CJ - I have Cooper's Rain lily (Cooperia drummondi), Prairie Lily (Zeph. drummondi),

The only edible things I can think of that are native, you probably have or don't want. I have plenty of wild blackberries, or maybe they are dewberries, not sure. I have lots of maypop (pasiflora incarnata). There are probably others, I just can't think of them. I have 54 acres and friends around with more, so help me out here and name something that you can think of wanting. I don't have paw paw, but would like to have that also LOL.
Mostly, what natives I have are flowering plants, and I am not sure if some of them are edible or not. I'd have to check that out.
CJ, I would love to have a few of your yellow rain lilies also if you have extra. Is there anything on my list for your interests?
charlene - I am holding off until I see what is still alive. I have a lot of sub-tropicals, and they may be root hardy, maybe not. So I can't exactly say what I want or what I have just yet. I have only so much space, too. But I do know I have rain lilies.
I will be delivering any items that anyone wants to give to Dave and Trish for their housewarming. They have a brand new home and I really hope that we can all show them how much we appreciate them for building this great site. When a young couple builds a new home usually their friends give the housewarming. Where else have they had time to make friends but here on DG? Let's reward them well and don't forget the kids. Gardening items are really wanted as Trish says she has no plants at the new home.
I will post here everything that is being brought for delivering to them.
I think it would be better for you to start a new thread - one that everyone can see. I'm sure there are many that would love to send something to Trish and Dave that won't be looking at this thread. Unless you're trying to hide it...

I'm not sure at the moment...I will think about it and post.I like just about everything unusual that will grow in our area without a lot of fuss. We are on 10 acres, heavily wooded except maybe an acre and a half that is "developed". I am expanding some of my flower beds, both sun and shade, but at the moment I have no room! I just have an abundance of some things to give away.
Last fall, I ended up throwing a lot of stuff in the woods.
I dont know what Ill be bringing plant wise for trades but Ill have painted stone plant markers, some ee castings and some cement containers good for suculents or herbs... if I get the chance or someone wants one Ill make some stepping stones for trade..So speak up if anyone wants some of what Ive got already and well worry about what I get in return after you see what you have left from the cold snap..
editied ... I also have some hand made onion and garlic storage baskets. they hang on a loop, are open weave style. They are good for storing flower bulbs too!

I think you said you wanted rose cuttings.. I have some antique roses.. ones a China green, ones called kathleen which is a cascading shrub and looks like an apple blossom, a climber in pink called pink parasol, one of the David Austins thats a pale yellow, oklahoma which is red, some Weeks brand roses in yellow, peach and white.. tell me when and how to take the cuttings and Ill bring you some of them... I have a few others but cant remember the names of them

As you can see, I'm starting with a clean pallet, so I'll take any leftovers. And Annette, please don't throw anything in the woods just yet. My plan is for most of this side of the yard to be in gardens. I have some banana trees and EE's (if they come back out) that I will put around the pond. I still have to finish the pond, by the way.
My wish list is just about anything I can get, but especially some daylilies, ginger, and other butterfly/hummer attractors.
How to take cuttings
The easiest part of the rose to root is the tip of stems that have recently bloomed. Ideally, these tips have withered flowers, or hips, beginning to form. The flower heads or hips should be removed down to the first set of healthy leaves. Cuttings should be 6 to 8 inches long and be cut from the parent plant with a sharp knife or pruning shears at about a 45 degree angle. It is important that the cuttings not be allowed to dry out or be exposed to extreme heat or cold, at least until they are stuck into the rooting medium. Experienced old rose collectors often carry styrofoam ice chests, plastic bags, a small amount of water, and ice if they are likely to be in very hot conditions before getting the cuttings to the rooting area. Cuttings may be stored for several days in this manner, if necessary, but the sooner they are stuck, the better.
