Lee, if it will help, I am willing to share!

Here's the info on the triplet lily, they came from here several years ago.

Humble, TX

Lee, I got you down for the sweet herb. You have lots of tempting things, but I'll take a rain check if that's ok. I will be buying a new house within the next month or so and moving and I already have WAY too many plants that I am taking with me. I keep telling myself, "this RU is just for sharing what I have and seeing all my friends, not taking lots of things home!"

On second thought, if you have any milkweed seedlings, my students this year had so much fun watching the monarch caterpillars and the lawn guys at school weed wacked my classroom garden and killed the milkweed plants I had. I think my yard at home is too heavily mulched to get seedlings and the ones I have from last year look dead.

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

Well,...when you get moved...and another RU comes along that you can attend,...we'll catch up then! I think I have a Silky Red
Butterfly Weed that will be good for that! The cats are always feasting on them each year....strippin' the leaves. The plants bounce back by the fall. Good to share with Mother Nature!

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

If any of you are into succulents.....I have a Kalanchoe (Lavender Scallops) (K. fedtshenkoi variegata) that I can share some of ....just let me know.

The new growth start out a cream color.... then becomes variegated and later..... as it matures,....the "leaves" become a bluish geen with creamy margins/edge. This photo show a little of each.

Deb

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

Welcome ginger_girl! I've linked your trade page and added you to the list of attendees. You've come to the right place to get started in your new garden. We hate to throw things away, but we LOVE to give them away! Look at my trade page - nothing required as a trade.

Willis, TX(Zone 9a)

Ginger Girl, I have several kalanchoe (red blossoms) you can have, also have beautyberry (native) growing in several places in my yards and some amaryliss. No trade needed. Just let me know how many of what to pot up. Jan

New Waverly, TX(Zone 8b)

I don't need trades, either. I just hate to throw things away. If I have something listed that anyone wants, please let me know. I have been really busy, so I am only digging what is asked for. I should have extra of those.

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Just added Vibirnum, Mayapples, Farkleberry/Huckleberry, and 1 spider lily... take a look and see if i can bring anyone anything

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

May I have a spider lily, Becky?

I'll be adding to my trade list tomorrow... I finally got the front gardens cleared enough of weeds to see what is in there. Next I need to face the jungle in the back yard... Eek!

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Sure thing Marilyn!! I put you down.. That's what I've been trying to do.. but the leaves keep coming back.. grrrr..LOL... We have several Red Oaks, and they keep hanging on to some of their leaves. Makes it impossible to get every one out of the mulch. Are y'all finding not as much is coming back after the bad winter we all had?

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

I'm surprised at how much HAS come back. Sure, I lost quite a few things, and still waiting to see on some, but several things have surprised me.

Does anyone have any Achimenes to share?

Please look at my list. We are probably going to pot up only those things asked for...
BTW, the elderberries are looking fantastic.

Houston, TX

blkraven 2 - yes, please on the horsetail! also, i would love some lamb's ear and lemon balm.

Jan, i would love some kalanchoe (1 or 2?), a beauty berry and maybe 5 amaryllis or as many as you can spare?

and i don't know how this whole thing works. how do we find each other? this will be my first plant swap.

also, does anyone know what is the best way for me to store the iris/dietes rhizomes before next week?

thanks so much!

heather (ginger girl)

Houston, TX

marylyn, i would like one of those red yuccas (that are not yuccas) if you have any left.

ceejaytown - i would love some of the white zephyranthes

also, i just realized that i have some orange bulbine to trade if anyone wants. i will only pot those up if asked. i tried to add this to my trade page but didn't know how.

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

Welcome ginger_girl......com'on and have some fun with us....meet some new friends! I'll have a Red TxStar Hibiscus seedling or two for you - no trade necessary! See ya there! Lee

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Annette.. since you said you hate to throw things away..LOL.. can I ask for some of the zigzag Iris?? That is pretty!! I'd love to trade if there is something you see you'd like of mine!! Thanks again!!

Ginger gilr.. I have a small Kolanchoe if you'd like.. it's a pretty orange. I'd also like to ask for the dietes please? I guess you could either pot them up, or i would think they'd do ok just throwing them in a walmart bag, if you dig them up not too long before the RU. Look at my list for something to trade

Anyone really know about those Dietes??..LOL

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

I have several of the not-a-yuccas, ginger_girl, and you are welcome to one/many of them! :-) I'll put you down.

Put a name on your pre-arranged trades (writing on a popsicle stick or plastic knife and then sticking it in the pot works well!) When you get to the park, find any empty place at a table, and lay out your stuff. Then peruse the tables (there are always plenty of extra plants looking for new homes!) and look at everyone's nametags. As you recognize names from your list, say "Hey! You're CJ! (Or it could be Sheila... they're secretly twins.) I have something for you!" Gallop back to your table, get your labeled plant, and give it to CJ (or Sheila.) Any unlabeled plant ON the table, is usually up for grabs, but check first. :-)

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

buddywillistx I would love some amaryllis (one of my top favorites) and a beauty berry if you have more than one.

ginger_girl may I have some yellow irises please

Becky I am finding a lot more not coming back than I thought. It really saddens me. Between Rita, Ike, the freeze and them thinking I have a torn Rotator cuff I feel like throwing in the towel. If I do I will throw a come dig up whats left party for DGers. All anyone will need is to bring dirt to fill in the holes.

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Thanks Marilyn for adding that info for even me!!

ginger girl.. I like to use a used set of the vinyl blinds, cut them up in strips, and you'll have gobs of the plant markers! I use a pencil to mark them with, and so far, after 2 years the writing is still good on the ones i have in the yard here.

Sandy.. I hear you since we had the same things happen here, and with 3 ruptured disks in my back, I hear you on that too. I did have Cervical surgery a year ago this past December that took care of 2 , but i still have the 3 in the lower and middle back.Pain is my middle name every day, but i still keep chugging along.. or try to..LOL.. don't give up, even though I know it's hard!

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

Be sure to write down what the plant is, and who it is for. It's nice to know who it's from too..It cuts down on a lot of the 'after the RU' questions. Yes, there will be a thread for the questions too. :-)

White rain lilies for Heather...

Oh - to edit your trade list, just click on the "edit" in the left border. It will show up in a new window. Then make your changes, and click on send. That's it.

It's always nice, if you make additional edits, to highlight and delete the previous edit dates at the bottom of the post.

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

I can echo the sentiment about the "pain is my middle name" comment Becky (and Sandy)....I suffer from the same condition,...thanks to a good ol' 1 ton wrecker on the rampage that tried to take me out....broadside.
I have to be careful when managing my larger pots to keep from aggravating the problem....but workin' with my plants makes me feel better.....as does associating with good folks who enjoy the same thing

RU is only a week & a half away....YEA

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Thanks Becky and Willis :o) I also have a failed back surgery of the lumbar that slows me down but I have had such a large list of things I need to do and I really thought this spring would be finally the one I could accomplish them. But oh well it will have to wait longer.

I don't think I could ever just give up as plants make me so happy. I have been through a lot like the rest of you and I don't think I could ever really give them up. I would never give up my family here and I love to share so there we go....I will keep on trucking.

Becky I found a supply of 1 gallon pots. I will dmail you.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)
