Great shots!
Coffee Break #31 - Super Bowl Edition
Cute series Allison! That must be scary knowing there is a bear around. I would worry about the dogs going after it.
thank you all... yeah and my two yorkies think they are pits!!!
victorgardener : several years ago a kids found nothing better to do than climb into my holly tree in my front yard and to go and disturb the cardinals that were nesting there. I came out with my male Samoyed which was an impressive 125lbs on leash, treaten the little mongrel that I was not letting come down from the tree and that I was going to stay there until I was good and ready to let him come down .The dog's look was enought to make anyone think twice. The dog was more interested into being petted than take a bite out of anyone, the little monster did not know that . I Made him sit in the tree for 45minutes then I escorted him to his house and had a talk with his mom who was not amused and I never saw him again . I must mention that I also told him also that the next time he would deal with my dog not me. The dog never was out in the front yard , but he did not know that because we have a 6 foot fenced back yard and that's where the dog used to go only for his business and come right back in. Not a outdoorsy dog at all...
Great story, orchid! Thanks.
Moral of the story, Victor, get a dog! lol
Great pics Allison.
I thought it was to get a holly so I can trap him.
Or train the cats to attack.
I have three cats. BabyBoo that I caught watch a mouse drink out of the dog dish at midnight. Lucie who plays with them and hope that they go away but dont kill them, so I have to rescue the frightened mouse into a trash can and trow it out, and then Jade that will catch the mouse and leave me a puddle of blood on the floor to clean up no leftovers... she did it twice.Baby Boo is dangerous only if a stranger tries to pick him up (the vet for example) . He is not allowed to go to there without me escorting him the whole time or he becomes a terror for everybody...So long as I am around the vet can do anything he wants...
Gas prices...why are they so high right now????
$2.61 for regular...what's it at everywhere else?
Sheesh 90 min delayed opening and we missed the stinkin' bus! She picks up right in front of the house and she came early, ya think she would have honked or something.

I assume you mean $2.61!! $2.88 here.
Oh yeah, oops. I'd be very happy with $1.61
Let me fix that.
2.73 here! Our schools were closed! Can't figure out why, all the roads are clear...
Wow - just priced a Disney package through AAA for a week in the summer. 35% higher than just three years ago! Hasn't Mickey heard about the recession??
lol... I called to see if I could add another day and they wanted(just for an extra hotel night mind you) $590!!!!!!!! HELLO!!!!! Are you flippin' kidding me??!!!! For one night!!!!!
Wow - sounds like a Spitzer evening.
Go to Ohio & visit Cedar Point lots of rolor coasters for Adults & Snoopy land for the kids. Admitly perhaps not exciting but easier on the budget. Stop at baseball hall of fame on the way west.
There are a lot of other day trips near by too.
Thanks, Lucy. We have to mull it over. We're considering Quebec too.
Change that to thanks, Lucies!
If you head out this way, d-mail me and I'll get info to you.
Thanks!
J-2 lives nearby so she can tell you more. Montreal was fun when we were near the '76 Olympics. Did not see them but went to EXp0 '67. Shows how long ago that was. Bed & Breakfast was nice.
She got her post in before I got mine.
i actually remember that trip!
You must have been very young!

Love the bird shots allison! They do look kissable!
thanks glad someone agrees!!!
Jen, Philly offers get away nights, sometimes very reasonable, Holly and I stayed in the Sheraton on the water front there on the cheap a few years ago. The place was impressive, the amenities grand, walking distance to the old market district , and some of the better restaurants. Worth a check! Ric
Newport, RI is always a fav getaway of mine! Gas here in town is $2.81---which is why I head to the cities either north or south of us, & get it for $2.65. Had a bad gas explosion in central CT on Sun.---5 workers lost, one of whom was from our small town. the company our DS works for designed the energy building---it was almost complete.
Oh Newport. We used to go there every Feb. around the winter carnival time up until the last five years. Lots to do. Raw bar down by the wharf, lots of restaurants, shops galore to nose around in, ice skating. Good times, maybe again some day.
I LOVE Newport. I don't think you'd get hubby into Philly if you paid him.
Never been to Newport, or RI at all for that matter.
Remember when the tall ships came to places on the east coast? We went down to the bay off Newport in our boat and omg what a bunch of wackos in speed boats with no idea of how to handle a boat properly. There was even a guy in a kayak (sp) that I thought for sure would be drowned by the end of the whole thing or decapitated by some nut boat driver. What a nice sight though, all those beautiful sails and wooden boats. Sailors up in the rigging in old time uniforms.
I don't live very far from Newport about a 1/2 hour drive, it is a beautiful, historical city. It is worth a visit
We went to the BEST seafood restaurant when we were there once, I don't remember the name but it was upstairs in the area of row houses, you climbed up these rickety wood stairs, would never know it was there, but it was real popular with the Navy guys(my bil graduated from officers training there)
I enjoyed Newport, good food except for the raw clam I tried - worse thing I ever had in my mouth.
Sad about the explosion.
We were there too, nga. Watched it from a Navy destroyer, it was lots of fun
oh man.. must have cursed myself the other day saying I didn't know what to wear for weddings hate shopping... my cousin just sent me in invite for a wedding 3/27/10.. SIGH .. so when and where are we going shopping Jen??????
