JJ, I will tell you what I had for breakfast. One cut up braeburn apple, chopped walnuts, a little shredded coconut, non fat yogurt, and 4 packs of equal and all mixed up together.

I probably had less than half of it. Lynnie will probably say not to use artificial sugar but everything else I think she would approve. You could make it up the night before. It does have a bit of liquid when it sets for a day or so. I made this the other day and I was draining it off and dropped some in the sink and floor! So careful if you do that.

Really! Who takes the chocolate chips out of cookies!!

JJ, I kind of eat what you eat (I will admit it Lynnie!) but instead of eating all day I eat after dinner plus I have all regular meals also.

Joy, I always like seeing our little friend! Especially when he is doing something. What does he do when he doesn't like his bath? Why does he need a bath? Doesn't he go swimming? Or maybe he isn't a water turtle.

Moon, aren't you getting excited about the Super Bowl Game? What about your GS or DH? They are always talking about it on TV, not only Colts but also the Saints! You have got to admit that is going to be an exciting game.

Nice picture of Theodore, Joy. Venice, that breakfast sounds good to me, but I wouldn't use the equal, I would probably go for vanilla yogurt instead of plain. I'm not a huge sugar fiend, not stuff you add sugar to, that is.

Moon, I know you know about giving a hoot, I would probably be doing the same thing you are, if I were in your shoes.

Can you all say "Lake Effect"? We have about 4 inches, are expecting another 3-5 tonight, and another 3-4 tomorrow. It's perfect packing, Lynnie, borrow a kids BW and head on over.

Smiley, check the ingredients on your vanilla yogurt. I think there is sugar in it.

I think Smiley meant food you have to add sugar to, not food that already has sugar in it.

Fact is if I wouldn't buy the junk I couldn't eat it. If the yogurt is there and a donut/candy bar anything really sweet is around I am going to eat the sweet thing every time, then I might eat the yogurt.

I am hopeless I know.
When summer comes I won't eat like that. Just like my comfort food in the winter..sigh

JJ the "hunger effect" goes away after a couple of weeks of exercising. You can't go by me, I have a big appetite. I was just helping you out with healthier options to eat on the run. Guess I'm like my mother, she always ate twice the amount of food of everybody else, she's tiny too. Plus I always save room in case something good comes along lol

Venice that sounds good, except for the equal you nailed me, I never eat artificial sugar lol I would think the yogurt & coconut would make it sweet enough. I don't even put sugar in my coffee. Blond & bitter, baby, that's how I like it *grin*

Jim wants me to pass along that his Jo got a clean bill of health. I think he must still be having router problems.

Oh an my new male client, he is a sweetheart. But oh my is there work to do there. Unfortunately for me the last girl started in the LR trying to get it back to some sort of order.
Old farm house, well water and I don't think that bathtub had seen a good scrubbing with comet in a long time, white tub was orange, how anyone could use it was beyond me.. Yuck, that made me lose my appetite.
Maybe little diet help there.

JJ, I am confused about what you do? I thought you were part of a pool company and stuff for ice in the winter. But it sounds like you scrub crud out of people's homes! Is that part of the pool business? I know you were helping that blind couple. Please help me to understand.

Venice I work for the county health department( imagine that Lynnie me and health in the same sentence..lol).
I help the elderly stay in their homes for as long as possible. I prep meals for some, some I take shopping and DR appt's, some laundry , and supposedly only light cleaning. Once in a while I just sit with someone while their caregiver gets away for a few hours.
We don't do outside windows, mow, garden, move furniture around or anything heavy or that requires a ladder.

Like any other job you have some who don't follow the rules and will do some of those things anyway. wink

Lynnie I will only be going there once a week for a couple hours. Think thats why it is taking so long to get it back in shape.
I got most of the tub clean today, and my wrists and hands feel it.
Once it gets done it should stay pretty well. He is such a seet guy. He has a new bathroom sink I seen and if his son doesn't put it in soon I will send DH out there to do it.

