Found Moon's Marbles

Delhi, LA

I am a traitor to Louisiana. I am a supporter of Payton Manning. He is the smartest quarterback ever to play the game.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

We still love ya Jim.

Hey ladies look what I found hiding in the closet, like brand new two tapes never opened and the bands haven't been opened either. $3 pricetag on it
hmmmm must have had good intentions....lol

That's what the guys on the radio say too, Jim.

Seeds, you house is so nice! I love those chairs. DH has a hibiscus, it never blooms either. He thinks because of low light, I think it's that and too much nitrogen. I read that they don't like nitrogen.

Lynnie, the charm on your little hanging-thingie was called a tree spirit. I know how much you love your trees. I think I will call the hanging-thingies "Gypsy Jewels", how's that? People tend to call me "Jule" or "Jules" so it may be fitting.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Oooh, I like Tonin' Uptown", JJ.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Jim, you said it! I couldn't figure out how he can see all his players in the field first before he throws that ball. I heard because he is over 6' tall and because he stands on his toes, he can see them, and he makes quick, good judgement calls. PLUS, he is always shouting plays to the guys. He is the one that makes their team so good. I can't imagine the Colts without him. I was never a football fan before I saw him play!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Sounds like a good name for them Smiley.

Well my uptown could use some toning....grin....
That tape has never been opened. got some oldies on it I should listen too
Can't help myself (while eating chocolate), The stripper (while dancing on my pole) and Hang on Sloppy ( while looking at my mess) oh that sloopy....LOL

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Lynnie, or Smiley, do you have a close-up of the center of that beautiful charm?

Kassy, don't forget to show us how your voodoo is doing. I can see why it is called that. It grows like majic!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Gotta go not moving fast enough I guess I stop and DH is in my closet poking around...jeesh can't even take a break

OBTW SunnyFlo posted a little while ago(from Haiti). Said she and her family were alive and safe. But said she wouldn't comment on what had happened to them.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

At least they are alive and safe, JJ. Hopefully nothing really bad happened to them, although with all that went down over there, that sounds kind of cheesy.

Venice, the middle of that hanging is just that, the middle. The wire from the white beading is wrapped around the middle. I've made those before without the "flower petals" (the white beading) and wrapped some sparkly wire around the middle, but couldn't after I put the white beads on because there was no room to work around it.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Jules I think that would be a very fitting name, Gypsi Jewels.....has a nice ring to it. JJ don't let Lynnie see those tapes it will only get her cardio in overtime lol. I've got one of the Richard Simmons exercise tapes "Sweatin to the Oldies" He makes it all seem like fun with dance. Glad Sunny Flo is ok, never talked to her but feel for anyone that went through that ordeal.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Smiley, then how did you anchor the long pieces together? Without them getting all wobbly?

(Zone 5b)

hi all! busy day, extra gym work, then went to visit little sister, she had surgery is doing ok,
JJ I don'r know about that dance your pants off, sounds a little risque;)

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Here is todays picture of the voodoo lily.
It grew 2 and a half inches since yesterday and still is not open.
Hmmmmm, maybe I might have to think about cutting a whole in the ceiling at the rate it is going...........LOL

Will post again tomorrow

Kassy that plant is scary lol can't wait to see that giant thing open!

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

And Jim,
Just as long as you don't support Brett, you can support anyone else ;-)

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Lynn, I read that the smell can be worse then the scary look :-(

But I like the plant :-)

Its also called devil's tongue, and this might be what it will look like.

Amazing anything can grow that fast...

Flowers I had sweatin to the oldies 1 & 2. Maybe in a different closet...

Lynnie you would have to Dance your gym shorts off....grin...

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Wow Kassy, that sure is pretty!

Venice, I must admit I bought the snowflake form the way it is. I tried to make my own, but am not that good at soldering. It's quite stiff, I'm not sure the thickness of the wire. I got the original idea from (yes, you guessed) a Martha Stewart magazine, but hers are quite different than any I've made.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Smiley -- Oh, you soldered it. That makes sense!

Kassy, can we see the full length of the plant? Maybe you could mark on the wall its height each day! I guess you will find out if it smells bad. Do you have much snow up there?

It is a real mess down here. We have about 4" of snow. But it is so wet, coming down so fast, and the wind is blowing it nearly horizontal. I took the snow off my car when I left, again after grocery shopping, and after going to Lowe's again. Everything on me was drenched when I got home.

Yes, I went again today! I got an orchid plant for $1.00 (marked down just today) and another $1.00 K plant (3 in the pot) but it is red. I thought that color would look good with the yellow ones. Maybe a mixture of them in one pot later in the spring.

