Heard this on TV last night and just love it.
Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul - and sings the tunes without the words - and never stops at all.

Thought for the Day Level #6
Garden Rule: When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Been there, done that. More rain tomorrow. I think the world axis moved more than they are reporting. DU, DU, DU, DU, DU,

I was in an indoor farmer's market yesterday. Very neat place, as I'd never been to this particular one. A woman with 2 small children passed me and this is what happened after...
The boy wandered past mom to look at a box of cereal with a panda on it. Mom says, "No. Stay." She looked at other cereal boxes and, when finished, said, "Come." The boy followed her around the corner. I followed them to hear what would happen next. I was thinking she, momentarily, forgot these were human children and not dogs. No...The boy started to look at something else on a shelf and mom again said, "Stay." The girl, meantime, began to squat to the floor to look at some candy there. Mom said, "NO!!! Stay!" Then, to both..."Come!"
Now...my thoughts are this...if you want children, should you not treat them like children? If you wanted dogs, why did you have children?
My thought for the day.
"Be careful what you plant, now; it will determine what you will reap tomorrow. The seeds you now scatter will make life worse or better for you or for the ones who will come after you. Someday you will enjoy the fruits or you will pay for the choices you make."
Wisdom is knowing what to do next, skill is knowing how to do it, and virtue is doing it.
David Starr Jordan
I like that one!
Reputation is what men and women think of us; character is what God and angels know of us.
Good one, DP.
Kwanjin, just to make you feel better after that experience, I ran into the exact opposite recently while shopping. This mother used every opportunity to teach her child and involve him in what she was doing. Instead of constantly saying no, she would give him choices so he had a little power over what was going on. Of course, they were both good choices, but he didn't know that! He was a busy little boy, but she had the patience of a saint (or is that mother?). Maybe cloning wouldn't be so bad if we could choose the subjects! LOL
Good ones imapigeon and DP!
KC, your post gives me hope!
"One of the world's most amazing miracles is how far our true friends will go to give us the gifts we really need. And as only our truest friends could, they often give, without being asked, the thing we most need but could never ask for."

KC, I did need something nice to wash the bad taste out of my mouth. And my brain, what little of it left that there is! LOL

And, I just found this one...

Both good ones, kwan.
Sun Tsu has it right. That's why diplomats were invented. LOL!
So does Bruce Lee. Balance, it's all about balance.

Moderation, balance, wisdom...I live by them. The wisdom part is the hardest but I have/had good teachers. I've been lucky.
"Begin each day with a jolt of truth."
All you need in this life is ignorance and confidence, and then success is sure.

Ain't that the truth! LOL
Hey, I'm still working on tolerance and patience. I do better some days than others, but I try.
kwan, if it's okay, can the truth wait until I have my cup of hot choc? LOL!
Sweet, imapigeon, I've always liked Mark Twain.
This is for all the friends I've made all over the world because of DG, and the path that brought me here.
"Friends are together when they are separated, they are rich when they are poor, strong when they are weak, and -- a thing even harder to explain -- they live on after they have died,
so great is the honor that follows them, so vivid the memory, so poignant the sorrow."
~Cicero~
This one is a lovely commentary on life and friendship.
"One of the best things about having a true friend is that no matter how far away they are, how long it has been since you've spoken, or how much has happened in each of your lives, they are never really gone from your heart. They always remain a part of your life -- whether you see them every day or only when they drift in and out through the years."

Wow I got lost for quite a while. I am back now and will try not to loose you all again. I have a lots of reading to do.
I posted this on the food thread for the round up but it fits my mood today.
Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first.
Stressed spelled backwards is desserts. Coincidence? I think not!
LOL Very true, Marie. I don't have a quote for today. I am, however, making flan today and plan on having it BEFORE dinner. LOL
That woul be my favorite desert after that anything chocolate makes me happy :o)
If there's no chocolate in heaven, I'm not going.
I had a thought yesterday, but I lost it.
Today, I'm so happy to hear that Miguel (new DG Admin.) will be coming to the Round Up with his family that I'm, like flying.

Marie, I like it! I never thought about stressed being desserts spelled backwards. For someone who types backwards sometimes, you'd think I'd have picked up on it! LOL!
I'm sure Heaven has chocolate, or I'm not going either!

I am still not over my chocolate at the moment.
There's nothing better than a good friend, except a good friend with chocolate.
Ah Marie, so close.
It should be, " There's nothing better than a good friend, except a good friend with chocolate who shares. LOL!
Can we still be friends if I prefer white chocolate? : - )
WIB!
SW
We sure can I love white chocolate. I was probably the only kid who looked forward to a white Easter bunny in my basket :o)
Everyone has a price - mine is chocolate. ( or plants that grow from bulbs) :o)
I prefer white choco, too. ^_^ Doesn't Reeses have a white chocolate peanutbutter cup? Mmm...
I don't know about the Reeses, but a friend has a recipe for a white chocolate cheesecake. It tastes like heaven. I'll try to get the recipe for you all. LOL!
