Love the reds, JoAnn
All the shots are lovely and I can hardly wait for the bus tour.
Lovely shots today again. JoAnn that is a nice sunny DL and all those combos are looking good. The anticipation is wonderful and sure does help Feb. get gone easier. I think any pic posted before 7am shouldn't be counted anyway.
Allison that is a wonderful pic and a beautiful iris. I like the mauve and violet colors blending like that.
Bill another pretty tree's blossom. One more name to add to my long list.
Pirl a gorgeous dahlia. The petals look all in a bright pink frenzy. Nice.
Pix I do love Indian Giver, always looks nice. Looking forward to those pretty blooms.
Here is my pic for today: DL 'Irish Envy"
isn't that supposed to be green? :)
Love the green heart and veins, Pat. My own are more of a purple!
Anticipation is what keeps us going.
great yellow!
Love a green throat in a DL, beautiful!!
Thanks, it is that limey yellow that goes well with other bright colors. This year will be the second full season here and I am looking forward to more blooms.
Nice shot and a beautiful flower. I don't think many things can compare to the large hibiscus blooms in the late summer. Looking forward to my new one, thanks to Victor's enabling.
I mdont seem to mind Feb so much now that I know December is so far away.
nice shots Victor and WC
Thanks, WC. That's a beauty as well!
Yes, for extended mid to late summer bloom, the best shrubs are hardy hibiscus, clethra (very fragrant), crape myrtle, hydrangea and some roses.
Nice pic WC. Will they come true from seed?
JoAnn that is a really great way to think of rotten old Feb.
I am beginning to try to figure out when I will notice generally higher temps like days in the 40's and 50's maybe March
Plenty of lichens here Bill, even on the wood garden benches.
There is a hisbiscus (pink) at a neighbors to our church parking lot.
Me too I have to elimenate the peachy lily, its too tall.
your yarrow looks different than mine
It was supposed to be 'Fire King' but came up yellow so who the heck knows what it is.
Love the yarrow Jen. Do you know which one it is?
Robin a rose is a rose is a rose. And yours was specially appreciated in Nov. I'm sure.
Jo Ann - great perspective!
Victor - how could you forget dahlias????
tanx Pirl
Was only referring to shrubs, Pirl.
Sorry. I just didn't want anyone to miss summer and fall dahlia blooms.
No problem, Pirl.
Don't know who's following the discussion thread on DG, but I am very concerned about possible use, including sale, of photos we provide. I am seriously considering no longer posting any photos unless I know for certain there will be no sale.
That's a very serious problem for us to consider.
... Yes, I've been chillin' on the photos too, and uploading them with 'med quality' for the last couple of weeks. I suppose one can assume unless otherwise stated that the original policy still stands BUT it's the assumption I don't like. I'd like some re-assurance, but that's not likely to happen.
BTW, ngam, not sure about true from seed, I'm going to have to wait awhile and see what the seeds produce! (lol!)
The original policy is the problem. Wish I had read it! Says they can be used 'for commercial use'. Ugh.
Ohh, guess I didn't read the fine print! :(
...Well Van Gogh never got paid for his paintings either! lol!
So we can expect you hack off an ear soon?
Sorry, didn't get that... (hard to hear out of one ear) Hee Hee!
I just assume that anything posted on the internet becomes fair game, no matter what guarantees are made. I have a touching story about that. When I went to go get Dexter in Ohio from a very big hearted woman who did a lot of work rescuing dogs, she handed me a small stack of papers. Within the stack was a poem written about a confused dog that had been cast out by his human family. Another poem was written in response from a rescuer offering love and a home to the forlorn and forgotten dogs. I remember standing there in shock, as I had written the response poem. I'll never know how it ended up in her hands exactly, but I just thought of it as another stitch in the fabric that brought me together with Dexter.
The internet is such a good thing, it's a shame that so many people use it in awful ways. Time for bed, and there's hardly any snow. :(
