Gulf Coast RU trades

Houston, TX

ok blkraven2, twist my arm!

thanks everyone for your onslaught of plants. i tried to tell my husband before that i wasn't addicted. but when he sees what i come home with, he definitely won't believe me anymore!

there is only one problem... i can't be at the round up for the whole time. i have two children under the age of three, and even though my husband is a great husband and father, he simply cannot handle both children at the same time for more than an hour or so (if that!). i will get there in the morning and stay through lunch. i hope that will give me a chance to meet everyone. oh and i will try to bring something for the pot luck too.

i look forward to meeting everyone!

sapphirestar19, I have you down for the soapwart.

You might try Joseph's Nursery, there. They have huge greenhouses, in case you haven't been there yet. They have all kinds of stuff.

Pearland, TX

I think Maas Nursery has it too. The trick is going to be getting down there.

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

Got you down for the Lavender Scallops, Sandi!

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Does anyone need multiplying onions? They really do multiply quickly.

Dear Friends,

My yellow iris bloomed this morning! I am pretty sure then, that it is not really an iris, but a dietes (also called a south african iris or butterfly iris). Here is a picture of the flower. It also makes a nice grass-like clump about 3 feet high and a couple feet in diameter... at least that's the size at my house. i just divided them and i have a ton, and still only two takers?

I would love one! :-)

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Are multiplying onions edible?

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)

ggirl.. me!!! me!!! (waving my hand) I love those!!! but only if you have enough for who ever else wants some

Houston, TX

omg - i have a ton of them. how many do you want?

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

GG - I'm sorry, the butterfly iris are beautiful, but I already have two clumps that I need to divide. And really dreading it. :-(

blkraven - If you have any Lycoris radiata left, I'd like some. I already have a very small patch of them, but they are beautiful in the fall, and I can think of several places to introduce another patch of them...

I WISH I had room for an Alocasia calidora, but I just don't.

I'm gonna take a walk around outside and see if I can squeeze anything else in.

DH dug up a couple of small (not too small) nandinas that have really lacy leaves, and we are thinking of digging up a bulrush (now, where did that come from?) in our screened-in pool area. I like the form, and the spiky "leaves"...but we need to get to a skimmer just past it. Don't know which it is...but here's a photo. The "blooms" are about half way up on the spiky "leaves". Photo following. I am quite sure it would love a boggy area, although mine isn't.

I can also offer a native - speedwell, the groundcover. Here's a photo of it just past its prime. It was covered in blue flowers for about a month.

I found a little water oak - about 3 1/2 to 4 feet tall that is way too close to a rose bush. If anyone wants it, we will try to dig it up and pot it up for you... Otherwise, it has to go in the trash.

cee jay..Ill bring you a bag of the red suprise lillies.. no problemo.. if you dig up the bullrush I could use it in my bog area Im working on and Ill take some speed well if you want to get rid of it. unless someon wants it..
G Girl.. Il ltake what ever youd like to share.. thanks!!