Won't be the first time he has been drafted.

JJ, if that house is a farm house, it sounds like the well water has a lot of iron in it. I wonder if you can use products like 'Lime Away.'

The guy told me today he wanted to go out and cut down a tree but he couldn't take the cold anymore. I was like no way not on my watch.
Somehow I don't think walkers and chainsaws are a good combination...DH might be doing that too..

DH told me I sure can find him a lot of jobs but none of them pay good thing I'm not in business.

Probably could Venice. I use a lot of CLR. I like it better.

I just needed some better gloves than I had with me today to use it full strength.
Next week I will be more prepared..

well that made for a visual, walkers & chainsaws...bless his heart how old is he? He sounds like a cutie. I had a guy in his 80's, he would just putter on his way till he literally couldn't breathe anymore then go to the ER...he'd go play poker before getting medical attention. I have to applaud that kind of grit.

He's 78 Lynnie. He is a cutie but he will scare the bejebees out of you.
I came out of the laundry room and he came in from outside. He had gone out to get the paper. Didn't want to bother me.

Once I helped him out of the chair and then he took off without the walker, thought for sure he wasn't going to make it. ( very wobbly and no balance).But by golly he was determined to show me he could do it if he wanted. Thankfully after that he used the walker.

I am going up to take a nice hot bath.

I had a good lunch. We went to The Cheesecake Factory ~ does everyone have one of those around town? I brought half of what I ordered back to the office, darned tasty!

I had this huge piece of triple layer chocolate cake for dessert (they give you gobs of whipped cream on the side), that's going home with me. Gotta share that with DH. it doesn't even look like I put a dent in it.

Hi everyone,thankyou for wishing me a happy birthday,which was Tues 26th.I did have a good day,visited Botanical Garden's in Sheffield with a friend of mine and had lunch in the cafe there.Not a lot to see plant -wise ,of course ,with it being late January.There's a nice glass house though,with tropicals,so it was nice and warm in there.Also plenty of Grey Squirrels running around,must have warmed up,cos I'm sure they should be hibernating:}

Venice,last night I'd gone when you asked me about Theodore.He can't swim at all,he's a Tortoise,not a Turtle ,so he's much too heavy to swim,he'd sink:}.When I bathe him ,I do it in the kitchen sink and he tries to climb out,even though he can't as sink is Stainless Steel and so far too slippery.Vets advise bathing Tortoises to keep their skin hydrated and their shell and skin free of any dust that could have got onto them.He needs more baths in summer ,as he spends more time in the garden,so often gets dirty fee tand legs:}
Hope you're all having a good day,I went for a swim this morning and in the afternoon,visited my parents.
JJ,the people who come in twice a day to help my Mum care for my Dad and also sit with him every Wednesday PM,do a job very similar to yours,I think.It's wonderful,we are one family who just couldn't keep Dad in his own home without you.It's called Social Services over here.
Nearly 8pm now,just going to clear away dinner stuff

Thank you for clarifying the difference between a Tortoise and Turtle! Come to think of it, I remember now. I do have another question about Theodore. Does he wait to poo when it sunbathes in his cage?

Smiley, I went to The Cheesecake Factory once with a friend. We split the entre. We wanted different types of cheesecake so we each got a piece. They look really big in their display case. But when they bring it to you with more than a generous amount of whipped cream on the cheese cake, and when you start to eat it, you then realize how huge the piece is! I imagine your portion of cake was the same. I took nearly the whole thing back to work with me and spent the whole afternoon eating. Yes, everything they have is absolutely wonderful! I would like to go back there and ask for only a piece a la carte because you end up taking most home anyway.

Moon, sounds like you need to get more sleep! One thing for sure, you have to get your rest regularly so you will feel really good when your daughter and family visits.

DH now has me checking on insulation made out of recycled denim, of course no one sells it around here so have to contact the manufacturer. Hmmm maybe a new job oppurtunity. I would probably give away the store.