I know this orchid looks a little pathetic. But there is green under that beige stuff. And there is another sprout coming up. I know nothing about orchids so I will have to read up on them. Do you know what I should do with it now? The roots are soaking wet now.

This is what the pond/lake looked liked after it was snowing for a couple of hours. The geese were taking a slow walk across the pond. A whole flock of them flew over my car yesterday and pooed on every part of my car: hood, top, sides, ALL windows, and even door handles. I have never seen such a mess! I stopped at the gas station to scrub off those spots and then went through a car wash. Good time to get a car wash, the day before it snows!

When I got back from running around today, I took my jacked off. However, the zipper broke and it took me 10 minutes to get it off!

Between the geese, getting soaking wet in the snow, and then breaking my zipper, the past 2 days have been very interesting!

Sounds llike a bad couple of days Venice.
Hope the weekend will be better. Snowing like crazy here
Things aren't going to well for DH today either and I have a bad feeling that I am not going to have heat in my bedroom for a few days.

If I can get him to go away for long enough calling my sons friend (works for plumbing and heating place) to come reroute this pipe.

Catch you all later he needs help.....Boy does he need help!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, you better call your son's friend pretty soon before he gets snowed in. I bet it gets pretty cold in you bedroom without heat, knowing how you house is insulation challenged.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hey Venice. That looks like it might be a Dendrobium orchid. They DO NOT like to be wet. Make sure that there is no water standing in the pot, and don't water it again until it gets almost completely dry. They like humidity, so a really bright kitchen window would make it very happy. Sounds like you have had a couple annoying days...hope all gets calmer for you.

Neat amorphophallus Kassy. Not all of them smell horrible, some of them are just mildly unpleasant....grin They are pollinated by flies...hence the odor.

Julie's Gypsy Jewels...I like it. That is truly lovely Smiley....great job...I like yours' better than Martha's....grin.

JJ. I think a better name for that tape would be Dance BACK INTO your pants....giggle.

Flowers, can't wait til you come back with your new, Fresher looking you....grin Gonna go for that platinum Chocoholic look???

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

The bedroom has been redone so it is insulated well.
The only heat off is in my bedroom so if it gets to cold I will move to the spare bedroom.

Friend is young and has snowmobile if I need him he can get here.
Be amazed how fast those youngins will move for a case of beer...lol

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Moon, so you think I should that that orchid out of the pot and let it dry?

JJ, sounds like a good kid to know!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

LOL Moon. Sounds about right. Dance right back into those hip hugger bell bottoms...
Amazing how many thing one can collect with good intentions and never look at them again.
I could supply us all with a couple different exercise tapes (none of which have the plastic off)

(Zone 5b)

throw in a pizza JJ and it will all get done! lol

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Thats the truth Lynnie.
Only problem is they usually want to drink and eat first..lol

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

OHH...collector's item exercise tapes....yea! I hear ya on the BBjeans....oh to have a waist again...LOL

Venice, don't remove it from the pot unless the pot has NO drainage. You may damage the roots trying to put it back. Here is a link for you.

(Zone 5b)

right they gotta work first. tell 'em the beer is chilling & the pizza is on it's way.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

We always withheld the drinkin' part until the workin' part was done. DH's brother is a very handyman, but also a beer connoisseur.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Moon as in collecting dust..
Thats why the hip huggers....got no waist but got lots of hips they can hug..LOL

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I would be afraid to let them drink before working. Might look like sprinkler system instead of heat...

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

At this point it would be a strangle hold JJ....LOL

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I've been wondering where my hip bones went. I always had a flat stomach, it just spread out around them, like an oval. Now I'm perfectly round.

Oh there they are.. under that hershey's bar.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

LOL

Well better go help DH, hear some sailor words coming from other room.
Something about suppose to be fireproof and caught on fire.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Moon, that vase pot has no hole in the bottom but it has 3 pieces of packing popcorn in the bottom. There was water in the bottom. I would say that more than half in the pot is roots with a bit of that s. moss. I don't know if you can see in the photo.

(Zone 5b)

too funny Smiley!
I still have a chocolate cake with pink frosting a foot from my nose, all I can smell is sugar *grin* oh and a box of chocolates from my mother, which my little chocoholic daughter is powering through.

(Zone 5b)

run JJ!
well the roots look healthy Venice from what I can see. They're not brown or anything. Probably need a pot with drainage holes.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Keep him in line JJ.

Venice, pour out the water and let the roots start to dry out. You can set the root ball in a small pot with holes. Then just use a spray of water. or set the pot on a tray with rocks to keep the humidity up. Dendrobes do not like wet feet....grin.

Like Mama like daughter Lynnie. You have taught her well....grin
