Countdown to spring! One garden photo per day - Part 8

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

What is it now, 47 days or 46 days? I have a tendency to lose count. Must be the blonde in me. LOL

I just heard that Pauxetawney Phil is only accurate 39% of the time. That's good to know. I can flip a coin and do better, I guess!

My BESV from September of '08. I sure do miss her!

Pirl, yes it is from Buggycrazy, L. Stunning

Quoting:
An Asiatic seedling from Yellow Blaze with huge, LEMON YELLOW flowers on 4-5 foot stems that is just stunningly bright! Large purple spots and a high bud count make this a great bright spot in the June garden. This is one of the few lilies we named upon first sight, from the kitchen window it was spotted way out in the field and we had to get out there and see who that stunning lily was

From Wooden shoe
Quoting:
L.Dazzle 3 for 2.04 Many, BUTTERCUP YELLOW flowers; the stem just under flower will stretch, adding height to plant towards the end of growing season, dark green foliage.

From FARAWAY LILY L.GraffItI
Quoting:
2 for 7.50 LA. From the Tango series of lilies. Large, well marked, slightly scented flowers, very strong stems up to 40 in tall. CREAMY YELLOW. 14/16 cm bulbs

Candyce that BES vine is so cute.
Nuts for DLs Nelly is another very pretty climber.
I love the blend of pastels on your lily.

Thanks, nGam. I've got to try growing another one, I think. I wonder if it's too early to start?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Nelly is such a reliable bloomer, isn't she? Nice photo, Karen.

Luvs - nice lily - what is the name of it?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Thanks Pirl, sorry I don't know the name. I don't even know what happened to the tag!!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

It's something that happens to many of us, Luvs.

Triad(for a few more, NC(Zone 7a)

didn't I post something here?

Triad(for a few more, NC(Zone 7a)

nevermind, wrong thread, sorry.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Just to clarify, nature is not part of the clems name, just the way I wrote the sentence. Perhaps, a bouquet of Blue Light provided by nature, would have been better wording.

What a beautiful parade of lilies today. I have Coconut Lime, guess I should take a better look at it this year. Very handsome flower.

Jen, is any rudbeckia in your blue and yellow garden this year?

Candy, your BESV looks great in that planter. Did you collect seeds for this year?

An annual I might try again. Shrimp plant.

Well we are all over the seasons and how fabby is that! Wonderously prettiful pics all! Tonight methinks I will go with another fav combo: Russian sage, lychnus coronaria, lime feverfew and the ever cherryful violas.

really neat Weeze... love the colors D-nut

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Weeze, I didn't but will collect seeds if I need to fill in a spot.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

That shrimp plant is so beautiful, Louise!

Zounds, DN! What a great combination. Which Russian Sage is that? Mine is (plain old) light blue, which I always thought I loved until I saw your photo!

Triad(for a few more, NC(Zone 7a)

love the lime feverfew.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Have to look it up pirl. I like the light blue ones too and plan to snorf some seeds from one of those too (hint, hint)! Mine is an early summer bloomer and reblooms in late summer if cut back. It is shorter than the light blue ones; 2 1/2 feet in my conditions. I will collect seeds for you.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I'll collect seeds from that for you susand. Warning though, it is a prolific self sower. Easy to recognize and weed out the babies though. I've been donating babies to our local churches the past few seasons since they went to volunteer gardens and they are still asking for more babies. Very nice natural shape, no maintainance tidy plants. Drought tolerant too which is big here.

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

WoW! Dnut I'm sending you my dentist bill cause your pics caused my jar to hit the ground. Just gorgeous! good color combo and then they are all blooming together. Did that take research?

This the time of day for shadow check as the sun not fully up, therefore no shadow.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Well the little stinker saw his shadow I'm afraid. Why don't they shut the darn door to his lair sow he will have to stay out? Think people!
Meanwhile back here at DG it is warm and blooming on this thread. Yesterday a few beauties were very much appreciated from Jen's BES to a very pretty annual from Venu. Joann that is going to be a lovely lily combo too. A really beautimous group from Dnut, lovely.
Today already some beauties from JoAnn in the form of a nice garden shot of lilies, astilbe and iris. Nice. Also IrisMa has a very nice shot of a pretty blue iris too.
Let's ignore that rodent that wants to trash our dreams and make an early spring happen right here. My contribution for today is a clem, Betty Corning in June.
