Thought for the Day Level #6

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

DP,
You crack me up every time!

A day without chocolate is like a day without sunshine.

On your second "thought". If I could remember how old I am I'd probably brag about it too. : - )

Here's one to go along with your "stressed" and "desserts."

Did you ever notice that "listen" and "silent" are made up of the same letters? There's something profound hiding in there. . .

Can I join your chocoholics group? Every time I read this thread, I eventually have to go dig a piece of chocolate out of my secret stash. LOL

If you could choose one characteristic that would get you through life, choose a sense of humor. (and a chocolate bar)

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Good one, DP.
Anyone can join our Chocolate (aholics') Club. Let's just admit it, we love chocolate, and are proud of it!
LOL! Easter is coming up soon, chocolate will be going on sale! LOL!

I'm really not much of a chocolate fan. I just thought there was a need for a place to talk about it. I do like Snickers bars though.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

It's okay DP, we still like you. ; - )

"I believe in laughter. Laughter that chortles, burbles, and finally erupts into body-shaking joy. The kind of laughter that occurs when its not supposed to--- you know, unexpectedly during a really serious meeting, or when sadness takes a mirthful turn. There is always the hilarious absurd chance encounter with people you don't know, or a situation that calls for decorum, but you just can't help yourself."

Gosh, kwan, some really great sayings.

It is said among the Native American Community, that at a Pow Wow, everyone participates. You may not be able to drum, sing or dance, but you can still feel the beat of the drum, hum along, and watch all the beautiful dancers. Without someone to appreciate their beauty, the ceremony would be less meaningful, so those who watch are just as important as those who drum, sing or dance.

I find myself missing Ronald Reagan, DP.

kwan, laughter is always good. That sure is a cute kid in your last post. Any relation? : - )

Hi all, enjoyed reading the many Great quotes. Here are a few of my favorites, remember them but don't know who quoted them:

"Gardening means believing in tomorrow"

"The best fertilizer is a gardener's shadow"

"God answers knee-mail."

"Sorrow looks behind,
Worry looks around,
Faith looks up."

"Yesterday is history,
Tomorrow is a mystery,
Today is a gift."

And last: THINK before you speak

T..is it true
H..is it helpful
I..is it inspirational
N..is it necessary
K..is it kind

Have a wonderful day all.

Really enjoyed your thoughts, Bareroots, especially that last one.
DP, you always crack me up! When you don't make me think deep thoughts, that is.

I don't really have a thought today, but the photo has one for me.
Enjoy!

One more from 'Uncle Barry':

"It's a great country, where anybody can grow up to be president... except me."
~Barry Goldwater~

I was fortunate enough to be able to meet and speak with Goldwater in '82 when he was running for re-election to the Senate. The man had an incredible sense of humor. If he'd not been in politics he could certainly have been a stand-up comic.....like a George Carlin or Dennis Miller.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Good one DP. I always admired Mr. Goldwater.

Another photo from the motel we stayed at one night along the coast. They had a beautiful garden. This is from part of it.

It's my thought for the day.
Enjoy!

That last sign should be applied to spouses and dear friends. We need to take good care of them.

Not to mention children and parents too. I really had a great time in that garden and as soon as I find the time I'm going to post a thread on Rebecca's Garden. Which is where I found those last two signs.

My thought for today is, I'm grateful to have good friends and time to spend with them.
