Morning Ladies!
Ge, maybe if you post it later, he'll think you didn't post today. or does he do I walk thru to make sure?? LOL
Lovely Foxglove Allison! 'Camelot Rose'?
Moss Rose, a must have annual for me.....DH loves them!
Countdown to spring! One garden photo per day - Part 8
Thats a beaute Pixi
Thanks Ge! I meant to say my Lollipops spread like mad too, I think they were the first asiatics I ever bought.
I love them too Pixie... and that might be it
Ge1836, I love your L.Lollipops. Mine were blah the first year or two, but last year seemed to have improved. Not as prolific as yours however. I always break into the that stupid old song when I see them. Dates me.
Onewish1, love which ever digitalis that is. I have to see a cardiologist this month, so I may be planting more this year. Never can have too many.
Pixie, Moss Rose? I had to look it up just now. I laughed as I never knew that was the common name for dear Portulaca. I love them too, especially the pale yellow ones. But yours is delightful. Moss rose to me was an type of Rosa also called a cabbage rose.....so goes common names. Utterly confusing.
Here is a little Aquilegia called Spring Magic Blue and White which is a May sweetie. Patti
Oh Patti, so sorry to confuse you so early in the morning! LOL
I could never wrap my tongue around that name so I quickly learned they were called 'moss rose's" and it stuck. Dh has always loved the bright colors and the fact that the stamens are often as bright in color.
Nice Aquilegia, is it shorter than most?
What a cheery way to wake up each morning! Thank you all.
Would you look at the rainbow this morning!!! Beautiful parade of colors!!!!!!!!
Oh nice! I hope mine comes back!!!
One more thing out of the way, now I can back-track and look at your pictures and dream of Spring. Might even bestir myself enough to get something done to quiet herself a bit. Doc fished my gall bladder out Tues, kicked me out of the hospital yesterday and I must say anticipation is either better or worse than the event usually. I don't remember a thing after being admitted and all I have is four sore spots on my fat gut. It's a nice bright sunny day and I may even peak at Betty Corning myself as I must soon prune her-this is her second year and I probably should have taken her picture last year as she was looking like she was going to grow even if in a poor location. Tried to train her over a pink rose which looked a bit insipid really--maybe they will both look better this year. Beaver have enlarged pond to about ten acres but it is frozen over now--I wonder if wild water lilies would grow in there? And seeing them in all that tangle would require a boat.so I'm not certain about that day dream. Would really like some wild American lotus in there if I could find seeds and figure out how to germinate them, but it may be too cold for them here. I think they may have grown wild around here once but I've only seen them in Ohio. I'm a bit dizzy on pain meds so I think I better rest ladies!--------------------------Weedy
Thank you Pirl, great shot of the BF.!!
Feel better soon Weedy!
Thank y=all.
Lolli pop was a planter lily along with the brilliant red one NOID( they were in seperate planters) I had to transplant 3 years ago and they made the move beautifully.
I didnt know "jack" about liliesat that time.I just bought waht was pretty.
Good luck, weedy!
Thief! (Beautiful.)
Hey, it's MY photo!!
Candyce, I see there is a "music series" and a "magic series", so most likely a slight difference, or just a name change, but they could be twins from the picture.
Pixie, I like them because they are short and far less invasive than the tall ones.
Pirl, great shot. I watched part of a great doc about Monarchs the other night.
Sofonisba, great place to steal photos from. I have many stolen shots from her garden as I always take lots whenever I am visiting boojum's garden. It is such an inspiration. I have taken a mess while at Wha's too. I need to get down to Victor's at some point to steal some shots and plants. I might as well go to to Maine to see Pixie's garden, and then back to NH to see Candyce and Donniebrook's, then on to western NY to see Ge1836, NYVOICES99 and debilu in the fingerlakes then west to Philly to see luvsgrtdanes and further west to Ohio to visit meadowyck and down to see yours in NJ as well as to see flowerjen, Venu209, jan23, and onewish1, then I might as well catch a plane in Newark and fly way west to Alberta to visit Dahlianut before coming back to NY to catch a glimse of Pirl's, Pollyk's, WaterCan2, and Weedyseedy, before finally back to my neck of the woods to check out nutsfordaylily, Irisma and ngam gardens. By then summer will be over. Patti
what time will you arrive??... LOL
Wow - where do you pick up this Forum Express, Patti?!!
I think a bus trip would be fun. We can start at Victor's house. Just bring a sleeping bag and a shovel. Patti
Magical Mystery (Garden) Tour?
Patti Your plants are going to complain about being neglected & left to the deer. We will need a trailer for Bill's rocks & nice chipped mulch.
