilage is very up right so if you want some Ill dig them up for ya! lots of time when I find stuff I put it in pots till I can find a place to plant it// the first 2 yrs I was here I had a holding bed just for my finds..Id pot them up then counter sink the pot to hold it till I had a place for it..

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

Well, OK Becky. La iris for you too. :-)

I believe that ditch lilies refer to the orange daylily that grows "wild". I have some of the variety called "Kwanso" - which is a triple and a very pretty bright orange with red markings in the center. Daylily leaves tend to flex in an arc, like a fountain, while iris leaves grow more upright and stiffer, almost at a 45 degree angle to the stalk. I guess I should really go look at them before I say that, but that's how I have it pictured in my mind.

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

nooo.. Carolyn.. I swear i wasn't begging for any LA Iris..LOL... just that I couldn't get into the partay of giving any

Yeah.. I have both, and I call the single orange the ditch, and the kwanso, but I do believe some people call the tiger lilies the ditch also. I think you're right on the money trying to describe the dl's and iris!
